Amethyst's form is definitely my favorite, as I always wanted the series to go deeper into the idea that her whip was a rare weapon type among Quartzes. Bismuth even says something to that effect in her premiere episode before tricking out the whip with extra mace balls, so there's actually some basis for this in the series. Anyway, just wanted to check in to say that I hope everyone at the Roundtable is doing ok, and that I relate big time to the ADHD experience. Here's a thought: the gems Overdrive forms places them easier to poof. My logic is that energy isn't something that can be forced into an object that has a fixed mass capacity, but it CAN be redirected to focus more on other parts of the thing in question. So (in my mind at least) the gems creating these overdrive forms focus all of that energy; that capability to offense and skill (along with weapon genoration and the addition of new abilities), but have to do so at the expense of their defense since that's where they're drawing the extra power from. Think of it like hacking a robot so that the program focuses more on process A rather than process B

Imagine your robots just one day start upgrading their self's and messing with their coding, to the point they become op.

Maybe an idea for Steven to have an overdrive would be that Steven could retain & utilize some of his Pink Steven/Kaiju Steven powers, but where the overdrive could help maintain control over these powers so that he wouldn’t have another “breakdown”. His shield could posses a line of spikes or curved blades outlining the edge of it, and the dead center of the shield could have 5-6 inward curving blades & one singular spike. And his overall change in appearance could go as follows; - Small-medium lengthened tail (again retaining some Kaiju Steven stuff). - Long, curly hair like with his Steven/Greg fusion. - Small, stubby tusks. - Some padding/armor added to his coat. - Pink hued skin-tone/eye color.

Jasper’s Overdrive Form Jasper gains a weapon that looks like a dumbbell I think her helmet should also get a upgrade She gains some spikes on top of it (as a reference to when Quartz Steven poofed her) and she would regain her visor I just think she really deserves it

Yeah these overdrive modes seem really cool, and it would be really interesting to see more of these in different characters

Imagine if peridot also got the overdrive upgrade, she may have enough magnetic power equivalent to magneto. And while working with bismuth she could have an Arsenal of swords and many weapons OwO

THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE! The overdrive concept is pretty cool and if Steven universe had a bit more of a willingness to fight, I could see something like this happening (If they thought of it back then, that could have been something the crystal gems used in the war with Homeworld)

Would love to see an overdrive Peridot. Dunno why but I imagine her looking like straight out of steampunk. Or maybe akin to Ben 10's Juryrigg? An alien that can quickly dismantle things and use their parts to create new objects. That would suit her pretty well I think.

I had an idea for an overdrive form(before the form’s name was ever conceived)for Fluorite where she takes on a more slimmer, butterfly-like appearance complete with wings. Not only that but she is able to talk a bit faster too.

Oh, I definitely would like to hear what Koda has to say about his art, and I'm all on board for more overdrive forms. I like the idea of Jasper's Overdrive form potentially moving beast-like on all fours, reminiscent of how Malachite, the Zebra Jasper fusion and her own corrupted form all either have multi limbs or are quadrupedal . Her helmet could get an upgrade with horns similar to her corrupted form, too. And all the puffy hair we could ask for

Human-gem fusions through Steven would be an interesting idea.

In my eyes; I imagine Peridot becoming a sort of Tech Support employee, that Bismuth would use her forging skills to help repair the damaged homes or goods of others and that Lapis could become an art teacher. As for their "Overdrive Forms," they look cool...but I think the forms they had at the end symbolized how much they've truly come to accept who they are and where they now call home

The designs look super cool, but they should honestly look a bit more threatening. I feel like this "Overdrive" state requires another drawback; some simple things that could really push this concept ahead are less control, _mortal_ danger to the gem (cracking or even shattering), maybe some glowing eyes (something along the lines of the SU:F intro or maybe even Aang's Avatar state.) Modifying a gem is no small deal. The Diamonds _themselves_ have already tried to create stronger gems using something that was previously on the rebel's side. What did that lead to? A wide variety of experiments that turned out to be astronomical failures (no pun intended), and a horrid mass weapon that would have otherwise destroyed the Earth The rest of the Crystal Gems would be hesitant, before anything, to allow Peridot and Bismuth to undergo gem experimentation on _anyone,_ along with these new researchers from Homeworld. And when they did so, the final result would most likely be of some concern; especially if Yellow Diamond wasn't involved. Otherwise, it would likely lose part of the charm that draws this element into the story instead of as simply a supplement. _What happens when you push a gem past their natural boundaries? Is it really ethical to run experimentation on other gems for the betterment of gem kind?_ Overall, I think the Overdrive concept is really cool (and the artist is neat as well), but it could probably use some work in order to really drive the concept home; _especially_ if it would be important to the plot-line. (Did I hear Steven Universe: Overdrive?) I really like the idea in general though; I'd love to see another video on this!

you guys should do a fan art comic series for Steven universe (like how Ink tank created five years later for Ben 10). you could use all your awesome ideas and theories as the plot, and take the aftermath of future or whenever into your own hands. it would be really fantastic cause you guys would be the writers and art with Koda might drawing everything.

More ideas, here!: Part two: Pearl: An unimaginable support, out of her projections, she make many things, artillery cannons, shooting the explosive tips of her spears, highly modified light Pearl soldiers, and high flying drones, some go in and detonate, other stay up and laser down it's enemies. Pearl would be creating armies and armies of soldiers and drones. Out of her head, she can emit full powered lasers, and if she wants to, she can snipe with her spear, after two seconds of air times, the spear will spin at rapid speeds and turn into a *POWERFUL LIGHT LASER BLAST* . After a powerful stab, a directed little laser will fire out the tip, so powerful it could fire through the Earth if she wanted to. But Pearl wouldn't do that.

I think this is a really interesting concept, but, like Kevin said "they absolutely have to poof". This would probably imply that these new upgraded forms would be associated with a lot of pain and effort in order for them to function for around a minute. Having that kind of strength would have been incredibly super powered, and if any of the diamonds took this power themselves, it could literally destroy worlds. Maybe the forms could be activated by some super bright/ intense light, like a star or something as well.

Also it helps to mention an Overdrive form should put a gem at risk for corruption. More power should mean increased risk. Think Pink Steven in "Everything's Fine" where something about the original character is lost in the transformation made for power. This would also put Jasper as a key player in the management of overdrive forms, who is ready for it and how to prepare for it. She's the only one whose learned through trial and error how to find and maintain an identity that exists outside of a thirst for power.

So basicaly gems would "mega evolve"...

I had an idea of a berserk version of overdrive mode called overload mode(similar in fashion to MegaMan Battle Network 6’s Beast Over)if a gem tries to activate Overdrive mode when exhausted from deactivating it. Overload mode would look similar in appearance to Overdrive mode but the head becomes a flaming pure energy with glowing eyes with a silhouette of sharp triangular teeth. This is mode is even more powerful than overdrive mode but comes at cost of potential causing the gem to be severely crippled to the point where the gem is incapable of using their abilities. Where not even the diamonds can fix them. The only option would be that the gem has to be rejuvenated & have their memory restored can bring them back to working condition.

Peridot overdrive will Literally be magneto

I feel like in era 3 they wouldn't feel a threat of attack, and so wouldn't program themselves to have weapons, but rather reprogram themselves to be able to do there favorite things or hobbies. They would loose there weapons in turn for peace tools

I actually came up with a Super-Charged concept a few years back; I referred to it as "Full Facet". It was basically the X-Antibody from Digimon: increased/modified powerset combined with a new, funky design.

Thinking about overdriving other characters, I’m excited to see what peridot can do and look like. I’m imagining that Peridot’s overdrive would be similar to War Machine when he pulls out all his weapons. Imagine peridot sporting lasers, rockets, and missiles. Another idea I had would be if Peridot has more power over her metal powers and have Magneto level metal control.

What would the overdrive forms of Bismuth, Lapis, and Peridot look like? For Bismuth, she would take on the appearance of a armored juggernaut with large molten fist. She would shapeshift her hands into magma tools and weapons. For Lapis, she should take on a Poseidon theme with glowing reflective eyes and gigantic clawed water wings. She would be able to control nearly every form of liquid on the planet all at once. For Peridot, should become the size of a Era 1 Peridot and would wear a Tron like high tech suit. She would surrounded by a storm of metallic objects and would be sitting on a metal platform with metallic constructs shaped like her old limb enhancers acting as a form of locomotion.

i was re watching some steven universe yesterday, and MAN sapphire can run FAST, i specifically watched jailbreak and the answer, and in both episodes sapphire breaks out running and she just zooms right out of their it honestly caught me off guard (why am i spending so much time on how fast an imaginary projection of light can run?!)

I would love to see b team and diamonds overdrive

I definitely want to see more overdrive forms. Could Lapis Lazuli's overdrive have glowing gold eyes? Maybe her wings being sharper with gold lining the front with spikes on the end of her wings so it works like a piece of armour? (Wing slash technique idea thing) Maybe use that gold to form a bit of bling? My idea would be some form of string bracelets to match her sandals. Like covering half her lower arm in Celtic-ish style swirly patterns. (LOTR Elf type stuff) Bismuth being able to summon spikes on her entire body like a porcupine? (Like her armour does but it's her skin?) Her hair becoming a bit longer and more shiny to have a metallic sheen to it? (Because Bismuth is a mineral) Peri would get a height boost same as Amethyst, maybe metallic pad on her arms which she can get globs(?) of metal from? Visor upgrade kinda like Garnets but a bit more Peri. Her boots get higher and metal tipped maybe? Jasper would no doubt be the hardest as she's the Big Buff Cheeto Puff anyway... plus how the hell do you upgrade a helmet? Her corruption already gave it horns. Grow a second head? If you and Koda can come up with anything whatsoever i'd be completely amazed. Also now that Steven Universe is finished how's you fanfiction Steven Universe re-written going? Are you going to post a sequel on here soon or...?

I would love to see more Crystal Gem Overdrive Forms! I also think it would definitely be a smart move to have Koda or any other artists you work with brought in for whatever video you're doing so you and they can get your thoughts and ideas across. It's nice to hear how someone else's creative process works. It definitely helps me when I'm stumped. Being able to see and hear from a different perspective does wonders. Quick question: would you be willing to entertain the idea of a Steven Overdrive Form? I know his Pink Steven Form already counts as an Overdrive Form, and that it's the basis of the Crystal Gem Overdrive Forms you came up with, but I just think it would be cool to imagine. Think of it like the antithesis of the Kaiju Steven Form and the upgraded version of Pink Steven. Instead of making shields or hexagonal plates, Steven could grow in stature and deck himself out in Pink armor that boosts his offensive and defensive abilities. And because he can't poof, he could probably get really exhausted after using it too long, or even hurt. The Form goes from helping him to hurting him, kind of like Goku's Kaioken. But seeing as he has the powers of a Diamond, maybe he can work around that drawback with a little training. If you were to do Overdrive Forms for the Diamonds, then they would probably be more sophisticated in terms of control. They wouldn't be all powerful, but they may have less negative effects on the Diamonds compared to other Gem Overdrive Forms. Those are just my thoughts, anyway. I love what you came up with, and I can't wait to see more! P.S. Weirdly enough, I didn't immediately think of Ruby and Sapphire's rings when I saw Garnet's Overdrive Form gauntlets. When I saw the silver metal claws on her right hand and the gold metal claws on her left hand, I immediately thought of the weapons wielded by Arima, the Head Exorcist from Sousei no Onmyouji, a.k.a. Twin Star Exorcists. The anime turned out way different from the manga, which is still ongoing, but it wasn't that bad. I still prefer the manga though. Anyway, Arima wielded a pair of metal claws which were essentially the physical manifestations of the spirits that fought beside him in battle. They were pretty damn epic to say the least.

When you talk about overdrive gems it makes me think about Mavericks overdrive mode/ rage mode from Megaman x.

Peridot would have increase whatever metal ability she has (I forgot the name, of the kenesis) and would effortlessly use it. Peridot would probably create robots or even a bio mech suit. Pretty awesome. As for lapis, I’d suggest her ability for water, be for every liquid on planets or eath. Bismuth however. He could turn into anyth8ng he wants like amethyst but stronger. Or to be a bit more far fetched than that, he could shapeshift and turn his body molten hot like fire.Steven universe would uhh…..increased purple-barrier stuff and becomes practically herobrine from minecraft.
