I was on meth for 3 years. It completely destroyed me and my life. I was 23 when i started. Im 27 now and 10 months and 14 days clean. I am so proud of myself for getting cleaned up and improving my life.
That is so awesome. I'm 50 and I didn't get clean until 2 years ago. I injected meth. I thought that I was going to die in active addiction. Everyday I thank God for my amazing life and my amazing brain because I could have lost both. It makes my heart happy to know that you will have a couple decades clean by the time you reach my age. I'm very proud of you. Keep going kiddo!
Go out and experience the world. Travel, make new friends, do things you never thought you'd do. What once was will never be again. When you increase the amount of experiences you have during your life, the part where you took drugs will become only a small part of it.
I think she's suffered more trauma than she either doesn't remember or doesn't know how to express. There's more to her story. I hope she finds kind people to help her.
This was a very good friend of mine who over the past several years has had stints where none of her family knew where she was. Prior to this video, I had no idea that she ever had an issue with meth, which she appears to talk her way around by avoiding or not acknowledging the subject. On the one hand, I'm quite glad to see that she's alive, but on the other hand it's incredibly difficult to see her like this.
@@amyfitzsimmons4445 Does she resist help from your family? I wish Mark would interview some of the family members of his interviewees. They, too, suffer and have heartbreaking tales of what it is like to love someone, yet be truly powerless to make them get the help they need. Also, it would be an interesting psychological experiment to see how the stories of the addict/mentally ill/etc differ from the stories told by their family.
I was horribly addicted to meth for 5-6 years. I’ll be 10 years sober in July. I got married, had a beautiful daughter and moved across the country for an amazing job. It’s possible to stop.

I started doing drugs years ago as a teenage, got addicted to meth. Spent my whole life fighting meth addiction. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 3 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.
YES very sure of Dr.alishrooms. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, BPD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.

Sad my brother is a great person and smart up until he touched this drug

Gosh, I feel like if she were given a breast reduction, her neck and back would be in much better shape. She must be in a lot of pain, with the disc issue and such large breasts to carry around. I feel sad for you Sara, I hope you are ok, and do ok in the future, good luck getting a place.
Most dont use meth for pain. If she began drug use bc of pain, ot would've likely been opiates of some sort, then maybe led to meth. Although she claims she only drinks.
Keep in mind there are different perspectives to this kind of situation. Some people who may feel judgmental towards her probably have trauma. I grew up with an addict and it was such a terrible environment. It becomes difficult to feel love towards them because they are never themselves. I don’t feel as judgmental anymore, but I used to. I understand Sara has passed. She was so uncomfortable in her own skin, so I pray she's flying free now. Coming back to this vid, I see some cruel jokes and comments. Really disheartening, as Sara suffered from mental illness. People can really be sh$tty. RIP Sara.
What a sweet lady. It’s disturbing how we live in such a privileged, high tech country, and there’s so many people like this, desperate for help they’ll never receive.
The Internet has made alot of insecure people mentally ill who have become dependent on compliments and likes, not her though. I wish the internet would be used for public information, knowledge. I mean look at this world, people have become so anxious, sad and alot of people became introverted because they get all the entertainment inside their home instead of going out and explore the world, or getting to know neighbours, or family who is left.
This is heartbreaking! I knew someone who isn't much older than Sara: now 46, and she abused meth heavily for 13yrs., and abused coke for at least 10yrs before graduating to Meth. She fell into homelessness 2 different times, each time from drugs: the first time: coke, the 2nd time: meth. When I met her, she was 2yrs. into recovery. I tried to help her, but things became very complicated whenever I interacted with her. I could tell that all those yrs of substance abuse really took a toll on her critical thinking skills, cognitive functions & emotional regulation. There were some personality disorders involved as well. I wanted to stay in her life, but It became so toxic between us, I had no choice but to leave to preserve my identity & individuality. I still care deeply for her, but I can no longer help her. She's needed professional help long before I ever met her. I still wish her the best.

Yes, dr.sporessss. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
There ain’t no help. 47.5 million American living with some kind of mental illness. That’s 1 in 5 people. Only 43% had any care. 14.1 million Americans living with a serious mental illness. That’s 1 in 20. Only 64% had any kind of care. There are only 35,000 beds for mental heath treatment provided for by the government in the the entire country. And that’s for actually treatment. Care can mean anything from seeing a psychiatrist once a month to getting prescriptions to even a 72 hour psyc hold, etc. none of it is actually treatment. Unless you’re rich and can pay cash to a good private mental health treatment center you’re pretty much screwed. Because the private treatment centers that take insurance, they try to keep costs low. They keep as little employees as possible, cut corners, they do whatever they can to maximize profits and there’s also very little oversight. The worse insurance you have the worse places you’ll go and it’s the people that need treatment the most are the ones who cannot keep a job at the kinds of companies that provides really good insurance. That’s why you hear about ‘Booty Juice’ (powerful sedative) so much, especially from mentally ill homeless. Because the types of private treatment centers they’re going to is are the places that just knock you out all day so they don’t have ti deal with you and so they don’t need a full staff. Those 35,000 spots in state run facilities are the really the only chance they got, but the numbers are like winning the lotto. The reason state run facilities are so much better is because there a lot of oversight and it’s not profit driven. They actually spend the money. It’s tax money so they spend.. They have full staffs, different departments. They actually take the time and do treatment, therapy, group therapy art therapy, they teach them coping mechanisms, like skills, they get them into a routine, etc. They spend the time with the patients and really try, but the sad thing is, with how little amount of beds the state has is it ends up the people that become eligible for those beds are usually the most worse off, and I mean the top couple of percent most serious cases, many of them cannot be helped. When Reagan slashed the fund for state run facilities, and that was one of his biggest slashes, America just stared dumping its mentally ill in prisons and the budget for treatment has only been slashed more and more since. No place makes mental illness worse than prison. Putting mentally ill people in prison should be outlawed, it’s cruel. And many of them can be helped if judges were able to send them to a state run mental heath treatment facilities during their first few arrests, but there’s not enough beds and so they go to state prisons and they end up doing their time in solitary, which can drive a sane man crazy, and they come out more violent and more mentally ill each time. That’s why when you hear about these crimes that shock the nation, you can always see the building up in their rap sheet. Each arrest the crimes are getting worse and worse. Those are all missed opportunities to help them. But apparently half the country thinks government providing services to The People is ‘communism’ and so it gives the politicians permission to slash and slash these budgets. It’s weird cuz I don’t know who the hell they think provides the prisons. But that’s the long and short of it. There’s no help. America has screwed itself.
I used to stay up so long weird words would come out on my mouth. My hands would cramp and contort and I wasn’t able to get them unstuck for 30seconds or more. Not sleeping eating and not drinking makes your mind absolutely fckd. 7yrs clean would never go back I don’t miss it at all
