Because stablecoins like USDT are not actually stable. They are pegged to but not backed by USD. DeFi is growing but it doesn't mitigate the credit risk which was the reason for any debt crisis.

I seriously doubt that the Federal Government and the Big Banks will allow Crypto to seriously disturb the status quo. That, or the traditional finance system will subsume crypto into itself. If I know my history right, that’s how it usually goes.
Imagine relying on a bank to take out your funds when chaos happens, with crypto you can keep your assets in a stable coin or a few and deploy it a lot easier. The gov needs to stop making people report everything they do with a stable coin or crypto in general. We want the power of our own money, and money isn’t what you classify it as it’s what we classify it as. Who would want to hold their assets in USD that loses value over time. If you have little money I could see why you don’t see the difference but damn it’s the future and the gov. Shouldn’t be able to tell us what we have to report because if we have to report every transaction it wouldn’t make any sense like we don’t report every cash transaction. F*** BIG GOV. Tapping into global Investments like crypto should be a right for people and not have to pay taxes on less than 100,000 a year in transactions. It’s simple it would force the gov to start spending our taxes accordingly instead of on just anything and we would have financial freedom while still supporting the countries taxes.
