Love the art of the fighting shotgun. Looking forward to the rest of the series. The shotgun is always fun because it's a devastating weapon but also to run it well takes a lot of practice to keep it fed.

Have you ever been in a gunfight?

Dan omight thanks for watching...fortunately I haven’t been. Cruz on the other hand has been in several. He’s a highly decorated combat vet . He’s the real deal!

How many football coaches that have coached championship teams actually won championships as players?.....you don't have to experience combat to know the proper mechanics and procedures to win a fight. I know a few guys that have won gunfights but they would suck at teaching this stuff.......

@@bmphil3400 As a 21 yr police veteran I have been in and won two or I wouldn't be typing this. The thing that I have learned is that training most defiantly helps but as an individual you can never possibly know how you are going to react or even if your capable until you actually experience it. You may be the best and fastest shot on earth but in that 3 seconds I promise you the one thing that you never trained for IS going to happen and nothing you do is going to be smooth or pretty. And I have personally watched three different people male and female completely freeze. One of which caused one of my incidents to occur. I never should have said anything to you in the first place but sometimes people that have never actually been there, telling me what I should do just grates me the wrong way and on top of that you have no idea what's it's like to live with that the rest of your life. I've seen it destroy peoples lives. You said fortunately, that's the one thing you got right. I'm as big a gun nut as anyone could be but this is one thing you never want to learn about yourself. Most end up ok but the actual horror is when you realize that you liked it.

@@RobertoAfortunado I agree with you.....but as a civilian the best we can do is learn. My badge number is 0. I have no obligation to go into harm's way......I simply try to train for harm coming to me. I won't, however, discredit a teacher because he has never been in a gunfight. As you said, you can't really know until it happens....and don't want to know if you can avoid it. I have had to have guns out on people a couple of times....maybe 5 in my life (50 yrs). 3 of those they didn't know I had a gun in hand because my being behind cover didn't let them see my hands....other times I reached for the gun and the people backed off....... I have been lucky to train alot of de-escalation and avoidance as well as situational awareness. I actually stopped my late elderly father from shooting a man that was acosting him in a parking lot late at night......I did that by suddenly making it a 2 on 1 situation and I am much bigger and stronger than my elderly father so the man decided he didn't like the new odds. Getting hands up in the " fence" using verbal commands and being very willing to lay hands on kept that guy from dying and my father from going to jail. He would have been in the right due to disparity of force......but I managed to divert it and save a huge legal problem. My dad had a revolver in his hand and had cleared leather when I yelled at the guy....." Back Off!!!" And got both hands up and my feet moving. Later my dad got mad because I stepped in and he was afraid I was stepping into gunfire. I never want to be in a gunfight......but that's the reason we conceal carry......in case. I have been lucky to train with alot of very good teachers but I don't necessarily think you can teach that adrenaline dump reaction, so being shot at or in a gunfight is not my prerequisite for a teacher.... I value situational awareness above all.....with good awareness and avoidance you can avoid 90% of all unknown contacts on the street. Good situational awareness makes you look like a harder target......

I agree I wish you could train me to that more. 4 times invasions incidents and no one has to die. To me that’s a win.

Thanks for your perspective. In the past Greg's offered a free class to folks like you who don't agree with perspective on fighting with a shotgun. Most of these folks don't take classes, don't train, have never served the military and been in combat, and yet they criticize someone who has. Not one person he's invited to a free class, has ever showed up. Greg is highly decorated combat veteran, former chief instructor for Smith and Wesson, Air Marshal trainer, and recipient a bronze star for valor and has several purple hearts for various wounds he's received in multiple combat engagements. I'd encourage you to post your skills with shotguns on video (via youtube) and a history of your combat experience. Do that and I'll share with my subscribers and you'll have my respect. Be well and stay safe.
