More sound files from the PTR. These ones concern Algalon the Observer, the 'perma-hard mode' boss of Ulduar. You must defeat the hard mode versions of the four watchers of Ulduar to gain access to this fight.

Algalon is only the oberserver.The only way he could allow the world to be destroyed is either by activating the re-originization tech in uldum or by contacting the titans but the titans is dead so...

Legoldos im guessing you havent read the chronicles book huh? They died long before sargeras make contact with azshara.This also ties in to the message wrathion had where it says "oh..we have fallen.....we must..rebuild...the final titan...do not...forget"
Nazmi Ahmad thats utter and complete bullshit, and if its true it would kill whjole warcraft lore for me, titans are most powerful beings, even scrub sargeras was only their soldier, they were able to create worlds and battle the old gods (according to books old gods are far beyond the power of sargeras so its fucking impossible for him to kill titans)
Now this is one of the things that makes me love WoW, these sort of encounters involving Titans and the OLDEST lore that I can think of and the depth of it all in the first place makes it just such an awesome encounter. Unfortunately I could only defeat this guy at 85, but it was still a challenge, and I was glad to be able to do it in the first place.
I remember looking at this a few days after you uploaded them and being like "holy crap, I HAVE to see this fight." And see it I did. And beat it I did. It was worth every moment of pain working through those hard modes and finally beating Algalon. He still remains the most epic experience in WoW's history, even above Ragnaros. Chris Metzen's voice was perfect for Algalon, and Blizzard definitely outdid themselves on the fight.

Had they all loved life as you do?" I kind of hate just quoting the video, but... wow. I love the writing for this.
The title "Starcaller", along with "The Light of Dawn" and "Savior of Azeroth", is in my top 3 of titles. "BUT WHAT ABOUT LIBERATOR OF ORGRIMMAR AND CONQUEROR OF ORGRIMMAR!?" I'll be honest, I don't have that title yet (horde side). But wouldn't feel epic having it on, because even though Garrosh is a tough nail, it isn't a world ending scenario. It's more of a nuissance than anything. The title is worth it.. To show off that you have done it, not to wear with pride.
They could still make certain DPS requirements, such as an enrage timer making it so you cannot stack healers/tanks, but a major mechanic of the fight could be that nobody can die during the entire encounter. Listen closely to his "You Win" speech with that idea in mind.
He has been referred to by Blizzard as "Algalon the Raid Destroyer". He is a hard mode only encounter that cannot be accessed until at least one member of your raid has completed the quest chain that starts from a drop from the Iron Council. To complete the quest and open the door to Algalon's room, one must acquire the sigils of all four Watchers (Hodir, Freya, Thorim, and Mimiron) by defeating them on their respective hard modes.
He's just acknowleging the possible concerns of an "empathic" person. Remember, he is the message, and the message is him according to the audio, so if the message is sent, he is sent, and still exists. Thats what I interpret it as.
In 3.2 there's going to be four raid instance modes, 10man, 25man, Heroic 10man, and Heroic 25man. I haven't done much on the PTR but I'm assuming the Heroic Raid modes are the equivalent of doing Hardmode boss encounters in Ulduar currently. You'll also have 4 separate raid lockouts with the next patch if my comprehension of the notes are correct.
When you kill Assembly of Iron in Medium or Hard mode you get a disc, that leads you to a quest to retrieve 4 sigils. Each sigil comes from a hardmode of a keeper. Once you have those 4 sigils you can open the door to Algalon.
The first part the "female" voice is a console similar to the one in Halls of Stone. It is indeed talking back and forth with Brann, though his dialogue is absent in this compilation. The first event takes place after you kill the "Iron Council" in Ulduar, though it may be after hardmode only.
The tribunal of ages with in the Halls of Stone dungeon states that the titans appeared first, forged azeroth, planted the seed races and then left. The old gods then came to azeroth in which they established the 'curse of flesh' to make it easier to kill the seed races so that they can gain more power. The titans eventually returned and started a war against the old gods and the elemental lords.
Expansion was, Ulduar has been out for nearly two weeks now and we're just starting to see guilds facing Algalon on 10-man. In all this time he still hasn't been downed yet.
Ulduar has always been my favourite raid instance. I remember my guilds first Algalon encounter as if it was yesterday. In my opinion, this is one of the best written (and voiced) dialogues in World of Warcraft. Along with the real cool effects in the boss chamber, this gave me some real fucking goose- bumps. Good times...
Chris Metzen has been confirmed as the voice of Algalon, who also voices Thrall, Varian Wrynn, Rexxar in Frozen throne, and is highly likely to be Nefarion's Voice actor as well
I've seen the end bosses of burning crusade, lich king, and now cataclysm, and each time you're fed a different "saving the world" scenario. But I never really felt as if it was more than just a raid encounter. For some reason this one encounter truly moved me, and made me feel like such a part of what was going on. Racing to Dalaran and watching that light fly up into the sky and listening to Rhonin's speech had me choked up. If only they could make ALL of their raid encounters feel like this..
Yoggy will be the "Last" boss fight, for a normal raid. This fight is going to be, from the sounds of it, for the hard-core leveled people. Blizzard has labeled him as the "Raid Destroyer" or something of that respect.
You do have a great point. At first, Algalon has a cold, unfeeling logical sort of voice, ("Your actions are illogical." "The stars come to my aid.") and then as the battle continues, he opens up a can of whoop-ass. "Witness the fury of the cosmos!" and "Behold, the tools of creation!"
nope, the main bulk of sound is divided into ambient music and sound, and the catch is that the voices of the raid-bosses are merged with the combat sounds on the sound bar, so u can't mute one without muting the other more than once I can barely hear what cool bosses like malygos say due to their voices being drowned in the spell/combat sounds. I wish blizz would separate those, so we can mute the "clang and bang" sounds of battle and leave only music and voice on
Yeah, I suppose. I mean the titans likely still believe completely in their "cosmic calculations", so even if Algalon himself modified it, they could discover that he did it under duress, and against their "code". And thus they might get pissed.
Algalon by a long way. He's also available only one hour per week for a raid to take down. If you don't kill him in that one hour, he despawns and you won't have another try till the next reset.
