tr.ee/T7sSZnpw9z Thank you for watching our ear wax removal video today. The ear wax extraction featured in todays video was carried out using endoscopic microsuction. This procedure uses a small camera called an endoscope to visualise inside the ear canal whilst a small suction tube is inserted to gently remove ear wax.
We can also use other tools to remove hard ear wax, foreign bodies, peeling dead skin or for ear infection removal.
All the ear wax cleaning videos you see on our channel are carried out by our ear wax specialists Mr Rhys Barber and Mr Taylor Green.
We post new ear cleaning videos Monday - Friday at 9PM GMT so if you find ear wax removal satisfying please consider subscribing to our channel.
Ear wax plays a vital role in ear health. It helps to prevent ear infection and helps with ear cleaning by picking up any dirt or debris that accumulates in the ear canal. Normally this ear wax would fall out of the ear taking any dirt or debris with it.
How to remove ear wax?
Many people use q-tips/cotton buds for ear wax removal at home this is one of the worst things you can put into the ear as this can lead to an increased ear wax buildup or in extreme cases impacted ear wax. The best way to remove ear wax is to let your ears clean themselves and not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears!
How do I know if I have an earwax blockage?
If you experience a change in your hearing, discomfort in the ear or jaw or a feeling of fullness in the ear canal you may have an ear wax blockage. Our advice is to speak to your Doctor or local Audiologist who can take a look in your ears and assess whether ear cleaning is needed.
To arrange an ear wax removal appointment please visit our website:

Thank you Taylor for making me hear again. I loved watching the video. I would have them done again just to relax but without the infection haha. All clear now after doc gave antibiotic spray.

I watch a lot of miniature dollhouse videos, and one thing that is VERY consistent is how much shake there is when they are working with small objects and need to use tools to assemble, glue, and so forth... it's just natural for most humans, so it's always astonishing to see how steady you both are with such small instruments. I'm sure this is gained with time, practice, and the need to be careful because of the potential pain and discomfort to another person. It's quite a skill, though, and you provide an amazing service with such genuine care that it gratifies me and gives me hope for humanity. Thank you. :)

Have you been part of the free trials of the flexible silicone-tip suction probe? I think Durham Hearing Specialists got a couple to try. Really good for odd shaped blockages, since the tip is soft and can conform to shape. I hope it becomes widely available. Not sure how long ago that was.

Is there any kind of armrests that you can use to support your arms while you work? Like an attachment to the patient's chair or a separate little stand. I know you've mentioned the need to maintain a bridge with your hands in case the patient moves around at all. I guess you would still want to have a full range of motion with your hands and wrists. I'm just wondering if you think it would be helpful to have some support for the weight of your arms?

Retired RN here, we did numerous ear lavages at our clinic, mostly in our Nurse Treatment Room. We required 3 days of oil use prior to lavage. It worked fairly well with that. A few instances we would use a liquid docusate sodium (stool softner,) to the canal for 30 minutes if needed, which then helped loosen it more.

I’ve seen some ear cleaning videos in which different tools are used to the ones you guys do. One of the tools looks very useful and practical for sticky dead skin: it’s like a flat long spatula. Goes nicely under the dead skin and peels it off so easily. Do you guys have such tools available?

Have you ever considered using a very thin inoculating loop to slide between the ear & the wax plug? It would loosen the plug without causing any suction effect or irritation to tissue.
