I had the honor of watching this man do a drum clinic in my home town when I was a teenager.. Still one of the greatest days of my life.. Shook his hand.. Sat at his drum kit.. Fuck marriage that shit was way better.
This guy is so cool. We talked after a show 2 years ago, I'm a drummer. And he showed me parts from songs using his hands on his chest. He slowed it down to show the intricacies that are hard to understand on the records alone. Insane lesson. Insane cool guy.

I remember watching this video when I was 14-15... 28 now, I've been listening to metal music for half of my life, and this is still one of my favourite drum playthroughs, perfect amount of technique, incredible intensity and taste, this is the quintessential metal performance, raw.. violent... Flo is a legend
I'd love to see another drummer fill in for him live just to hear what the reactions would be from#1 not seeing flo and#2 hearing what the session drummers thoughts were learning the material
They master their Muscle memory and tempo, you have to play a song a lot to achieve it, drummers are the masters of muscle memory, guitarrists can just learn sections more easily since they doesnt change sections as much as extreme drummers do, but still hard when it is too technical.
Yeah I've learned songs not as hard as this but definitely fast and some intricate parts and it is all practicing the songs over and over until you can just play it forever
he's talking about around 3:40...a mute is when you grab the cymbal to stop the ringing...and there really is no point in doing that on a hi-hat cause you could close it with your feet....it may give a slightly different sound though
I actually haven't really listened to cryptopsy but I,m not gonna dog on them just because I never really heard them before. Their drummer is talented and ridiculous, I wish I could play at his speed. I will now watch more of flo's videos
i was just talking about the sheer size of bozzio's kit. The only thing I've heard of him is when he played live with Fantomas in Italy. And that wasn't even his own work, he was filling in for Dave Lombardo
