We roast each other, but when you REALLY think about it, CSGO has spawned wholesome memes that transcend the game. In CSGO I've seen the least racism and bigotry out of any esports game. Rush b, my friend. Rush B.

@@ThunderstyleYTB well, as far as i can tell, the different languages and the pure incompetence of not being able to speak at least broken english has given me a fear of matchmaking for my lifetime. everytime i q up, i get an average of 1 russian who won't communicate. they either: - don't want to - have no mic - don't speak english or my personal favorite: - they don't seem to have the knowledge of programs like discord or teamspeak, which means that they'll constantly talk while you try to 1v?. in the end, the "nearby players"-feature helped me gain at least a little bit of trust in the game back, since playing as a 5 man premade party is like the only way to actually play the game. i haven't seen to many "racist" people, but that may be reasoned by the fact that racist people usually neither have much knowledge nor interest in learning any other language than their own. i haven't seen much racism and stuff like that in other games either ... to be clear here: every mmo or indie game has a much better community than that of the competitive games like csgo or lol (maybe even overwatch, even though i might start arguing with you if you see it as the perfect competitive shooter). and it's normal that this happens. racism on the other hand is just an exclusive to a certain kind of people, and not a certain type of game, since being competitive and trying to win doesn't have much to do with racism, this could lead to the wrong conclusion that this means the people aren't racist in cs. they are just equally spread among all games (that aren't featuring racist content directly ..), and usually quiet until there is a reason to change that. and a reason could be that someone doesn't perform. and in my opinion, language/communication is a part of this performance, making everyone who can't speak english less viable in the game to play with other random people in matchmaking. call that racist if you want, but that is my opinion as someone who's first language isn't english (as you might have realized by now if you have read my whole comment). tl;dr: i don't think racism is big in gaming after all, and they're just quiet. i think that sharing 1 language in a team is important, and if you don't speak english, you shouldn't q up on other servers. this makes me hate on russians especially, since as my experience shows me russians often enough won't communicate, which makes them less favorable than others to me. in the end, i'd rather play with a nice russian who speaks broken english than an asshole from my country.

uhhhhhhhhh, i barely even get russians without a mic. ps you can set your max ping limit so you don't get into east european servers as a west european
