My husband and I danced our first dance to this song at our wedding on January 16th 1984 to this beautiful song. He has since passed away but this still has such beautiful memories for me ❤️🙏
So sorry for your loss💖This song was a big part of our wedding as well, in 85'...as a suggestion by a women who sang beautifully a portion of its lyrics as part of our church wedding (vs. the song 'Just the Two of Us', also popular at the time...and thought to be not quite right for the church)
My husband and I danced to this as our first together as man and wife. That was May 5, 1984 and he passed away August 21, 2010. I still miss you Louis.
It`s remarkable, and highly enjoyable the way handsome Eddie Rabbit always sings this song so perfect! I love the way he says "CRYSTAL" at the end of the song!! I just wish he hadn't SMOKED! I`ve lost wonderful people to smoking......
I just realized he sang the second verse when she came in and she changed up mid word to be with him. What a true professional she is! My wife and I have sang this for many weddings and I love this song. RIP Eddie! Hawaiian Dave
They both belong in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Eddie’s been gone almost 21 years now. Disgraceful his wife and children are being denied enjoying that honor. He had something like a 10 year unbroken string of number one hit singles!! Crystal needs to be coming up for consideration also.!
This is beautiful! This was our wedding song 25 years ago (1986) and it still gets to me everytime I hear it. It is so full of meaning and is a beautiful love song.
I was in the 7th grade at Chaparral Middle School when I first remember hearing this song. My mom and dad had an cassette by Eddie Rabbitt I think that it was titled the very best of Eddie Rabbitt. He was really great. I remember his song Every Which Way but Loose. Crystal Gayle was my first celebrity crush in the 7th grade. I was 12 and a half years old then. Crystal Gayle took ahold of my heart. I am 50 and a half now and still feel the same. I liked Eddie Rabbitt's music too because his voice was very unique and very distinct. This was just one of the best duets ever recorded in country music history. Crystal Gayle was my first celebrity crush from the spring of 1986 and then K T Oslin was my celebrity crush in the fall of 1988. Lorrie Morgan became my celebrity crush in late December of 1989. Sara Evans has been my celebrity crush since September of 2003. I am 50 and a half now and Sara Evans still has a place in my heart. I think that country music has a unique way of reaching to a man or a woman's heart. This duet is just one example
Thirty years after Stanford University as a foreign student I am still moved when we sing this song taking long walks in summer sunsets on Greek Island beaches.... Many thanks and God Bless you Eddie wherever you may be....
Crystal is a sweetheart. I live in Nashville and worked with her during the CMAs. My father was and still is a huge Crystal fan. While backstage, I called my dad but didn't say a word. The next thing my father heard on the phone was Crystals voice saying hello to him. She's a class act.
It must have been a REAL thrill. I can say that I got to see them perform this once a long time ago. They did a Show in Houston...this was the HIGHLITE of the Show..atleast to me it was.
@twinPaula12 What an awesome song! Oh please bring back the 1980S. It was my era, my time to grow up and my time as a teenager...what a wonderful time!
You have just found another Crystal Gayle addict from the 1980s. This song came out in 1982 when I was a Freshman in High School. One of my personally favorite songs which touched my heart (I wanted a boyfriend back then--I was lonely and a romantic). Those were innocent days of great songs across the board. Hail Generation Xers
This was our song at our wedding too. We just had celebrated our 41st anniversary. Sadly to say my husband passed away four weeks before our anniversary ! I love this song it will be my heart forever.
The line is "we care and trust each other" which couples should say to each other every day. I have to watch this video often as Eddie and Crystal are such super talents which we don't see much of these days. Thank you again for posting - Paula
Just you and I Sharing our love together And I know in time We'll build the dreams we treasure And we'll be all right, just you and I. And I remember our first embrace That smile that was on your face The promises that we made. And now, your love is my reward And I love you even more Than I ever did before Just you and I We can entrust each other With you in my life They'll never be another We'll be all right, just you and I
she's really good he messed-the words and she went right along without missing a beat ! even the great ones mess up from time to time. I think she was perfect in every way
I will be married 34 years on the 29th of September and this was my / our wedding song and I'm just as emotional with this song as I was 34 years ago ..what a beautiful song and the lyrics are so true and real ...we are living them and thank you both! Im sure my husband feels the same ..he actually picked it xoxo
This was my husband and I favorite song. I would call the radio station and dedicate it to him while he was at work. We were blessed with 45 years before he passed away last March. It has been 10 months and I wish he could come home. God bless and love you always
28 years ago Our Wedding Song. When I feel down and lonely because of misunderstanding, I listen to this song again and it brings back my promise to her. Then everything will be alright.
My sweetie and I took our vows on October19th, 1984 and this was our wedding song. I will never forget the wonderful feeling that came with being in her arms as we danced to "Just You And I", I still get that same feeling when I am with my Beth. This October it will be 28 years and, We are still on our honeymoon!! I Love You Beth!
I remembered our first embrace, that smile that was on your face, the promises that we made. Now your love is my reward and I love you even more then I ever did before. We made it you and I. This song is so wonderful.
This song is so beautiful and Eddie and Crystal are awesome. They are both such terrific artists and put so much emotion into this song which makes it even more special. They both look gorgeous here. What a duo. I have never heard this classic done so perfectly. We sure do miss Eddie. Wow, what an ending to this here. Thank you for posting this winner. - Paula (PaulinaRena)
For all those IN LOVE please remember your first embrace, the look on Her or His face, the promises that were made because that is what will pull you through during tough times. Believe that things will be alright. Love to all.....
I do so wish there were some truly truly romantic duets these days. There's been a few duos here and there but none can even touch the powerful voices and pure talent of Eddy and Crystal. Even honest to goodness romantic love songs seem to have fallen by the wayside. Two years ago I posted my comments about this wonderful song and I never tire of watching and listening to this video. Crystal's and Loretta's sister, Peggy Sue, recorded a few songs in the past .Thanks once more for this. - Paula
@twinPaula12 Oh, I just LOVED when this song came over the radio. I could not stop listening to this song. I am not a country music gal, but the 1980s, the country music scene brought out some beautiful classics and crossed over a bit on the music charts. WOW, I own this song on CD. I love this song so much. SO beautiful!
Charles, that was Bobby Bare who commented on how she caressed the mic when singing. He said "she makes love to that microphone better than any singer out there".
Did anyone else notice that Crystal flubbed the lyrics when she first came out? She recovered like a pro. So sad that Eddie is no longer around making beautiful music. :(
+brunettesmurphette72 That was actually Eddie who messed up. Crystal was trying to get him to sing the second repetition of "Sharing our love together." At least that's what I gather.
