Point of correction: a majority of simulcast anime series are licensed by *Netflix* in India. We're talking Spy x Family, Kaguya-sama, Bleach, Blue Lock, and so on being simulcast back when they were airing. Netflix also (currently) holds the Indian streaming rights to Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, Demon Slayer, and such, making it the biggest player in India's anime market by far. It's gotten to the point where I VPN to India just to have most of my simulcast anime in one place (Netflix). Only the more niche seasonal titles are even worth going to Crunchyroll for.
One thing I'm curious about Made In Abyss is if they might be planning to publish some of the anthology stories written for it. I believe there's at least 3 or 4 currently out, so that's something to consider. Edit: My bad, didn't mean to reply to your comment, I was trying to make a new one and must have clicked on your yours when I was doing so.
Personally Netflix has a large selection but they don’t have as much anime as Crunchyroll does and personally I’d rather have a streaming service that focuses on nothing but anime because that’s what I pretty much watch only and Netflix has gotten even bad reputation with me
It is good that Crunchyroll India is growing its libraries but it is slightly undercut since most popular anime for India is distributed through Netflix India Like vinland saga and spy x family but in long term maybe they can get more simulcast dubbed anime which I don't mind for popular anime. I binged all of kingdom dubbed I hope they add more dub anime to India
@@theperson8539 nothing gross about it if the dub VAs are decent. Not everyone wants to read subtitles while also watching the screen. It's distracting and takes away from the experience. Moron
I think the MIA announcement was just a dedication to making the next arc when its done . It wont be standalone imo unless its a film covering a side story .
Of note, even when the first anime finished they immediately announced there would be more. At the time they only had Bondrewd and the very start of the Golden City; they had run through ~75% of the manga by that point. So I wouldn't be too surprised if this is another situation with the announcement being more of a "this is coming eventually" case.
I appreciate this new format addition! as someone who's been into anime somewhat for a while, but for whom life often gets in the way, it's great to get anime news I don't have to actively hunt for. and thanks to over a decade of watching Tristan, I already have the algorithm pre-trained to put him on my front page.
So Glass Reflection is now a news show huh. Neat. I don't normally pay attention to anime news but I love your videos so I guess I'm going to get a lot more anime news in my life. I'm down for that.
Love the fact that Churchyroll is growing in India. Although there is so much anime on Netfilx but it is in Sub or half of season ( it only has Tokyo Ghoul season 3), so I have to prirate. In some cases they don't have older classic anime (Dbz, AOT) But Churchyroll needs to do a lot marketing if they want to make a name for them. Because Netflix has monopoly.
Crunchyroll has nailed the subscription prices in India ngl, they are really affordable, cheap even.. the only hurdle is licensing issue since Netflix is also adding anime in India every other week or so which is fast compared to Crunchyroll.. so it's kinda getting competitive outta nowhere where before this boom, it was only Crunchyroll and they didn't take advantage at all since it was just dead lol Also, other platforms like Ani one, Muse on YT and Disney Hotstar are also in the playing field so yeah, too bad that licensing will have us have to buy different subscriptions of different apps but hey, we finally getting something to watch anime legally
If you've been keeping up with One Piece you'll know that Oda's estimate has been consistent for quite a while. Two years ago he said the manga had about 5 years left. This year he said it had about 3 years left. The pace of the story is picking up rapidly, and he said that everything he wanted to set up is in place.
I am absolutely loving these daily anime news updates! I don't use social media and as a anime fan in my 30s , it's hard to find a community of anime fans that are more akin to my personality/tastes (basically Reddit). Its been hard to keep up on news. So I really appreciate these!
I like these reports. I'm not really one for social media type sites, so often don't know much of what is happening in the anime world outside what has already been released or I specifically search for. This is more of a one stop shop! 😃
Based on the structure of Made in Abyss thus far, I’d anticipate the next project to be a movie adaptation of The Golden City first before Season 3 proper. The reason I say this is the first two movies recap Season 1, followed by the required movie, Dawn of the Deep Soul. Could also double back and do another required movie after that, like you theorized.
Made in Abyss isn't in production, sequel just got "greenlit" beforehand material is available. They literally said in announcement for us to wait a long time and author saying he will try pick up the pace
Just a small thing to note for Made in Abyss: Yes, there are only 4 chapters beyond the anime in the manga, and yes one of them is a sidestory in name. BUT, these "sidestory" chapters are completely canon and have actually been seamlessly adapted into the anime already to an extent. They are effectively no different than the main story. In fact, the season 2 FINALE included a large amount of what was essentially supplementary material between chapters, but again, that is only in name. It was absolutely essential story and I guarantee you could not tell the difference in the anime. The author is simply not bound by the traditional chapter structure and will continue the story in whatever form he sees fit. Additionally, these remaining "4 chapters" are REALLY long. Like up to 3 times as long as traditional manga chapters. It is an entire volume of content, which would normally be about 9-11 chapters. If future chapters are similar in length, the story will progress a lot faster than you may think, even with longer breaks inbetween. And I have a feeling new content will be coming soon.
I really enjoy that you’re doing these a little more often. I’ve always associated your channel as more quality than quantity. But even seemingly short videos such as these I very much appreciate and enjoy
Yeah, as much I want to see more MiA, you can't just rush Made in Abyss. If Tsukushi isn't involved and doesn't have a corporate whip behind him, I fear what MiA would become.
If they do go anime only, I could see a side story working well. Something following new charecters allowing more freedom in both exploring layers we may not have seen as much as we though of...and showing off even more of the dangers. Could also follow the stories of other groups ans charecters weve seen in more depth, but I wont get specific on anyone I have in mind here to keep away from potential spoilers.
I would imagine that the Made in Abyss content is going to be both a movie AND anime-original. A movie will generally cover less manga chapters than a 12-episode cour; the current manga chapters aren't even enough to sustain that lower amount, so they still need to be anime-original but would need to go less deep into uncharted territory. And I think that part is important. I think the primary hangup on more chapters of Made in Abyss is writer's block, not health or illustrations or anything like that. Being creative is HARD. And frankly, being given a rush-order to sketch out What Happens Next isn't going to make that any easier.
Unless they do a prequel fleshing out Lyza and Ozen more and/or Bondrewd since we still know very little about him. I know most fans are more interested in joining Riko, Reg, Nanachi and Faputa on their adventures further into the abyss but delving into the origin of the Sovereigns would be a safer bet in the short term so as not to interfere with or cheapen the main story in any way and let Tsukushi do his thing.
@@charlestonjew7587 You know what, that's actually an excellent idea. The non-abyss part of this world is in dire need of more exploration and explanation, and yeah that wouldn't step on the mangaka's toes at all!
As an Indian, anime is now becoming mainstream here. We have Netflix and Crunchyroll at so low prices and also RU-vid channels such as Muse Asia are streaming Free anime. And they actually got some good ones as well. Also, now anime movies are getting much more audience here. And believe me, it's just because of the fan base here. During 2020-22, it gained so many fans that now we are a big fat anime consumption country
You know, I'm amazed you haven't been spoiled about the future chaps of Made in Abyss. With how much info you have on them and all, you'd think Google would of dropped a mean phrase out there.
Arkada, I'm not sure how into videogames you are, but there is a RU-vid channel I follow called SkillUp. They have this segment called "This Week in Videogames." I feel like you're doing something similar and you could title it "This Week in Anime," and be a consistent source of content for you. I would really be out of the loop on most videogame news without SkillUp and would like to see an anime equivalent. As most adults my time to actually consume entertainment media is quite limited and concise roundup videos are really convenient.
I'm really enjoying the Today's Anime News that you have started doing, just make sure you don't force yourself to make a video if your life gets busy.
Current Made In Abyss anime announcement (woo!) reminds me of Attack on Titan which took FOUR YEARS for season 2 to come out after 1 and why season 4 has taken years to be fully released.
Loving the news format! Very refreshing. Great energy seemed very enthusiastic! But the made in a abyss news kinda gives me drifters vibes, hopefully it's not just a new season is coming! **7 years later and nothing
As an Indian citizen I can say with confidence that the anime market in India has been established strongly for over a decade. This is because we've had shows on hungama namely Doraemon, kochikame, shinchan, kiteretsu & even ninja hattori on Nickelodeon. The millennials & mostly gen Y & Z have had anime deeply rooted in their younger days. I know this because my MBA's college's director was instrumental in getting anime to India & that blew my mind but also let me know that there were folks reading this wave of intercultural intrigue & also acceptance by the Indian youth to amalgamate their watching habits with international content at such a young age. And that most of our population is in a range of 18-25, we've moved over the pirated anime world & have started watching series on Netflix, Amazon prime & even Disney hotstar for that matter. So it's safe to say big companies have already dipped their toes to centralize the market & take the trailblazer advantage. But has crunchyroll taken fallen a bit too late in this market? Time will tell
First of all. Why every Indian's have to say "as an Indian citizen or am proud to be Indian" literally at any Indian topics. Trust me that no one care where are you from and it had nothing to do with you.
@@Drealmers EHHHH? What are you smoking? They never said anything about being proud Indian. And being an Indian CITIZEN matters because the changes mentioned affects those Indian citizens. It's literally about Indian audiences. Hence they have a better insight on the Indian Anime environment than some random white guy across the world in Canada (no offence to him, but you get my point). Also not just Indians, any video or video segment of a particular segment about a country will have lot of comments with people going, "As a citizen of country mentioned my experience is....". Next time use your common sense.
I love that for this video, when I clicked on it, it was 11 minutes old (which is the length of the video.) And it already had 105 likes. You people are liking Arkada's content before ye has watched it. Respect!
It’s great that Crunchyroll’s India library is growing! Bringing in even more fans, and continuing to show the world just how popular anime is universally. As someone who goes to India regularly to visit family, it’s become abundantly clear (especially recently) just how popular and mainstream anime has become, which is crazy to me because a few years ago when I went (pre-COVID) literally no one talked about it. The most you’d see were Hindi dubbed shows that aired on TV like Doraemon, Ninja Hattori and Crayon Shin-Chan (I’m sure there are others, but those are at the top of my head)
Recently Cruchyrool India Added Vinland Saga Season 1 and simulcasting season 2 which is the great step towards stop piracy because everyone can watch it legally due its affordable prizing in India
As someone in India, I wish we had more titles but I'm not complaining. It's one of the cheapest services and is priced competitivly. I'd say that's justified because of the small library
If they do want to make another season of Made in Abyss, the smart thing for the team would be to bring the mangaka onto the writing team so that the anime can still follow the outline.
That actually could be what is happening. If we assume it's in production now and, as stated, a continuation, then he is definitely contributing with hia current story outlines. What I'm afraid is that these outlines might... MIGHT not be developed as much in the anime. Up until now he had no restrictions regarding the time he used to write and translate his story into the medium, he might have fixed up and corrected minor things until he was absolutely satisfied. The manga might... MIGHT become the superior version of the story from there on out.
I Need to hear that Indian dub of Nagatoro! First thing I randomly watched that was a foreign property dubbed in Indian was Steven Universe, then some random clips of Naruto, Inuyasha & Dragonball Z
India have their own licensors in the form of Muse and Ani One and we love them more than CR, so I don't think India would be too happy. As a matter of fact, in India, you can watch Nagatoro II on RU-vid, through the channel of Ani One Asia, so CR just got the sub licence.
I genuinely think that they are in it for the long haul with MIA, financially I'm sure it isn't the greatest option, but putting trust into the mangaka is providing consumers with more trust in your product. Having read the manga version of DOTDS I can tell that they are staying quite faithful to the original product and I find it hard to believe that having recreated so many of the panels and scenes 1:1 that they would just decide to split off and go in blind. Both the first season and movies seem to have had enough production gold put into them to warrant a waiting period if need be. That's just my personal perspective...along with my hopes and dreams sprinkled in a bit lol
Im from India but still its hard to access to everyone perivious year Jujutsu kaisen Zero was released in theaters that was first time i ever watched anime on theaters I hope they make it more easy to watch upcoming anime
In Asia, pirating is completely normalized, some people don't even realize it's illegal. Hard to get them to pay for something they've always gotten for free. Make it an ad-supported free service with an ad-free paid option.
If they don't dub the anime in hindi it's going to be hard for Crunchyroll to grow in India considering Muse Asia RU-vid channel also simulcasts a bunch of popular anime for free.
Crunchyroll is simulcasting 35 anime while muse and anione get at most 10 anime sikulcast per season also they have 10 dubs in portfolio as of now and more announcement will come soon
👍Thanks for the update, it was well needed. BTW, I keep finding this hidden gem called CENCOROLL and I was wondering if you've heard of it in some way.... If you have, then what do you think about this underrated animation?
We already got a rough confirmation of a continuation with the message in the last moments of season 2, just like with the Dawn of the Deep Soul movie, so an official announcement was going to come eventually. I definitely think people are overreacting. I doubt they are going to mess with their passion project. It being planned and in early stages of production does not mean material is actually ready. They are literally telling us to wait a while. I can't believe people are freaking out and forgetting that they've done these types of announcements with footage from already released material twice already.
Oda first mention Op ending was in 2014 where it will end in 10 years. Fast forward in 2019, he mention Op end in 5 years, story progression is 80% done & Wano saga will take 10%. Wano was supposed to end earlier but as Oda started taking more leave in 2020 + Corona happen, it took a bit longer. Once Wano saga ended, Oda officially mention next saga is Final Saga (there is no official arc, just saga). Taking account Wano is 3 years long, Final should be similar or a bit longer. Op should end in 2025 or 2026 max.
Arkada, could you make a video about the brilliant series Summertime Rendering? Maybe it fell under your radar, but you should absolutely see this 2022 anime.
Best possible case scenario, Tsukushi has been secretly busy with the manga over the past year but has been reluctant to release anything, perhaps as part of some agreement with Kadokawa with the intent of producing the next chapter of the anime closer to the release of the manga as MiA's popularity has exploded over the last year or so. So maybe there's more material than we've been led to believe.
I was surprised they announced it so quickly but the fact that there's no information leads me to believe it's a few years out from release. Hopefully the team is taking their time with it
Made In Abyss staff: "Please live long and wait." All suicidal tendencies have ceased and human immortality has been achieved. But for real, at the pace the manga is going at, we might have S3 by the 2030s, tbh XD
Yeah, if they gotta produce something now simply while the iron is hot then I'd be all for a movie about the Sovereigns, fleshing out more in detail about Lyza, Ozen, Bondrewd, maybe Srajo too. It may not be the Made in Abyss we want right now but it's the Made in Abyss we need right now.
Sense we are talking news here I think it would be cool to mention that danmachi is celebrating it's 10 anniversary in a big way. Light novels, video games, and more has been announced.
I agree anime is getting more recognition in India but as Indian person i want more anime merchandise to sell here , i want my waifu pillow which is not available here it's sad
if the manga is ending in 5 years i fully fucking expect the anime to take twice as long with how long this fucking wano arc has been dragging with it's constant flashbacks and catch ups
Well that has me very happy that we’re going to be getting more made in abyss I wouldn’t mind getting a movie as an appetizer for season three because there should be enough material left for a movie and personally I really don’t want anyone else handling the writing for the series except for the Mungeka
You have my interest. Made in Abyss anime is basically almost entirely caught up with the source material, so I'm not sure where they're going with this new Made in Abyss content.
Yup, both my boys! Hope Mayumi Tanaka can continue the roll as Monkey D. Luffy till he becomes the King of the Pirates! And Krillin to be the strongest human on Earth while Goku and Vegeta are taking on the universe!
I hope the One Piece anime does end on a high note and that the VAs could get the rest they deserve. And it makes me happy that Tanaka is still passionate about being Luffy's VA all these years later. Whenever I think of the Simpsons for example, I can only think about how tired the voice actors are of having to work on a walking corpse of a show.
Crunchyroll is definitely trying to push hard by even making Hindi dubs for shows. The more bizarre thing is they are also making seperate english dubs for India, terming it as Indian English dubs.
Yes for more MIA! I'm a bit worried, but they could always go for the non cannon route of filler, so the gang has something to do in that stage of the abyss they are at now, and when the manga comes out the story proper continues
I would want a full complete adaptation because the show deserve it but waiting like a decade for enough material so that the anime can adapt it properly means the series will lose tons of interest it has built up AND the risk of its creators leaving the studio. It's kind of a lose lose scenario.
Anyone know why crunchyroll stated all funimation dubs would be transferred to their platform because they absorbed funi but they have a TON of dubs they've never bothered putting on their platform?
With how good the made in abyss anime is, it would be a shame to lose any of its creators due to time passing between the second season and the third. So, maybe Kinema Citrus can consult the mangaka and allow for the anime to continue on beyond the manga. Maybe it's less of a fma 2003 situation and more dragon ball super style adaptation.
