Now this is very instructive. Knight really stronger than bishop if bishop pair already gone. The knight on opponent's camp will restrict everything and open many tactical possibilities including checkmate. You should just exchange the bishop with the knight no matter how good the bishop look.

11:10 the missed x-ray attack with bishop on B5 is haunting. There's three points on the pawn if he blocks with the C pawn. He moved his knight afterwards because he saw his weakness. You were late. Chess is just order of operations executed.

10:16 you missed Queen C5 check, threatening the bishop after knight takes post-king move. It's a tempo move, always order of operations
@faznaz7455
@faznaz7455 3 года назад
Actually, the check just makes the king go to his desired square which imo is not a good use of a tempo so i do think you’re wrong about Qc5+ since it’s in white’s best interests to invest in a move for King safety rather than Black pulling the trigger and white will have to eventually respect this check threat.
@drewmckinney7843
@drewmckinney7843 3 года назад
@@faznaz7455 I checked it today, plug the position into lichess engine, stockfish NNUE agrees
@drewmckinney7843
@drewmckinney7843 3 года назад
@@faznaz7455 Of course this opinion can later be refuted, a neural network is a poor imitation of an actual human brain. They church those engines up for sponsorships and cash, for right now though my initial estimation seems viable
@faznaz7455
@faznaz7455 3 года назад
@@drewmckinney7843 Really? If that’s true then the reasoning behind provoking the king to h1 being more optimal is beyond me. As we say in chess, the threat is greater than the execution. Which means that there is no reason to provoke the king to a supposedly ideal square. But apparently there is something concrete that’s good for black. I’m sure a lot of titled players like Simon would also reserve giving the check.
@drewmckinney7843
@drewmckinney7843 3 года назад
@@faznaz7455 Engine takes knight with queen after check, opting for an exchange and a better king position for endgame, I would take with knight for more piece play. I would say engine's logic is more sound this time, all strategies should be based in endgame absolutes instead of capitalizing on human error

@arsenalfanrichi 3 года назад
Teaching people not to resign cos they lose a piece is okay imo, you can still create threats with material on the board, but when you're down 5 queens and opponent has 6 different ways to mate you, that's when people should realize it's time
@dsrguru
@dsrguru 3 года назад
Yeah not resigning if you have any practical chances to draw is totally fair. I've seen strong GMs like Naroditsky and Robson struggle to mate with K and R against K under time pressure, not to mention all the stalemates Eric Rosen has pulled off when opponents are under time pressure. The only time it's inappropriate to play on IMO is if you're dead lost with no ways to complicate the position and where your opponent has plenty of time left. If you then purposely run your clock out to try to get your opponent to disconnect or walk away from the computer and miss your next move, sure that's against the spirit of the game. But playing on if you think you have a chance is part of the game. Edit: Also people taking a streamer's advice on resigning are probably at a low enough rating level that the eval is expected to swing throughout the game, so they really shouldn't be resigning.
@zizhdizzabagus456
@zizhdizzabagus456 3 года назад
@@dsrguru sure if you u have a chances of legit winning you can fight. im talking about cases when opp is dead lost, just hopping ridiculous moves in hope of blunder. i know its allowed by rules but i have no respect for such players. winning any way possible is not the point of a game. and Aman never said only never resign if you lowrated. he just keep on saying "never resign" every time he has a chance. its ruining a good game spirit. which is already became just a useless chase of rating points. what about enjoying a beauty of it, and playing for a great game, not necessary won game? we all are losers to an engines anyway, no human can really play chess well. its a proven fact. WE ALL SUX from 900 player to magnus carlsen. why dont we just try and play beautiful games then, respecting each other, like it used to be)
