PATREON: / chrisrollins Can atmospheric pressure crush a 55 gallon steel drum? I love science experiments that demonstrate the power of nature! This is my first video using the Chronos slow motion camera! What do you think? #steeldrum
Chris, congrats on going to be a Dad! So happy for both of you! That was an awesome science experiment that was HOT. Literally & figuratively. Hope you did not get burned bad. Dude, that camera rocks!!! Looking forward to more slo- mo but hopefully safer videos. Great job.
I’ve seen a lot of shoots with the chronic camera that didn’t do it justice. Thanks, you did it justice with proper focus and good lighting. Nice job and congrats on the soon to be new family member.
Awesome video Chris and congrats to you and your wife on the upcoming arrival. There is nothing better in life than bringing a new life into this world. I will enjoy your experiments from the safety of my kitchen table, thanks for sharing and keep up the great work and most importantly don't blow up.
Sir thank you You are nuts and this video was amazing. Great first use of you high speed camera. Can’t wait to see what ya do next. Congrats on the new baby, if ya ever need any helpful advice, always here to assist.
Hey Chris that barrel is hot hahahahahahaha..... Cool science project..... Loved the slo-mo..... Nice video bud.....Glad your enjoying the new Camera...
Failure is always an option. Nice that you had 2 barrels. Slow-mo was cool! Been following Ken Heron’s channel for a while and saw you many times filling in for Dana on TNL and subscribed to your channel as well.
The earth is flat so your shed must be crooked :-D All joking aside I'm so glad that you got that cam and congratulations on the little one. They make everything worthwhile.
Loved it, Chris! I do worry for you sometimes. Of course your risks seem to be calculated... but still.... Hearty congratulations on your new family member. But it may be a week or two before the baby can co-host. And a couple of months before you can leave a whole episode to him/her. (Have you announced [do you know] the gender yet?) Thanks for the shout out!
Exciting video, Chris...! I was concerned for you the whole time! Steam is an evil entity that can burn you faster than an open flame... Congratulations on adding another descriptor to your Resume of Life: DAD...! Best wishes to you and your better half...! ;D
Might have been way easier to mod the cap with a pressure relief value. It would have allowed the steam to exit without you having to burn yourself getting the cap on and risk a steam explosion. Once you throw the barrel into the water and the pressure drops below atmospheric, the valve would close again, and you get your implosion. Adding it to the cap means you can make the mod once and do as many barrels as you want.
... be sure you take it off the fire before trying to seal the cap. If you were afraid of the implosion, you should be a million times more afraid of an explosion.
Just make sure there is no oil inside. Then you will have oil-vapor/air-mix which is not a good idea for obvious reasons... fjuff! :) And don't put the lid on while still heating it ... pressure will build up quickly and it is dangerous...
Chris that was awesome! I just found your channel and will be subscribing. I’m a new RU-vid channel and maybe some day we can do a video together. Keep up the good work. Chris Going Ballistic
Oil drums are some thing you cant play with. There bigger than you thinck and can be dangerous if you dont know anything about them. A drum reconditioning plant went on fire one day as the spray paint machine just burst into flames and the heat from the fire was poping and blowing the drums every where. And there was at least 900 drums in the plant and the fire just got to much and too fast the men just had to run out the plant. A drum blowing towards your head at 50mph would kill you. And thats just one? This nutter burned heself and the drum didnt even move an inch lol and i thought mate just quit while your head before the lid blows your head off. And hes using drums that have been used and not even cleaned out properly. There not just some daft round toy you can play around with fire. Mad, mental.
