I love Crystal, but not because of her hair. Because of her wonderful voice and singing that has brought so much joy to so many, and because she has remained so sweet and humble throughout her fame. I actually got to meet her briefly after a concert of hers near Fresno, CA a couple of years ago and she was as genuine and nice as she could be.
my mom kept my hair short all the time. she hated it anytime I wanted it long..I hated it short..I always wanted long hair...well. I am 53 and I still hate short hair. my hair is long and I will continue to keep it that way..I plan on being like my grandmother who was in her 80's and 90's with long hair in a bun on the top of her head..yep that is me..long hair, bun, top of my head when I am in my 80's and 90's..I never want to cut my hair.
I have admired her hair since I was 3 or 4 years old. I am 51 & still love her & her hair! I have let my own hair grow over the years & I'm proud to tell people who ask that I love Crystal Gayle's hair!
How funny, I came on here trying to decide if I'm "too old" to grow my hair down to my waist (I'm 53 but told I look about 40). I asked a friend of mine who is of EAST-Indian descent and she's like "Well, first of all, there are no rules... And secondly, you're asking an INDIAN woman this?? Have you seen even OLD Indian women??" 😆😆 She said in "our culture it's not an age thing with having long hair..." Also, a funny thing I've noticed- It's women who will be a little judgy about women having long hair after a certain age, but men I've met have been like "what is the deal with women over say, 40 cutting their hair? Is there some law that women over 40 are supposed to have shorter hair?" So... I guess I'll just shut up and grow my hair 🤣🤣 I'll never have Chrystal's length though- thats some genetic stuff right there!

We even know John Denver who has sung a song with Sylvie Vartan (Love again) We also know the wife of George Jones (Tammy Wynette) and the most famous one Dolly Parton + Patty Page, Wanda Jackson, Willie Nelson and many others.. Tennesse2432 John Denver was a God among country music singers. I recommend that France discover who Ronnie Milsap is. He's a wonderful singer, and a wonderful piano player. He was born blind, but learned to play piano by ear. Are you French?
Although Crystal's hair is her trademark - and I am memerized by it - it's not really the reason I admire her. It's because of the loving, caring and giving person that she is
this is when i agree the Bible, but it (Paul in Corinthians) also says it is a shame for a man to have a long hair, which I don't understand! Some who had studied this particular ooint aither says this is because Paul was bald and Jalous of long hair men or it is a translation error from Aramaic to Greek and Latin because long hair men means homosexual.

@@steveclark5016 my point is that the bible is a roman's fake and a fairy tale, a compilation of antic legends! People should be free to have their hair the length they like. As I mentioned some explain it is a translation error because long hair men meant in the original text homosexual. Seems many people mentality haven't change that much since because of this satanic book responsible with all the monotheism religion of millions of people killed and tortured through history to this day.
lol Crystal must've been thinking how silly these questions were and I don't think she sees her hair as anything other than hair. people make such a big deal out of it and I don't think she cares for that.
Looking for hair care tips from her & read that her mom made her keep her hair short in childhood. Guessing it was for practical reasons, growing up poor, with no indoor plumbing, and like you mention, hygeine would be the deciding factor. Although I don't know factually if she ever had lice, back in the old days it wasn't uncommon in rural parts of the country. Treatment was hard core, among common options was kerosene. School outbreaks flared up periodically. My mom grew up in a similar rural area. Some people wouldn't hire extra hands unless they checked out clear from disease & parasites if labor was also getting boarded too.

@lawknoxville Big question... several reasons I think. I would first say that because she likes it. Second read or heard in an interview, she says she saw an other girl with knee length hair so she tried to grow it that length, and didn't stopped till the floor. It finally became her trademark because she always has been admired for her beautiful long hair even when she had it less long. And at start during the 70's long hair was fashion, so sh started like this, and easier: wash & go.

I wish like you more people would know how she is a wonderful and tatended person, but may be it is a little bit late now... Sorry the hair videos are not the most interesting, but they are funny.
