Back in 2005 or something I was backstage with Cryptopsy drinking a beer after the show and talked to him and he is such a nice and smart guy! You can't fool him because he will be on to you. We were joking about alot of stuff..it was really cool
I met him after a show in 2005. There's no arrogance or anything to him. He was just hanging out where fans could easily find him and would talk to anybody. I talked to him for a few minutes, and he gladly signed my copy of "Once Was Not" for me. Cryptopsy just isn't the same without him, and I'm sad to see that he has no active projects right now. I hope he returns in the near future with something new. Hail the worm!
Had a chat in 2001 with Eric when they Toured europe in september with vader, kataklysm and Dying Fetus. He was little harsh in thé beginning but after talking about thé anatomy of ...and then it passes he got interested and became much more friendly.

I think his statement about people trying to be other bands is really good, it's honest and it's applaudable, not many people bother to say anything about the bands that are copying other bands. And he's right, you won't be as big as the band you're copying, because the band you're copying did it first.

he left from health reasons and possibly financial.... in some interviews he talked about how he needed to be able to live off of cryptopsy and at the time it wasn't bringing him any income

I wanted someone who could sing and also do all the nasty stuff you find in extreme metal. There are parts in the songs that call for that, and Lord Worm couldn’t do that. It was time for a change. I tend to think of the Hypocrisy mistake of "Catch 22" I think it was called... Look at how amazing the following album was after that, and the albums that followed afterward. I think every band has to experiment and go through member changes at some time, and not all changes are always productive, but the mark of a great artist of any form is the ability not only to learn from your successes, but also your failures. I'm sure Cryptopsy is capable of this.
What the fuck ever, I fucking loved Catch 22. I don't give a fuck what anyone even the band members says about it, it was a completely solid fucking album from start to finish from every note to the end. The following album "The Arrival" is absolutely amazing in every way as well, but probably even more so. Whatever I'd love to talk Hypocrisy with you sometime my brother!
Not exactly, but I met up with him after a show in chicago along with a crowd of other people. I asked what to expect for the next album and he replied with "I hope you like blasphemy... (made flesh)" Since then, I believe he has came out with this statement but I have also heard the album will sound like Whisper Supremacy mixed with BMF. I am unsure if that had been writing the album at the time, but I'm certain they had a direction. Flo did, at least.
There you have it. Both sides of the story. I can imagine both of them being true. I can also imagine it's hard to live off of Cryptopsy, unless you do sideprojects like Flo's drum dvd's.
@stoicfan .... Just .,.. Lord Worm Left the band because Of heath problems (lungs). He cannot tour anymore. He said it was in the band's best interest to leave at that moment and let someone else take his place. Also, this is why there is a video right here on RU-vid posted in Nov. 2011 of a show in Montréal(Cryptopsy's Hometown) With all three vocalists : Matt, Mike DiSalvo and Lord Worm. He was not kicked from the band, but you probably will not see him anywhere else than Montréal or around.
Funny, he says you can go anywhere and find metalheads... I live in the northern peninsula of michigan.... and as far as I know I am the only major death metal fan in my university/area. maybe with the exception of one or two people but the numbers are slim... it's lonely up here
i thouroughly enjoyed once was not, but i agree that none so vile was there best. bmf would be if it didnt sound like it was produced in a closet though

Lord Worm is a genious, I love his work. He remindes me alot of Randy Blythe (Lamb of God.) As far as Flo being a dickhead, he seems like he's be a really cool person. He does drum clinics and stuff...when I asked for his autograph he was really cool about it.
@@williamsmith666 wow, a 14 year old comment! That's nearly half a lifetime ago! I would have been 20 when I wrote this, so maybe don't get too worked up about it. I was blessed by Lord Worm himself, I was front and centre when they were on their Once Was Not tour. But, I was talking about him as a person and not as a musician, their music is completely different metal styles.
No I talked with Flo during a Clinic in Toronto and Flo said that the reason they asked Lord Worm to leave the band was because he didnt have wide enough of a voice range and they wanted a singer who would sing clean and death growls with diffrent pitches. Thats why they chose Matt. buh i dissagree

@AQganon I sure hope so, but that deathcore pig squealing will kinda ruin it for me vocally, and I never liked his lyrics compared to Lord Worms. Plus why the sudden change eh? Maybe the experimental stuff they tried didn't go well with the fans (as we've seen lol) It won't sound the same I doubt. I mean without the original guitarists and bassist how is just the drummer going to help a whole lot with guitars, unless he's good at guitar too. Where'd you here that by the way?
