i met him at an event. it was love at first sight. i knew there was something about him, but i just decided to keep my feelings all by myself. it felt sad knowing that would be the last time i would’ve met him as i was going home after that. surprisingly, i went to another event the next day and he was there too. i saw him and felt the sparks again. what’s more surprising is that the event had group activities and we randomly get picked in the same group. we talked and i was falling harder. i knew it wasnt a coincidence, it’s like i was destined to meet him. it was the best conversation i ever had with a boy and i still remember how i smiled that day until today. he was funny, sweet, has the prettiest smile and he had the best laugh i have ever heard. the whole time i was talking to him, it felt like there was only the two of us in this world. i’ve never felt this way for someone. we exchanged numbers, he texted me and we got even closer. after that he confessed his feelings and told me how he fell for me since the first time he saw me. we started dating virtually and promised each other we will meet one day even though we live miles away from each other. not long after, i just got an invitation to an event which he also got too. i could have never been happier as i was so excited to meet him. before meeting him, i told him i was gonna get him gifts so i can give it to him when i meet him. i bought it extra early as i wanted everything to be perfect. things were going just right between us until he suddenly started getting distant. a week before the event, he completely ghosted me. for absolutely no reason. i was devastated. the whole time i waited for his reply, it was such a torture. i missed him so bad i tried looking for him in various social medias. even worse, the event got cancelled as well. sometimes i question myself, what did i do wrong? why did he have to leave me just at my feelings toward him was at its peak? couldnt he at least wait until we finally meet? i was extremely happy, and him suddenly leaving felt like my whole happiness was taken away in a blink of an eye. until today, the gifts are still at the corner at my room. it’s been a year. i miss you, love
He would be proud of me like a father, he would take care of me like a brother, he would teach me like a teacher, he would listen to me like a friend, but he could never be my lover.
