When it comes to covering archetypes, I love this channel so much. As someone who stopped playing for over a decade, this is so informative and useful for me. Seeing what may ir may not work, getting a full breakdown, and the puns lol. Been subbed since you guys were around 3/4k and so glad to see the growth! Keep it up
While I sometimes feel alone in saying this; I love what they did with the intended play style of the deck with the Structure deck. Like, that play style always was and always will be using 7 names to summon the OG Rainbow Dragon and...something for there. But much like most anime aces, RD can't keep up with the meta because it wasn't very good to begin with. So like Utopia, they gave it a stronger version you just slap to top when you summon it. And this one wins the game like it's Anime!Obelisk. Now the deck is almost like an Exodia-type deck; with more pieces but one's a non-OPT searcher, the another is a summoner for the searcher, and the last is a OPT double-searcher. You still have 4 that do nothing and a 5th that just checks your win con, but the high searchability makes up the difference I think. And I am just. So happy they made Rainbow Dragon into a win condition while still encouraging you play it and without replacing any of Jesse's monsters...well, without replacing 6 of them. I'd say they don't even need to anymore, much as people still ask for retrains of the whole deck for some reason. because you just run them for the names but the names grant the win condition and you just need to search them out. The deck has a highly-searchable non-OPT searcher, so it's hard to think of a monster effect that Crystal Beasts (as intended) need. They need retrains like the Exodia-limbs do. And as someone very invested in the identity of anime decks being upheld and their keeping with iconic anime cards; that's very impressive to me.
this was really well made! i ended up buying three copies of the structure deck at my local game store (remembering that buying triple in the past helped me with other SDs) and was really surprised at how solid it was even if you only had one copy of the deck! i really enjoy how versatile this archetype is, especially for XYZ summons if you're in a pinch or even Synchro summons if you're running some of the hand-trap Tuner girls. i'm excited to get all the (mostly UR) points i need to build my deck on Master Duel-- hopefully they add the new cards to MD soon, so i can workshop the deck some more before i take it to my local weekly. (some crystal beast accessories would definitely be awesome too-- imagine how pretty a crystal mat would be, or how cute Ruby Carbuncle would be as an accompanying pet!! ;_;)
I wish they’re like some Extra Deck Monsters that operate around their archtype mechanics. Like treat them as evolve forms, so it’s still the same line-up. I feel like it could work for them. As well as allow some backrow flexibility. Synchros it can be: “For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 "Crystal Beast" Monster Card you control as a Continuous Spell on the Field as a Tuner.” Fusion can have: “Must be Fusion Summoned or Special Summon this Card from the Extra Deck by tributing 2 “Crystal Beast” Monster Cards on the Field.”
Some quick things to mention to aspiring crystal beast players. Rainbow Dragon and rainbow gravity requires exactly 7 crystal beast monsters, meaning if crystal rainbow dragon or the coming advanced is in the grave in addition to atleast 1 of each other crystal beast, you cannot summon rainbow dragon In addition, crystal tree doesn't let you choose the amount you set to your backrow, only the amount of counters it has, meaning if you go above 5 counters somehow, it cannot be used and is stuck on the field
To first part: I don't think that's correct but y'all usually won't have more than 7 anyway so it doesn't really matter To second part:a personal piece of advice is to use tree as soon as it gets to 2 or 3 counters
I hope Advanced Dark Crystal Beast n Rainbow Dark Dragon get support in the future to make them A) A standalone deck n B) more splashable in Crystal Beast in general I'll also would love to see Rainbow Dark Dragon also get fusions and a Advanced Crystal Beast form like Rainbow Dragon got
Well i could see support for advanced crystal beasts going in a few ways A field spell fusion of rainbow ruins and advanced dark(which counts as the later and makes all your crystal beasts and ultimate crystal monsters dark monsters no matter where there at(meaning it's extremely easy to summon rainbow dark dragon. Since there is technically a crystal beast rainbow dragon there's nothing stopping the same for advanced crystal beasts. Same with the rainbow dark dragon getting fusions of his own. As for splashing them in crystal beasts... That could be alleviated by having the hypothetical field spell or another card allow you to treat crystal beast monsters as advanced crystal beasts.
I made a crystal beast deck in nexus but it was subpar, however after the structure deck cards came out I went back and fixed it and now it’s one of my favourites
Great video, I've been using crytstal beasts since day one💙 i cant wait until the new support comes to master duel, it wont make CB-s a meta deck, but it's going to make them much better and relevant
So happy to see the Hamon tech choice in the mix! I used to run CB back in the day and it was one of my favorite tricks not many saw coming. Glad to see them making a potential comeback!
I have a Crystal Beast and a Gem-Knight deck 🪨 💎 😄 I used to like rocks as a kid and now I like them on my trading cards 🪨 😊 Definitely subbed and can’t wait for the Leo & Luna for 40K, I’m a big fan of 5Ds and have a lot of those decks 😄 (Blackwing, Red Dragon Archfiend, Morphtronics) Love the energy and passion in your voice, and super good to see Neshy in the video too! 😃
I remember the good old days of Abundance OTK, when I was playing Magical Hats to grab 2 Releases to get 2 in the backrow, and Kuraz the Light Monarch to pop my own CBs to the backrow to draw more. Ah, memories, haha
It is my ALL TIME FAVE DECK since their debut in GX... how they are unique and dazzling in the field... and summoning their boss monster RAINBOW DRAGON... it is a worth pay to set up everything for RAINBOW DRAGON... I even build it with synergy of SHIELD-BEARER AND BYSSTED cards... I'm proud to be a Crystal Beast user... 🌈🌈🌈
If they were gonna do an entire structure deck they should have just retrained the entire Archetype to take advantage of the Pendulum Mechanic. Make a new Rainbow Dragon that counts the Field and Face Up in the Extra Deck as well
I think the problem with that idea is; if they were gonna do that, is there even a reason to keep them Crystal Beasts instead of a new deck? Especially since they are an anime deck, and the worst ones make up 3 quaters of what Jesse played. Like, I know there are people who want specifically CBs to be good as opposed to just a similar-yet-different deck; but I presume a good portion of them are anime fans who want to play Jesse's stuff. Or at least his ace.
I always had a crystal abundance in my crystal beast deck when I built the deck and for a few years (I even used it before it’s pre structure deck support came out and when it hasn’t gotten support for a few years)
Funny enough, Last Resort is the only piece of crystal beast support that has not been reprinted with any of the past waves of support. I would be amazed if they reprint it for Battles of Legend: Crystal Revenge, but I highly doubt they would.
it's definitely not the strongest deck in the world, but yesterday I managed to summon all bosses in one duel in sequence to stop by opponent from doing anything and just went face with 11k. it's one of the most fun decks I've ever played, plays good with the 3x structure and it's easy to build according to personal preferences
In 2009 when i was hitting locals hard for like 5 months i brought a crystal beast deck until i won a single local. I have not been to a tcg local since
crystal beasts are in a weird spot where there's only 2-3 good monsters, with the rest being terrible, while most of the backrow is fucking incredible. seriously, the spell and trap support is fucking nutty, but the monster set really needs new members... that aren't the advanced idiots.
Wait, are you able to perform an overlay with a crystal beast card that's in the backrow? They talk about pegasus like he's summoning a second monster but that's not what's happening right?
I think the biggest bummer about the crystal pendulums besides the rule changes is just how uncreative they are. Like when I first heard about them I thought oh wouldn't it be sick to pendulum summon other crystals in the back row including themselves, effectively just having ruby's effect on a scale. Or even like a dracoslayer type effect where you could pop a beast to get it in the back row then search the opposite scale. I feel like konami should take another shot at crystal pendulums if they give this deck more legacy support in future, the monsters literally turn into continuous spells it feels obligatory.
I’ll always say crystal beast should had been the first pendulum or should had pendulum retrain. Just having them in the back ground doing nothing will we have pendulum and artifacts feel like a waist but Jessie made me love crystal beast so I still play it.
I've actually used cobalt. to recycle cards like ruby it wouldn't be hard to make cobalt broken. imagine It's ability as a quick eft. or I'd it could do it to the opt.
Gains atk for every continuous spell on the field. When you mentioned Gravi-crush and Magna-slash I figured I'd share another dragon I use with my crystal beast deck that utilizes their field abilities.
The pendula monsters should have counted as ultimate crystal cards or crystal beast. I really wish they were crystal beast. I want to run them in my deck so bad like my free honest practically and the other one was a searcher like come on really Why couldn't have been crystal beast
I'm actually kinda surprised you didn't mention The Despair Uranus. It can protect your back row when it's on the field and get stronger for each of your crystals.
@@danielramsey6141 Here's it's effect, 'When this card is Tribute Summoned while you control no Spells/Traps: You can activate this effect; your opponent declares either Continuous Spell or Continuous Trap, then you Set 1 card of that type directly from your Deck. This card gains 300 ATK for each face-up Spell/Trap you control. Face-up cards in your Spell & Trap Zone cannot be destroyed by card effects.'
