I have the Metro 20 and decided to mount using 3M dual lock, because I didn’t want screw heads sticking out of the surface of my board. If you do this, be sure to remove the 3 mounting screws (and store them away for later), so that the rubber feet on the bottom of your board will sit flush to the ground. Otherwise your board will sit on the screws themselves, making it unstable. Great product from Truetone!!
Fantastic presentation! Clear, concise, good natured. So impressed with all of my Truetone (and Visual Sound) products. Thank you for doing what you do.
Hey Bob. How ya doin pal. You are a true gentleman my friend. I enjoy your professionalism with all this equip. Thank you for quality products and very helpful info. God Bless you.
I really love my CS6 1 spot power supply, i really hope that true tone will Invent another low profile power supply like CS 6 in the future with more output 🙂 Thanks TrueTone, i will get another 1 spot power supply in the future to power up my 10-15/20 pedals 🙂
This is a great unit, but I'd love to see a CS8... for 'medium' boards. My CS6 is powering 7 pedals, two 9v pedals via the supplied two-connector daisy chain. Assuming I kept within the mA draw, would it be possible to power 8 pedals if I used a second two-connector MC2 daisy chain in one of the other DC outputs on the brick? Or could/should I get an MC5 five-connector daisy chain and run three pedals off it, say via one of the 500mA outputs?
You can absolutely run daisy chains of any of the outputs of the CS6, or any 1 SPOT Pro. Just make sure you are not daisy chaining digital pedals together. For example, don't daisy chain a Strymon pedal with an Eventide pedal. Zac
A little bummed I didn't find this video (and read through all the comments) before I bought my CS6 and swapped out my Strymon Ojai on my Pedaltrain Nano. After two unsuccessful attempts to line up and drill the holes using the template, I gave up and went with velcro. Unfortunately, the velcro makes the CS6 a little lower than the rubber feet on the board, so I have a board that slips and slides unless I bring a couple little shims with me to put under the pedalboard's feet. Power supply works well, though, and I'm glad I don't have to use an outboard transformer anymore, like I did with the Ojai.
Follow up: I found some of the little rubber feet that you put on chair legs (the 7/8" size) and they fit perfectly over the rubber feet on my Pedaltrain Nano. They also come in different heights, so I've got the board set up so it's raked slightly from front to back. Now I've got plenty of clearance for the power cord, and more airflow around the power supply.
To be clear, does "M4" specify the thread pitch? I'm going to mount mine to a wooden pedalboard I'm building and will be stopping by Lowes soon... (need longer screws) (moving this to the main thread)
Hi, can the CS6 power the big box EHX Deluxe Memory Man (24v)? Also can we use daisy chain cable on one of the outputs to power multiple pedals? Thanks
Yes, it can power the EH DMM big box. You will need to purchase the TVD voltage doubler, and to set one of the outputs to 12v on the CS6. truetone.com/tvd/ You will also need to use the included CL6 converter to have the correct polarity and plug size. You can absolutely use a daisy chain on one of the outputs. We rec using non-digital pedals on a daisy chain to keep noise to a minimum.
I used the template, taped it down and everything, but the holes were still misaligned. Granted, I'm a musician and not very handy, but this was frustrating. Luckily one screw will hold it in place. One detail not mentioned in the video is that to use the screws that will be flush with the top of your pedal board, you must counter-sink them. And that's another skill level. Otherwise, the other type screws will stick up from the top and will create bumps in the velcro.
Ron, Very sorry you had trouble with the install. We are now shipping the units with lower profile screws. Send your address to zac (at) truetone.com and I will send you a set of the low profile screws. Zac
i never understood drilling power supplies into the board, I'm also an amateur and don't have the balls to do it. Dual Lock on the power supply and underside of the board is plenty strong, much easier, and doesn't alter the board itself. I have to use a knife handle, crowbar style, to get the thing off so I don't worry about any issues.
@@TruetoneFX I just got a CS6 yesterday and have the same issue as this commenter. Taped the template down, drilled the holes, and they don't line up with the actual unit. I now have holes in my board that serve no purpose. I just reached out via your Contact Us page. I hope we can figure something out.
Can i daisy chain strymon dual sunset overdrive + mxr carbon copy analog delay from 1 output through the CS6? After watching your demo about this 1 spot CS6 power supply i never think twice to get it and now the the 1 spot CS6 power supply is in my hand.. thank you very much for your help or explanation about this awesome power supply.. I actually going to use it tomorrow in church, that's why i need an explanation from you, really appreciate it GOD bless..
Removing the screws does not effect the housing in any way. On a Temple board, you would need a washer that is bigger than the holes already on the board, with the proper sized hole in the middle of the washer so the screw can hold it.
Truetone Thanks for the reply! I actually did get some flat screws sent to me when I emailed but the problem is that if you try to screw them into the pre-existing hole, they don’t sink in enough so they still stick out. I am tempted to widen the hole but then I am worried that the screw won’t have enough to grab a hold of!
I have the Mooer Radar and UK Gold 002 which are 12v 300mA and 9v 300 mA. Looks like this can only power the UK Gold. Any suggestions for the Radar, besides its included pwr supply?
Hey Truetone, I already have a CS12 which is a unbelievable value...but I'm intrigued about this CS6 for a smaller board like the Nano or Metro. If I don't go the screw in route, do you think the CS6 would still have clearance if I used dual lock? Thanks!
I just got a CS6 yesterday and have the same issue that Ron Kelley reported below. Taped the template down, drilled the holes, and they don't line up with the actual unit. I now have holes in my board that serve no purpose. I just reached out via your Contact Us page. I hope we can figure something out.
Yes, though the CS7 would be a better choice due to being designed to go under angled boards. The CS6 is designed to go under flat boards like their metro series.
@@TruetoneFX I was wondering the same thing, because the Stomp draws about 800-900mA so I figured a current doubling adaptor would be necessary to combine the two 500mA ports. You mention they can easily handle 550 in this video, but wouldn't 800-900 be too much for just one 500mA outlet?
@@TruetoneFX The Stomp HX & HX XL power input port states 3A, so how can 500mA power them? Also, what amount of power will be left for any additional pedals besides the HX?
not as easy as that if your not used to a drill! Trust me, I only managed to get one hole correct which has basically buggered the entire thing and now my case is attached by one screw.... get someone who knows what they are doing... but personally considering how much these packs cost, they should be providing better solutions or reducing the price!
