The Varimathras reference is like you said, a voiced version of the Battle of the Undercity quest. From 3.2 onwards, anyone who does the quest will find the last part voiced-over. It finally lets us know who Varimathras was trying to summon. It was about time Sargeras showed himself again and renewed his personal effort to consume Azeroth even though his Legion has been trying in his stead all this time.
"Allow my champions to fight in place of your knights Tyrion, we challenge the horde" "Show then no mercy horde champions...Lok'tar Ogar!!!!" Damn!!!! Most epic part ever!!
I checked out the soundfiles in the ptr aswell, and i can confirm that the voice in the end is from a folder named "Sargeras" theres also a folder for Varimathras but its empty
In case anyone's still going on about the sound bite at the end... That was taken from the Horde side of the Undercity quest in Dragonblight. Remember? When you kinda kick Varimathras' traitorous Dreadlord arse alongside Thrall and Sylvanas?
The "distant voice" that yells during Varimathras demon portals dispersing near the end never had a sound clip, and now it does and the game files name who actually says it (Sargaras).
It fits with lore, Tirion is smart enough to know sending all the members of the faction would just increase the enemys numbers and cause them to lose. so he hosts this, to prove those that are worthy and those that aren't won't be heading to the citadel(lorewise)
A lot of speculation of the ending voice clip to be Sargeras. Apparently this is the same thing said at the end of the wrath gate on the horde side (shortly after downing Varimathras). Oh god, I hope so. Sargeras is win
i always liked this raid i never understood the complaints, i mean comeon its sends shivers down the spine when varian sends "aliance" champions against the horde, how can you not love this
RU-vid edited my comment. Lorecrafted has a screenshot (post is on the second page now) of the audio file and name. It's Sargeras and it's new a voice for the old battle for UC event. Speculation: Why bring a guy in for 5 words for an event that's been left untouched for since it's been put in the game? You don't. He was there voicing other Sargeras lines for the new expansion and they threw this in.
The last "secret clip" sounded almost exactly like Shao Khan from the mortal kombat games, all he had to add to that saying was Finish him and fatality!
LOL, you just gave me a picture of a rabid-looking Varian and a rabid-looking Garrosh, both sitting on 4 feet on strained leashes trying to reach out to cut each others' heads off x)
That last voice clip you showed is Sargeras, the leader of the Burning Legion, isn't it? Unless i am mistaken, dataminers have discovered that the sound file is named "sargeras". So maybe we'll see more of the legion's commander in the future
KJ didn't die in Sunwell. Watch closely. he gets sucked back into the portal. Blizz themselves have said this. But I just found out it was a voice clip of Sageras. The actual sound folder is "Sageras"
Orcs had two options, Kill or intern. Thrall, med'an, no one has been confirmed for the role of new guardian of tristifal. Personally, Med'an's ability to use the different magic types is Orc=Nature(shaman) (cataclysm also introduces orc magi, so they can technically be the arcane as well) Draenei=Holy(paly+priest) Human=Arcane AND Holy(Remember, Paladin's of the silver hand? humans)
I thought the same. I actually got a vibe of Tichondrius the first time around, but yeah, either one of them or Kil'Jaeden I'd say. Still seems early for Sargeras to be brought along. Although I can't take him too seriously after being owned by Brox.
its always interesting to hear these audio clips from raids not experienced yet. i personally dont play anymore, i quit awhile before ulduar. the raid itself looks cool but the gear doesnt look that good, compared to previous designs that blizzard has come up with. the new idea for differentiation between alliance and horde setts, but overall they look too similar. they shouldve put another raid in between ulduar and this. i mean, whats next after arthas is dead? sargeras?
Reghar didnt let him go. He even said that he knew that the day was coming but had no obligation make the way easy (he said this while he and his NE pal battle in mid air with warriors wich otunumber them)
Problem: If you read the dialogue of the event, Vari calls him "master" repeatedly. In WC3, they did not, even to the "head Dreadlord", call each other "master". Maybe "brother", but that's about it. Most likely Sargeras or Kil'Jaeden.
Yeha Med´an is just a comic charter of the very same comic where the new council is is formed. Hell in the last issue Jaina asks Thrall to join but he says he is to busy pepairing the invasion of Northrend so he sends Reghar Earthfury in his stead as the shaman advisor. On top of that lets remember this new counsil is formed of Arcane, Nature and Divine magic users... whait Arcane Nature and Divine magic where I heared that before?
I could see Tichondrius or Sargeras being the "secret clip" at the end. A bit late though with the quote though...seeing as Varimathris was killed in the Battle for the Undercity.
On the WoW wiki it says that Barean Westwind (Scarlet Onslaught guy) IS in fact Mal'Ganis and is plotting his rebenge against Arthas, it's only plausiable it is Mal'Ganis.
I think it might be Tichondrius, but its more likely that its Malganis who says that at the end,to me it sounded like Tichondrius but it would make more sense for it to be Malganis.
Hmm, yes, any other situation, waves upon waves of soldiers would work, but when you're dealing with someone who takes ALL of those waves that died and bolsters his numbers. Not too easy for him to bring up powerful, strong willed soldiers as well(normally takes time, look at "Lavaman"[go to mmo-champion if you're willing to spoil it])
Yes he is in Azjol-Nerub. But, he is not in Naxxramas. One of his top lieutenants, Anub'Rekhan however, is a boss in Naxx. And yes he is the crypt lord that helped Arthas.
The spit theory of varyan is just the comic version, in wow he was just gone, while he was gone no other varyan was present in sw and therefore Bolovar vas the ruler of sw
I said "damn near let him go" he never tried all that hard, he sent some troops after him sure, but ever heard what thrall went through to escape the humans? i'm guessing not, since as reghar had 8-10 soldiers trying to get Varian AND BROLL, a powerful druid, Blackmoore had TONS of soldiers, had everyone he could searching for thrall.
Varian did more than just befriend 2 people, thrall was treated very badly but varian was treated the same however thrall was released 5 years ago and through out has seen his people become free, his best friend's death by his own allies Varian came back RECENTLY and suffered almost the same his sister kingdom was taken over by undead, His best friend's death by the people he was at truce with all im syaing is Thrall and varian suffered almost the same but thrall had time to get over it
What's this from? Is this an In-Game Machinima like the Veteran of the Wrathgate one? Or is this a trailer like the Ulduar one? Please let me know, i would really love to watch this with video and not just listen to the audio.
I kind of sad that there hasent really been much of Darion Mograine (leader of the Kinghts of Ebon Blade and the son of the ashbringer) and the death kinghts in the story besides like two quest in icecrown.
Most of the things are right, but Varian have been splitted into two persons, one being controlled by Onyxia, the other Lo'Gosh an orcish gladiator champion. They're being combined and getting his memory back. His father, Llane was killed by Garona, an half orc that offered friendship with him, to later kill him. He were very friendly until a meeting came, And got assaulted by Garona and another gang, which made him hate orcs more than ever since he were forced to fight gladiators for orcs
Thrall was raised by humans, treated far worse the Varian ever was, his name means SLAVE. He met 2 people, Sergeant, and Taretha, Blackmoore (his master) killed Taretha when he found out hse had betrayed him. he taunted thrall after revealing her sever'd head to him. If anyone should be pissed off against another faction, It's Thrall. Varian met and befriended Broll and Valeera, he was never treated horribly or tortured by his orc masters. As for Garrosh, Varian is the first to attack the horde
Well the orcs where in the internment camps because the Aliance had no option at the time (exept kill the crap out of them). And Thrall is NOT the new guadian of Trisfal but Med´an (the son of Garona) who can wield Nature, Arcane and Holy magic thanks to his mix of blood. (Orc= Shaman, Human= Arcane, Draenei= Holy)
varimathras........wuut. Where does he fit into...anything? And wasn't that voice clip from the battle for undercity (go read about it under varimathras' page on wowwiki).
I've wondered the same question myself. I got 2 posible theoryes. 1: gromm was like a brother to thrall, and thrall could not save grom from death, so he feels he owns to gromm to raise the boy and make him a worthy chieftain of the warsong like his father. or 2 2:thrall is actually considering garrosh to be his successor as warchief when he retires, and is trying to teach the boy how a true warchief behaves, WITH HONOR!!. too bad that garrosh is too stupid to see it
What? Varian was NEVER beat like thrall was, Thrall was kept in a dungeon, never allowed to go out without some sort of thing to keep him moving freely, while Varian could walk as wel las he wanted. When Thrall tried to escape, Blackmoore pursued him, and when thrall was leading an army there, tried to break his spirit by murdering pretty much the ONLY one who cared for Thrall his early life(sergeant didn't truly care like taretha, but he helped him.) Varian? Reghar damn near let him go.
Can't be Kil'Jaeden, he's dead for sure since the Sunwell encounter. Must be another dreadlord, I believe it would be more logical if it were Varimathras' Master, which Varimathras tried to summon during the quest "The Battle for The Undercity"
indeed, for all his flaws gromm actually respected the chain of command, he'd NEVER disrespect thrall, but garrosh dares to show an attitude to his warchief, I dunno why thrall doesn't dicipline him at all? then again, for gameplay reasons there has to be a hostile character in both alliance and horde so that the conflict continues, if malfurion and thrall were the leaders, the alliance would had peace a long time ago.
My colleagues and are arriving at the hypothesis that there will be another MMO of the sort, but of the time of WCI: OaH. An RTS would be Great though.
hmm am i the only1 that think the voice in the end sounds like Tichondrius from wc3 ^^ he was the leader of the dreadlords. Perhaps its him. i think it sounds like him ^^
