@@car-analysis after couple of hours I managed to understand how to remove them. Basically all I had to do is remove 4 torx20 screws and that was it, changed it in 5mins after resesrching for couple of hours😆
You must ensure that there is no power to the unit when you do the install. If your car has 2 batteries, both of them have to be disconnected (negative terminal only).
I have a draft installation guide that I can email you. Never got around to finishing it, but the info is all correct. Email me at info@car-analysis.com and I will send it to you.
Actually, you don't have to remove the controller for this installation. It's enough to disconnect the negative terminals on the batteries and make sure that the vehicle does not have power anywhere before you start the install.
No, the M6 F06 has the same iDrive controller as a 650i F06. So it should be the same. If your M6 is a 2018 or newer, it probably has the EVO controller (with MEDIA key). If your M6 is a 2017 or older, it probably has the NBT controller (with TEL key). The EVO controller is more difficult to upgrade because it has to be removed from the car for installation. I have made 4 videos on that, here is the first one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-um8OXOv2cw0.html
