My high school got a weight room and was renovated the year after I left. Whole school got the full works: Air conditioning, digital classrooms with smartboards, etc...
Roy Hicks luckily at my school it was already remodeled, but the best part is we can workout there after we graduate since it’s a private school. They might have a similar thing
@@josesilverflame6162 That is deadass happening to me right now. Just had my last day of highschool as the groundworks began for an entire new gym building.
I wish weightlifting was a thing in my high school. Guys had to do soccer, girls handball, there were no options, so I grew up thinking I hated sports and exercise in general. A decade later I discovered I was a gym rat, but it makes me sad to think of all the time I wasted. I'm happy for these kids, I hope they appreciate their new gym.
María Celeste I can relate to that so much! During Elementary and middle school, males were forced to play soccer and females voleyball, and honestly i hated soccer even to this day! Being a really skinny kid during my wholelife, i kinda got used to the idea of being that way for ever. But ooohh boyy.... i found the joy of lifting almost 2 years ago, and im getting bigger and bigger as days go by (natty of course).
El Homo lmao right. when i play and the referee is not looking i kick guys in the balls, walk over them, tackle them hard, push them. and that's the kind of contact i like, but nobody wants to play with me tho... kinda sad
You think thats crummy?? You should take a look at the public schools gym in my town... About 5 or 6 bootleg machines, rusty weights, no lights, to some schools that gym at the start of the video is pretty good...
That sounds like your school didn't have much, but can we try to just be happy for the kids in the video given that they went from a 2/10 weight room to a 9/10? Not to knock on your experience, but just trying to be happy for others rather than sulking on our own?
swag monster nope this also has a lot of shit as well for what they D OK so it compensates whatever it is and then these guys deserve what they actually do
I love these videos so much. I love that yall are giving back to our kids. I wish I had seen these videos sooner and they all deserve more views than what you have. Keep it up!
we have a decent weight lifting room in our school we dont have logs or different types of bars but we do have 6 squat racks and 6 platforms, kind of rusty but i still love the smell of oil and rust every morning.
Ya Boi Alex hey same after a goody day at our highschool gym your hands smell like rust and metal out gym was built in 99 but you can tell it's aging a bit
For MaximillianMus you’re not going to do very well in college if you didn’t learn discipline. My cousins never had any discipline and they dropped out of college.
This is beautiful. THIS is what our tax dollars should be going to. Bring my fellow men and women in uniform home and let's start investing in our kids today!
Sorry, but no. Tens of thousands of tax dollars do NOT need to be going to high school weight rooms. Maybe public parks and recreation areas, but I would have trouble justifying anything terribly outlandish even there, since people are assholes and will find a way to trash them no matter how much work is put in.
I can relate with their thoughts on the need for the gym I have started a weight training class and made big gains. Not only is it for your body, but lifting is for your confidence. When your making gains and seeing improvements in your body not only do you have more of a motivation, you have something to stand behind and lift your chin higher.
What people don't realize is that weight room was used for our gym class too. When we had PT for AFJROTC we would sometimes use the gym. That forced the gym class to the weight room. It was two small closed off rooms joined by a door where they ripped the walls down. Everyone has used that room. I'm so glad its fixed up.
It's so awesome to see the impact that you guys at the Lift Life Foundation are making in these communities. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your content on this channel!
I don't why anyone would give this a thumbs down. It's a wonderful thing! More foundations should do things like this! Anderson Prep Academy is a great school! They not only teach students academics. But, they teach them to be good citizens and help their nieghbor. They did us, and we will never forget it. They deserve this for all they do for the community.
I live in Indiana and I go to North Central High School and our weight room is as bad, everything torn and way outdated. Im in multiple sports and the JROTC program here and that requires lots of time in the gym. I love working out and it helps with anger and anxiety. Good to see a fellow Indiana school get treated so well.
I grew up in a small town of 2300 people in Indiana. Our high school housed many smaller towns in the area. We didn't have a big weight room. When I was a student, they had 70-80s equipment in the 2000s. Later on they removed most of it and replaced it with squat racks and only a few basic cable machines and rubber coated dumbbells up to 75lbs. I came back as an adult and worked out with the kids a few times and inspired many. All it takes is a good atmosphere and better coaches.
My high school (uk) had a good gym. I left there at 16 years old in 2014. Now im 21 and still going to that gym as they made it open to public memberships a year later
Cool to see, my HS used to have an ok but outdated weightroom with equipment from like the early 90s, so stuff was rusting, cracked, whatever, but they ended up switching with the wrestling team’s room which was bigger, got a row of squat racks, new weights, dumbbells, and just overall updated equipment. Now the teams seem to becoming more competitive and stronger in general, simply because they enjoy and have a nice weightroom to go to👍
With an old school Universal gym in my old high school, we'd have been in heaven to have their old equipment. I hope these kids realize how fortunate they are and what a good thing these folks have done for them...great job Lift Life.
My high school weight room is 1/4 the size of just one of their rooms with 3 racks that have cracked weights and no room at all and yet we can't get any money for it but this school does...
Gyms in high schools honestly make athletes so much better, the impact is huge. Our high school just got a weight room my freshman year and over the summer I gained 25lbs.. definitely a privilege for most schools
This school is in my city. I am so surprised to see such a wonderful thing to happen to this school! This is a community that doesn't have a lot of positives that come from it, and this is one way that people are working hard to change this community for the better! way to go APA and way to go Lift Life!
29:38, Why would you even buy these kids equipment when the fucking coaches can't even teach the kids proper form, the kid is doing leg press and pushing from his fucking toes.
When I was a junior the San Diego chargers redid our entire weight room. Not the biggest fan of the team but the players were unbelievably nice and friendly
I don't think you people in the comments saying there's highschool gyms in worse condition understand. They don't HAVE to do this, it was a submission, it's one of many gyms that needed an upgrade. There will always be worse, these people just wanted to help where they could.
Having a solid gym facility and coaching for young people sets them up for a lifetime of fitness. Wish schools placed more emphasis on programs like this.
Flanker Flash Hillary supporters at their finest, you do realize having Hillary In office meant war with Russia you dumbfuck and you don't want trump in office cause he's said mean things on twitter ?
...our school gym was some 10 free weights, 2 benches a treadmil and 2 bike s. This was all to use between 4 classes of 30 students. Wed take the prior gym in a heartbeat.
I could say this The most amazing video that I have watched on RU-vid in very recent time of my life. This video honestly inspired me to do many things with my life. Also taught me the meaning of humanity. Long life for (life lift)
Yeah when i was done with high shcool i joined the army in my last year. Surgery and illness followed but i keep the core of the army in what i do not gving up cronic pain and fatigue. At the end of it i push past what i or anyone says i can do. Dont wanna live limited. I worked out with a small weight room. And mostly did body weight and more
