Merry Christmas everyone! As a little Christmas surprise, I had the idea of working on another piece from "Terranigma" that many of you asked for in the comments section or via direct messages. So here's my attempt on the famous theme for "Crysta", the hometown of Terranigma's protagonist Ark. I've put a lot of work and heart into this one because I think there are not many original video game compositions out there that deliver so much emotion and - at the same time - tell a whole story in one "little" theme.
So please enjoy "Crysta" and let m know what you think :)!
The outstanding soundtrack of Terranigma was originally composed by Miyoko Kobayashi (Takaoka) and Masanori Hikichi.

You start the journey in a village full of people with a girl who loves you dearly. You journey on, make new friends, learn horrible truths, save lives, lose friends and watch the world go on. You end the journey coming back but the village is not the same, your friends are dead, your loved ones gone. You saved the world, but at a great cost. You walk around reminiscing before falling into a deep sleep and having your last dream... It was a dream of becoming a bird and seeing the world grow older...

A week ago was my mother’s funeral. We had the service delivered by a pagan chaplain, who I asked if this was appropriate accompaniment to the casket being lowered into its resting place in a woodland burial. She eagerly agreed and said it was beautiful music. Mum’s family and friends were very moved and I felt like a milestone had been passed in processing this very painful loss. Thank you.

damn, this is so beautiful, Flashbacks, how i used to rush home after School to continue terranigma, fuck homework, didn't even wanna go to football training or playing Tennis with my friends, just drowning in this wonderful Fantasy realm and imagining how a real terranigma world would look like. no yt walkthroughs, no speedruns, just exploring, searching, cursing, enjoying. please nintendo or square, give us a remaster with beautiful hd2d sprites and hire this man to make this wonderful sounds happen in the game :)

I dont get why people always want "remakes" of something that is actually nearly perfect or beautiful ... every kind of a remake would destroy all the nostalgia and for sure, it could never be as good as the original. So No ! No remake ever !

It's difficult to grasp why this particular song hits just so unbelievably hard. Please never stop doing those arrangements! Terranigma is still one of the best games out there. Maybe you can do some other RPGs from back in the day.

Your video description about sums it up... the original version is so beautiful and emotional... and you, *somehow*, managed to create something that is even better and takes the melody of my childhood to the modern day and age. I requested this theme in your last Terranigma Cover's comments section, and this popping up in my feed made my Christmas. I can't thank you enough. I'm deeply touched by the fact you made this theme for me and other fans who requested it. I tell this to all of my friends who also love Terranigma and its OST: You're probably one of, if not the most underrated composer on RU-vid. I love every single one of your Terranigma covers, and while your other tracks may not deliver the retro throwback that your Terranigma covers can deliver, they are also truly beautiful. I wish you the best of luck and success in your future career on RU-vid and off RU-vid, and I want to thank you again for this magnificent piece. It's so beautiful. The one and only time in my life where I absolutly didn't want to go to sleep. Not wanting it to end. Wanting to keep this music playing forever. This arrangement... It really makes it feel like you've captured the essence of the "thank you" and "good bye" the game was trying to give the player, with that slight, sweet but still note of "one day we'll meet again". And that's while feeling these that I thank you as well for making such beautifull, full of feelings, arrangements of one of the game that made my childhood.

Popular under those knowing the title. It would be more popular if it Camembert out earlier. Iirc it came out near the end of snes era and when the PS1 came around as the next gen console everyone hyped. I am so glad my older brother got a SNES and brought me into the retro scene, loving this godblessed game

Ich höre nun schon viele Jahre diesen Soundtrack / Cover. Mit Abstand das Beste akustische Material zu Terranigma. Sollte es irgendwann mal einen Film oder eine Serie geben, sollten sich die Macher an deine Versionen halten. Für mich immer wieder eine sehr bewegend.
