What would make the crank break like that? Would the crank break first, the cause massive oil pressure loss, or would the engine lose oil pressure first, then destroy the crank? Well, I guess it is amazing that engine ran at all before rebuilding, given how out of specification the bearing bores were. I enjoy seeing how much work you put into painting your engines. Few channels do.

Only 2 bolt mains. I’m guessing a cast iron crank as well? I watched an overhaul of a 1997 Crusader 454 and it had 4 bolt mains.

Think it'll make 350hp? New risers would be a good idea

Looking for some advice. Looking to purchase a boat with twin 454's that have about 1550hrs. They've been maintained over the years but they are 40 years old. Can you get by with a top end rebuild or, should I consider a repower in the very near future. The compression is good in both engines now.

hey there i have the same engine (if this is a CH350 on a mark IV big block casting# 14015445) I am hoping you could tell me the GPH for the fuel pump that is ideal for this engine. the carb on it is an Edelbrock 1410 750 cfm and the vessel is a 1981 Carver 3007 aft Cabin single engine. im trying to find the right fuel pump because mine is only pumping about 3 psi and i cant seem to find a ballpark on the gph that would be optimal. i appreciate your advice and great work on the engine big thumbs up to ya

I thought a Crusader 454 was a four bolt main?
