+Mika Kuitunen things got a bit wild after we filmed this video and found out we had to reduce our CPU load by 30%... We did it, but we didn't sleep much

+Alex Knoll 30%? if you were able to do it, I'm guessing there was one or two big things causing it? what was it? also, why did you "have" to reduce CPU usage?

DreadPirateSteve1 well its a little more weird than just 30% (I oversimplified it), basically we had frequent spikes to the cpu but a pretty stable average. We cleaned up tons of things to deal with the spikes (and unfortunately some still remain due to networking), but we did some major cleanup to other stuff to drop the average load. Big culprits: CPU skinning (Switched to GPU), the way we were doing shadows, also some other minor things that were all adding up.

I know those expressions, I know that laughter. Sleepless crunching is the weirdest thing. Well done on making it! By the way this is the most honest to development blog you guys have done. Especially honest with the part about how not knowing what the bugs will be because you haven't made them yet, exposing the sad fact that the biggest obstacle for a developer is themselves.

Ahhhh yes, getting flashbacks to all nighters on demo reels or other projects with cases of Monster. Maya's rather slow render times were a blessing and a curse - it was the only time I could have a nap.

+José Crisanto Right now after release they are adding more content to this one. Single player, more multiplayer modes, new guns, and more. :) They have said they plan to move on to something new before. I'm guessing once they have everything in HJ they want. :)

A lot of people are complaining about the price 35€... I don't get it. If you are rich enough to buy HTC vive + 35€ doesn't make any difference.

+Wolf3fd I keep seeing people say this about VR games.. "if you are rich enough", or "if you just spent $800 on a vive". What does that have to do with how much you pay for something else? If you are rich enough to buy a Ferrari should you not complain when someone charges you $15 a gallon for gas? That's stupid. The gas is worth what it is worth regardless of how much money you have.

It's Just Milk I Swear Because brandon and his team has delivered everything they promised to us whether it is videos or games. In fact they just added more content to it. You cant assume that just because one person didnt keep his promise that all game devolpers wont. Ive been following Brandon since he and freddie wong just started making videos and after so many years, i can say that he delivers.
