CRUSHER BOUND 1995 Cadillac Sedan Deville!

For some reason these old Caddys hold a soft spot in my heart. Everytime one comes in I want to save it. But we cant save them all. This 95 is pretty sharp even covered in a thick layer of red clay dust and dirt. Underneath her 4.9 heart has all the intentions of ruling the open road again. But still needs a little help. The patched up radiator is just one indication the owner probably wasnt financially able to stay on top of all the maintenance she required after two decades of highway abuse. At a hundred and some odd thousand miles thou, shes still got life left in her yet. For the price that you can save this car its surely worth putting a little work into. Radiator, hood, driver seat ETC and this could make a clean daily driver. Or just weld up the doors, remove the glass and send her off in a blaze of glory at a demolition derby! I hope you enjoyed this video, Thank you all for subscribing to our channel, drop a comment down below and let us know what you think! And we will see you in the next one! Thanks for watching!

That Caddy might be worth saving if the mileage on it is as low as the oil change sticker suggests. A lot probably depends on how much a radiator and transmission cooler will cost and whether or not the engine got cooked when the water pump started throwing water around the engine bay rather than round the engine. It does look pretty straight overall and I think the alloys might be OK for refurbishing, though I don't imagine it would be too hard to turn up a better pair in a junk yard. The wear on the drivers seat looks very much like it has been caused by someone with mobility issues getting in and out which would tend to suggest it may well have been owned by an older person who may well have quit driving after hitting whatever it was that bent up the front of the hood/bonnet so it might well be a low mileage car, though having come from Maryland it might also be rusty underneath...

My current daily driver is a Diamond White 1995 Sedan DeVille 4.9 that I found April 2021 for $1500! 145,500 then, 148,600 now. SUPER clean and only a few tiny rust spots (the biggest being 1/4") Even came with all original paperwork...including the window sticker, service records AND dealership signed into service booklet from November 1994!!! Needless to say, since I don't know exactly how many Iowa winter's it's seen (previous owner did say he drove it last winter, no idea how much road time) it's NEVER seeing winter again! Gotta say...LOVE LOVE LOVE being behind V8 power again for the first time since 2001!!!

I had a 92 Eldorado as well in dark blue and both cars had that same history of Cadillac album in it. I loved my Eldorado. I had a 3" exhaust and dual Flowmasters on the Eldog, and the Deville had a straight pipe on it...I was young.

Looks like it needs a water pump judging by the rusty water spray. That is same waterpump as 4.5 and 4.9. Both great motors capable of 250k+ miles. They get good gas mileage too! Just swap the stock fuel injectors to the Bosch ones and they get over 20mpg average up to 28mpg on the hwy! I've owned a few and they where all great cars! Currently have a 91 FWD Fleetwood coupe(4.9) and a 90 Brougham D'Elegance with the 5.7 Chevrolet. They are great cars! Please save it! That is sweet that it still has pen and calculator! !!

Looks to be in decent condition... It's been running hot.. you can tell by the rust coloration under the hood.. probably needs a radiator, water pump, thermostat and upper and lower radiator hoses and you'll most likely be fine... Definitely worth saving

Neat find in the glovebox. I'll have to check the glove boxes of these cars at my local junkyard for those things. Maybe you could save some of the emblems before it gets crushed. Also when do we get an update of your old Lincolns?

The fine details they put into these cars are awesome. Just the owners manual, and how it was presented was cool. The pen, the calculator, the owners card. It just shows you, Once a luxury brand always a luxury brand. While Cadillac may not be the big metal boat we once knew. Deep down, the classy, soft touched, yet chiseled elegance of a Cadillac still exist.

I think actually, that there is something has to make of this quoted there. Not many people does not care about papers of cars, it is has to save also. For rooms as for papers it is has to take into account, it makes so left the value of a car. Personally if I find has the sale a car provided with these accessories, it will decide on me more easily has to acquire him, rather than his neighbor in a similar condition. Has to meditate!

I really love your videos. I wish things up here in Wisconsin worked like they do down there. Once a car is scrapped here, it's junk. Wisconsin is terrible with selling of cars. A Dealer licence here is next to impossible to obtain and as a result no scrap yard or junk yard here will sell complete cars. Mind you, up here, when cars of this era are sent to the junk yard, they're usually rusted beyond any semblance of repair. They might run great, and have an awesome, sometimes even mint condition interior, but the body structure is so far gone that it's just safer to let them go to parts then be crushed. It's great to see though that some if these cars actually find new homes, whether from your videos helping, or people coming by looking for complete cars. I would give just about anything to get my hands on a southern rust free 1982-1988 Buick Century. They just rotted away here, like everything else, ashes to ashes, rust to rust.

Nice avatar icon ya got there. I really enjoy those old centurys myself, and as Ive mentioned, we are NOT a junkyard. And thats why cars are sometimes purchased and parts are so much cheaper. The rules are a little different and they work in our favor.

I took my wrecker to a crash site and the car was still running, I grabbed it with the wheel lift with it still running and the lights on the other car so they could see inside of it to help others out. I was there say and hour or so then someone turned the lights off and give me the high sign so left. I got back to my place a couple hours later and got out of my truck... could hear something but figured it was the car next to me. So walked house and ate and messed around doing something and then got another call out so got ready to leave so just jumped in my truck and hit the release and pulled away, got out and checked my lights as quick check before leaving and heard that sound and looked over at the caddy... that sob had been running for hours! I shut it off then left..did my thing and back again where it was getting light again. Figureed check out the turd car. To my surprise, that caddy had been hit but it wasn't hard fix so I waited the time on the car then got the salvage title. It was still good on tabs so change of owner was all. I was going to fix really but other crap comes in and those time bandits kept me busy. One day in town at the auto parts shop I'm going in to the store, I mean I am parked legal and headed in store when big truck turning around puts his trailer right in my car where the other accident had happened but you couldn't see it now cause that dick killed the caddy. I walked up to the driver who thought he was good to go till he seen me on his running boards. He stopped and hung his head and said second car this week I've hit. I told him the price I wanted for the car and he can have it but right damn now. He dug in his wallet and handed me five hundred and then said here's my licence to hold till I come back with rest. Kinda felt bad for him so said close enough and he drew in a big breath. I really didn't want to let him off cause it was stupid how he hit me. I seem him about two weeks later and he had got fired, cause of wrecks and me letting him off was a bad idea. Yet I did have about twenty dollars in that car and it pulled close to eighteen or just a bit more mpg and I liked that and rode in style

Ahhh yes, GM's Northstar engine and it's problems. GM has never done multi cammed, multi chained engines very well, and it all started with that 3.4L (X) engine found in the Lumina Z34. Now they are having problems with the 3.6L found in the Acadia, Traverse and Buick Enclave.

@davidjames666
@davidjames666 6 лет назад
DNR5586 I have a '96 in the same color, and mine has beautiful chrome wheels in mint condition that are found on the top of the line '99 Cadillacs. The northstar is a wonderful engine if it was cared for and kept from overheating. Obviously this car was displaying a "low coolant" message, and the driver ignored it. I just put new hoses, radiator, and pressurized surge tank in mine so parts don't fail and cause an overheat condition. Also, change the Dexcool every 4 years. The 4t80e transmission is bulletproof.

Not true Northstar is a great motor. 2004+ are less likely to fail. My 99 deville head gasket went at 240.000 mile. My 2004 dts is at 280.000 n still going strong. although there always something to fix with gm cheap parts. Once you know everything about a Cadillac the whole this is hard to work on sounds ridiculous. Actually it pretty simple once you know what you doing. Especially with help from the Cadillac forums. Plus the northstars way faster than that 95 deville

@@stonedraider708 +1 The original head bolts were way way too fine threaded to be bolted on an aluminum block. GM eventually replaced them with M11X1.5 with 1.6in of thread which themselves were replaced in 2004 with M11X2.0 with 2.6in of thread (same as the LS1). Just like that, the Northstar became the reliable engine it was always meant to be.

That's a good look at it, well done there. I would put some water and a battery in it, and see how it starts/runs. If the motor sounds ok and the trans works, it's worth selling. The question is, do you fix it and sell it, or sell it as-is? Do you have another one of these sitting around the yard that you could use for parts?
@MXguy95
@MXguy95 7 лет назад
Unfortunetly I would have to go to another yard in order to get the parts needed. It would still be cheap enough. I dont think I would be able to get much out of it the way it sits. I would rather put the time and effort into making it look and run right. That way some one can jump behind the wheel and appreciate it from day one. I dont like selling luxury cars as "fixer uppers" Its still a cadillac after all!

Northstar blows head gaskets, but it's better at blowing donkey dick. Around 7 years ago, I had a '94 STS with 64K, and the POS threw a rod without warning when I floored it on the interstate. I changed the oil every 3K, checked the coolant, maintained it very well, and the interior was immaculate. I figured something was wrong when I picked up a like-new car with 50K miles for only $3000. It lasted for only 2 1/2 years. I sold it with the blown motor for $700. What a shame.

Its funny, a guy named Ford was selling cars from 3 different companies GM, VW, and Suzuki but not any cars from Ford.

This thing is cool but I'd rather have the Northstar V8.
