Hey The CryptoDad I have a question. So I have an Android phone, and I just try to download theTangem app. And they are saying that don't have the app for my phone.. so do that mean have to get another app or another phone to use this Tangem!??? Can somebody answer my question please,
With 6 cards is possible to create 5 different wallets. You delete backup, and write a new wallet on top of it. Thus 5 cards with 5 wallets can be easily created. The 6th card will be one of the 5 wallets backup 😂.
Hey crypto dad just subscribed thanks for the coupon code for the Tangem cards! I had a question I tested using my seed phrase that I generated from Tangem on the Kaspium app and it displayed a different receiving address so I couldn’t see my Kaspa. I only tested it with 1 Kaspa but yea why doesn’t it show the same address from Tangem on Kaspium ? I just wanted to see how I would recover my Kaspa if I lost all cards for example I know not to import cold wallet phrase into hot wallet but I was just testing it I will factory reset cards after
Sure you would just do a wallet to wallet transfer like I did in the video. go ahead and set up your new Wallet, and then you can swipe between your Tangem wallets in the app. You can send your crypto back-and-forth that way without having to go through an exchange.
@@CryptoDad i thought that was what you were showing in the vid too , Thank you for the answer to my question , that part when right iver my head i guess lol im gonna watch it again
Appreciate the video. The video that simply isn’t out there is how to move a seedless tangem set from an old phone to a new phone. Would love to be directed on how this process works so I don’t screw something when I upgrade phones or heaven for bid, lose my phone. It is weird there are NO videos for this process. Restoring using a seed phrase is pretty straight forward.
you would literally just download the app on the new phone and scan the tangem card on it, enter your access code... job done. You can actually test this out just by doing it on someone elses phone... like a friend or family member..
Hello, I am confident you will find an answer to my question: I own a set of Tangem 2.0 cards and would like to add another set to my iOS app. When pressing the menu with three dots, the settings page appears, but the "Add new wallet" option is not visible. Therefore, I am unable to add another set of Tangem cards to have two separate wallets. Can you help me? Thank you for sharing your great experience on the channel.
i have heard if your phone contains malware or spyware, there's a possible hack vector when you enter seed phrase on your phone.. but I dont know any details
I was gonna ask what's a Kaspa?...and have answered my own question, it's another crypto token...? by the way, it's dandruff in my native language, kaspa...whoever started this. Thanks for the informative video 👍
Thanks for the video CryptoDad I just had one critical question.. What if i lose all of my associated cards And at the same time Tangem for instance goes bankrupt and doesn’t offer any more new cards on sale Can i still operate my wallet by recovering through the seed phrase , Without having to need a physical Tangem wallet Card ?
Hi Sir, I bought the Tangem wallet about one month back. I set it up without a seed phrase, can I do a factory reset and generate a seed phrase ? Thank you
Hey Dad, Help me here, please. I created a Sync Vechain wallet with the mnemonic words and I confirmed the mnemonic words at the end. Said that, 2 years later, I had a problem with my laptop and I deleted everything to start from ZERO. When I tried to restore Sync Wallet using these mnemonic words it gave me an empty and different wallet. Why is it giving me a new empty wallet instead of my previous wallet with coins? Cheers
There's really no way around this, seeing as how the card has no key entry and no display. The original intention of the card was to generate a private key that never left the card and was totally secure. The backup cards were imprinted during the setup process, without ever revealing the private key. This was a really safe and secure way of managing the private key because it was never presented to the user in any way or form. However, there were too many people that were complaining that they might lose all three cards or the cards might be damaged. So Tangem, responding to user pressure, created the seed phrase option. I totally get it. It's counterintuitive to enter the seed phrase into the app, but that's the only way they could pull this scenario off. If that seems sketchy to you, then you should use the cards as originally intended and just rely on your card backups. If relying on the card backups only makes you nervous, then you should probably use a different type of hardware wallet, like a ledger or a Trezor that has a dedicated input and device display for initializing seed phrases and recovering seed phrases.
Before one minute to the video...if one may have lost all 3 cards, but what about if I've lost my phone? how can those cards be helpful to restore your cryptos to a new phone?
Can you please make a video on how to clone a trezor wallet with seed phrase to a Tangem wallet and would you then be able to use both the trezor and Tangem?
I needed this video, thanks. I tried to set up my wallet using 12 words but on the check step one of the words was not accepted although it was correct. Tried 3 times. So tried 24 words and set up successfully . Now I want to do a restore just to make sure the 24 words will be accepted. If I do this restore and for some reason it does not accept a word would I still be able to transfer my funds off of my original wallet so that I could start over. I trust my words are correctly written down, just don’t trust tangem accepting them. Thanks
If you have funds in the wallet now, you should move them somewhere else before you attempt a reset and restore. Generally, the way I do it when I set up a brand new wallet, (it doesn’t matter which manufacturer or which type) you should always set up the wallet, write down the backup, and then just send a small amount in. Maybe just 20 bucks worth. Then wipe and restore to make sure that your phrase is correct and will be accepted. After that, you can start putting lots of crypto in the wallet. But don’t risk a large amount of crypto on a test that might fail. Move the crypto somewhere else first like Coinbase and then you can put it back after you have confirmed for your phrase.
Thank you for your helpful videos. I just started using Tangem and really like it! I went to my old ledger to move funds into it and the ledger is dead. Tried charging. nothing. I don't really want to have to buy a new ledger and restore using my 24 word seed phrase and then move funds into Tangem...couldn't I just restore directly into Tangem using my ledger seed phrase and skip the new ledger purchase? I hope so. thanks for the answer..
Hi , thank you for the new tangem wallet video. This is going to be my first wallet , and I will need to transfer from craken to it , hope to see a video explaining how to do that! Thanks again
I moved a small amount of ethereum from coinbase to my tangem wallet it shows on coinbase completed and success it's been over one and half hours is that normal to take that long to receive in the wallet. Thanks
What happen when mobile is lost or damaged? Can we able to restore with new mobile app gets installed or reinstalling app again in same old mobile with card?
you should still be able to access with your accounts as long as you have the cards, but if you don't know where your seed phrase is, it would be a good idea to set up and entirely new wallet (with tangem or another brand) and transfer your coins to that. So that your coins are no longer sitting in a wallet to which the seed phrase may be in someone else's hands...
tangem may be a good wallet, but their customer service is horrible. they are bunch of amateurs. I would not trust them with a single cent, let alone my asstes. Stay away if you can!
You really didn’t understand me. I never got to a point that actually used this wallet. Their customer support was so bad when I ordered the wallet that it turned me off and I bought my wallet elsewhere. I understand how cryptos work thank you
Not my experience at all. So far they have been nothing but professional. Me thinks you have a personal axe to grind with them… not an objective response…
Transfer fees are high on the Bitcoin Blockchain for any wallets. This is because there is a lot of activity on the chain. And when this happens, transfer fees go up. This is independent of any wallet.
It would be a little tricky to set up, but it can be done. Keep in mind that when you sync the “card set” to a new phone, you’re going to need all three cards. Because when you bring in one card from a set, the set up, will ask to register the two back up cards. But once you set up the “card set”with three different phones, each person can take one card and use it to access the crypto. Not sure if that’s an ideal solution though because that would mean that each person would have full access to the crypto stored on that cards. So it would have to be two other people you trust with your crypto. You’re much better off just buying three card sets .You can set up the first set with the seed phrase. And then the other two card sets can be restored from that seed phrase on the other phones. That way, each person would have a full card set with access to the same crypto. That’s a much more robust solution than splitting up a set among three people.
Hey Crypto dad, thanks for the vid. A question please if I had a Tangem wallet with funds on it and I lost all three cards can I do a restore on another new set of cards with the same seed phraze and password, will the funds still be there on the new set of cards?
I'm assuming with the new Tangem wallets (cards) if we were unlikely to lose all 3 of them we could just order new cards and with the seed phrase restore our crypto that was on the lost Tangem cards?
My discount code works for me on their website. Are you sure you used CRYPTODAD in all caps in the "Promo code" field and hit that arrow on the right side to apply it?
Unfortunately, no. The old cards do not have a seed phrase that you can restore from. You would need to buy a set of the new cards, generate the seed phrase, and then manually transfer all of the coins you have to the new card. Then you can generate as many new sets as you want from that seed phrase.
It is in fact, a cold wallet. The private key is held on the card. In other words the private key is stored off-line. This is the definition of a cold wallet. There is no way to move crypto out of the phone based app without the card.
Well, I just checked my Tangem Wallet and they do support VET but it is not native vet. It is Binance, smart chain based vet I don’t know if they’re planning on supporting native vet or not.
I moved 10 xrp to my new tangem wallet it comes up in transaction history that it was a success but on the main page it shows 0 xrp balance ? . Do you know why thanks crypto Dad
Yes, any XRP wallet has to be initialized with 10 XRP. This is called the reserve requirement. support.atomicwallet.io/article/43-why-10-xrp-is-an-unspendable-balance
Rex - How is this even remotely safe? I thought the number one rule was to NEVER input your seed words into your phone??????? NEVER.....EVER...input your seed words into an internet connected device. Was this already addressed previously?
you need seed phrase to access your wallet from different app. And he showed how you access your wallet with SAME wallet hack, and even increase backup cards. It was mind blowing😂. But when you understand that pc can emulate inside pc, well now all makes sense 😅
In the settings there is an option reset the cards to factory condition. But make sure the the card is empty or you have a backup before doing a reset. It is irreversible.
Unfortunately, no. I asked them if they would send me one and they said they’re not really ready for distribution yet. The ones that they handed out in Dubai were just prototypes. They promised me they’ll send me one as soon as they’re available probably quarter one of next year.
Well the terms are somewhat interchangeable. In the case of the Tangem wallet, the access code gives you access to the card. But you only need to use it when you are setting up the wallet or pairing your cards to a new phone. Once that is done, you don’t need it to access the wallet. Passcode usually is a synonym for PIN code which would need to be entered each time. The Tangem app has a PIN code, but I usually replace this with my phone biometrics like Face ID. A passphrase for a crypto wallet is an addition layer of security on top of the seed phrase. Tangem wallets do not support passphrases. Seed phrase is the 12 words
@@baronsilverbaron757 You know what? I think I must have misspoke before, because I'm looking at the app settings, and I see that the access code that you set up at the beginning also needs to be put in to open up the app. So the access code and the pin code in this case are the same. But if you go into the app settings of the app by tapping the three dots in the top right, there is a toggle switch that says save access code. When you enable this you have to use your biometrics instead of the access code.
When I created my tangem wallet I did it without the seed phrase option, however then I decided i wanted a seed phrase so i did the factory reset thinking there would be the option again to create a new wallet with seed phrase, however when I went to create a new wallet again, the seed phrase was not an option for me. So my question is, does the option of generating a seed phrase only come up during the first initial wallet creation? Once you decide not to create a seed phrase, you then can't factory reset to get a seed phrase? Like I said it wasn't an option for me anymore the 2nd time around, quite a bummer
Not really sure why that happened to you. Because on my first attempt with my new set of Kaspa commemorative cards, I actually went through the entire process and realized I forgot to hit record. So I had to do a factory reset and start over and this time make sure I was recording. But I still had the option to either generate or restore from a seed phrase. Are you sure that the wallet you reset supported the seed phrase?
@@CryptoDad yeah they are the all black Tangem 2.0 cards ordered just a few weeks ago... maybe the factory reset was done so soon after the initial wallet creation (within a minute or two) that it didn't have enough time to fully reset or something? I don't really want to try again since I have since sent crypto to the wallet
@@dannravv what if I buy another set of 2 cards, could I create the seed phrase upon initial setup of those cards, then transfer my crypto from the old cards wallet to the new one with seed phrase, then factory reset the old cards and then add them to the new wallet with seed phrase so then I'll have 4 cards to that wallet?
Thank you for this helpful video. If I have the old Tangem wallets can I transfer my crypto on the old wallets to the new Tangem wallets if I buy the new wallets? By the way I took advantage of your discount code and placed my order. I do have the older set of Tangem wallets but I like the additional seed phrase option of these new Tangem wallets.
Sure, you'll be able to move the crypto from one wallet to the other. You just won't be able to do a restore like I did. Since the original cards had no backup phrase. But if you watch the video, I'm moving crypto between my Tangem wallets so that might help you wrap your head around the process.
