"CRY HAVOC" A HORUS HERESY STORY by Vox in the Void - Reaction 

"Angron's about to make a lot of sense and it's going to hurt my feelings." His moments of lucidity are always painful and sad. He was screwed over from the beginning: mind, body, and soul. Even the Word Bearers knew he was too damaged.

This was the best short story I have heard for 30k. This truly made me feel for the world eaters and made them for a boring faction to a faction that I was so much more from. And this story shows you just how truly loyal the marines are. Even after everything he still wanted his father approval. And it you feel the true rage and sadness of this betrayal and how devastating it truly was for the loyalist.

Honestly. Imagine being Angron, you hate your legion for who they are not. So in your broken mind you decide upon a test, you will give them the choice you never got, to see if they are brave enough to stabd up to a tyrant (yes, you have to be that tyrant) and almost to a man, they all fail, they bow they're heads in servitude and submit to do something they should know is wrong. If he hated them before, after the nails, he despised them for not rising up and killing the tyrant who saught to enslave them. Yes, to a sane person this test is cruel beyond measure, but to a being as broken as Angron it was the only way he could test their character abd their courage.

Imagine fighting alongside men and women who broke bread with you, shed blood and tears with you, who fought alongside you and swore their honor and lives under you. Imagine being teleported against your will to leave them to die. Imagine witnessing their panicked faces at your sudden disappearance, their brother, their leader, their friend. Imagine feeling their hearts break, and instead of feeling rage and betrayal, only sadness and heartbreak within their spirits. Imagine watching them slaughtered like cattle, no glorious final stand, no honorable deaths, for with your absence, so too did their will to fight disappear. But most of all, imagine the same Highriders who murdered your brothers and sisters swear fealty to the Emperor, thus granting them his protection and by default yours. Not really hard to see why Angron easily turned against the Emperor and the Imperium.

I'd recommend checking out Vox in the Voids narration of "Wrath of Kharn". Kharn being an absolute swell guy as always.

I think using the term golden throne may have preceded the creation of the actual machine. I think that the emperor named his machine after that term because he heard that name already.

22:51 I know the *Golden Throne* lifesupport/lighthouse was a secret, but did the Emperor have a formal/recognized throne before? I haven't heard a specific reference to one, but it seems unlikely that a glowing golden demigod claiming to be the Emperor of the galaxy would not have an appropriately awe-inspiring throne room.

Its kind a weird to me that Angron would chastise him for not standing up and rejecting the implantation of the nails yet Angron, as far as I know, would kill them for standing up to him? That or the other Astartes would kill them for daring to do so? I still need to read the books but I've gathered that from what I've heard. Though I may be doing the World Eaters/Formerly War Hounds a disservice in assuming so.

Much as I love the story and tragedy I would keep in mind that by this point even the loyalist world eaters have committed more war crimes than every real life historic army throughout history combined.
