This reimagination is one of my favourites for sure. On another note, I just realised that the visual makes it look like Justin has the moustache of a 19th-century industrialist.
Caught in the river, turning blue Hold your breath as it covers you Ooh, ooh Caught in the river, turning blue Hold your breath as it covers you Open that mouth and show me something Ooh, ooh Ooh, ooh I'm nothing without you here I'm nothing, I disappear Ooh 'Til nothing but my heart remains Ooh, for you We'll lie awake, I'll ask myself Who do you think you are? Caught in the river, turning blue Hold your breath as it covers you Open that mouth and show me something Ooh, ooh Ooh, ooh I'm nothing without you here I'm nothing, I disappear Ooh 'Til nothing but my heart remains Ooh, for you We'll lie awake, I'll ask myself Who do you think you are?
This song is a pure mix of sadness, a nostalgic feeling, the desire of reaching the heart of someone, and the imagination of a lost happiness, that reaches direct into your soul.
Eloquently stated. I just happened to attempt to describe how his music makes me feel on another video’s comments, and I kept referencing a nostalgic feeling.. as if his music somehow makes me feel nostalgic for this exact moment.. and then I come here and read your beautiful and spot on depiction.
I have listened to this over and over and over. I don't know who Crywolf is.. 'Collide' posted about this version on FB. I am grateful for the introduction. As I listen to the original now, I must say, I like alone architect. I could listen to Kassia sing for the rest of my life.
Thanks, glad you dig it! Crywolf is an amazing artist and very unique. You should dig into his catalogue a bit. So real, so good. Thanks for the kind words!
I can't tell if he used the same chords as the chorus of Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin OR one of his older songs off of Ghosts. But something eerily nostalgic about the first 15 notes in the song ring out the entire song hitting at old feelings.
had to listen to it like 10 times on spotify before I started liking it. I definitely wish it was longer -- it has a FALLOUT-like build-up in the end but no drop. could have easily been my favorite reimagination otherwise
this is absolutely stunning. the original is amazing, and this version just expands on everything that makes it great. i especially love the soft piano opening and whatever that string instrument is around 2:30-2:40... it kinda reminds me of certain parts of the breath of the wild soundtrack, so i guess its probably a japanese instrument. it sounds awesome
Hey! It's an Erhu and it's a 2 stringed, bowed Chinese instrument. In the West, sometimes referred to as the Chinese Violin. It has such a morose, melancholy nature to it and is one of my favorite sounds in the world. That along with the Cello and the Duduk, which are equally as emotively melancholy and that just have this feeling of longing to me. Of loss. Of yearning.... if that ll makes sense. Cheers!
The vocals really annoy me on this for some reason.. I don't mind that they've been "pop'd" up a bit, but they just feel lazy to me, like she didn't feel like learning the flow or feel and didn't really want to go for the highs. A real shame, because she has a pretty cool voice, so yeah...
I actually have the same thoughts. The way she speaks the line and the tone of it is not. . . so good. Too bad since the instrumals in this reimagination is amazing.
