This feels less like a song and more of a mantra or incantation until the drop. This version definitely feels more “unltraviolent:” The screaming and high pitched whistling is on the verge of... scary. The trance-like repeating of the same phrase makes it feel like someone is using the words as an excuse to be exactly what they couldn’t escape from-ultraviolence. If I can’t escape you, I can become you. If I become you, if I can move a thousand miles an hour again, I can escape you, forever. The second half of the song feels much less threatening, like the calm after the storm. Peace after war. Life... after death. The repeating of the phrase suddenly feels like there’s a hinge of regret or guilt behind it. Perhaps, for the second half of the song, the phrase was directed inward, instead of outward. I like this remix because it paints an image in my mind that’s all too familiar while still being entirely new. It still feels like a Crywolf song (Meaning track wise; of course a song with his voice and lyrics is going to sound like his own, but that’s not what I mean exactly. The vibe and atmosphere from the track alone feels like Crywolf), but it pushes to a slightly different direction. Instead of sorrowful anger that comes from loss (I.e. Justin being robbed of his work), this track turns that sorrowful tone into a vengeful one: _I can’t stand the weight of the world’s violence, so I will tear it at its waistline._ That’s my 2¢ and my evaluation, if you will, of the song. Tl;dr: I like song, it gud and make gud brain pictures in head.
azfadel I’d argue anything you can create can be art. I think that’s why there’s an expression that goes something like, “He’s an artist with ____!” or “He’s so good, it’s practically an art.” Crywolf’s writing, vocal, and musical skills are uniquely unmatched. People can have similar styles, but no one does it quite like him. He’s a brilliant artist in all forms of craft
I think this is the first time I’ve preferred a remix to an original Crywolf song. This feels like more of a soundscape than a song at times, but the way it communicates atmosphere is wonderfully creepy.
That's what experimental is, honestly. If you take a look at some songs from Frequent (i.e Dream Recall), they have the same type of soundscape feel to them, almost indecisive, in a way. Like, does the song want to be one genre, or another, or a combination of them? At times, experimental songs are all genres, even. It's crazy
I feel like Levitate really captured the essence of Crywolf here. Like you could tell me that Crywolf made this and I would believe you. It’s so eerie. Reminds me of the very beginning of Porter Robinson - “Fellow Feeling” (Slumberjack Remix).
This is truly a reimagination. A beautiful terror. A haunting experience but it left me shattered and with so much more understood about Crywolf and myself.
I find myself unable to pull away from this track. I literally can not do any other work while listening to it. I'm in a trance and the beginning definitely feels like a spellbinding incantation.

I agree with you Suicide Cat I was like Wow what am I hearing . It does sound creepy when the beats of the sound drops but by the same time it's Amazing to listen it's Cool.
As much as i love this song, it brings out my negative thoughts, especially after a break up. This is why you are my favorite artist. Most times im too hopeful and you make me see what could be the actual reality of things.
I really liked the music Crywolf made back around 2015-2017. Since then, the songs have basically turned into weird background noise with mumbles & moans for the vocals. I couldn't really even call this music. I'm not trying to be hateful because I have a lot of respect for Crywolf because his older music has gotten me through some tough times. I just hope he takes his music back in that direction at some point. Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?
Kumel Waliany Calling it forgettable EDM is a little harsh. His version of EDM was super unique at the time, and he made super atmospheric songs that were both sad and uplifting simultaneously. Angels and Runaway in particular were both romantic and heartbreaking. Then again, your opinion is your own. I do agree that his new stuff feels much more sincere, which makes for better sound, but they are much much darker songs. They don’t feel like the dreamlike/harmonic songs people fell in love with when they first stumbled across Crywolf.
His newer stuff is engraved in pain and loss. I’m sure Oblivion pt.II will have “happier” and more romantic songs. You have to remember, Justin has actual mental predicaments. He had real depression and a real mental breakdown from having his music (and other expensive equipment), which is his livelihood, stolen. I say “real” because there are plenty of people out there who like to put a false stigma with the word depression. It’s not a brief sadness; it’s a harsh, recurring blizzard that bogs down your brain and makes you want to shutdown entirely. I’m sure you know this, though, since you yourself have been through tough times. Anyways, I miss his older, more up-tune songs, too. But if Justin didn’t put these songs out, I’m fairly certain he wouldn’t have been able to move on 100% at all. I would definitely give his newer stuff another listen or two. I disagree with what you said about it being weird background noise and mumbles/moans. That stuff is present, but it’s not the meat of his songs.
@The Spreer @Lirulin I appreciate your guys insight, I wasn't really aware of what's going on in his life. I think that will help me appreciate his current music more as well as have more hope for his future music.
