We were originally going ro ride the Florida Coast to Coast trail again but plans changed and needed another option. Luckily, Karlos from www.singletracksamurai.com just did a scouting ride in this area linking together trails from some of his other routes into a 100 mile loop. Our route is similar but is a little longer at 130 miles and should be pretty interesting as we ride through a total of 5 wilderness areas with each one serving up different scenery that is unique only to Florida.
This was a pretty solid route that can provide numerous options, even packrafting the Weeki Wachee River, which may be possible by just renting a tandem Kayak at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park and paddling to Shoal Line Boulevard. We are thinking about trying it later this year. Be on the lookout for when Karlos finalizes his official route if you are interested in this type of adventure in Florida.
