if you look at Matt's cast in slow MO the point at which he hits the lead the leader is about 90 degrees to the rod or even inside the tip !!! so the lead has no momentum or actual speed !!!
May just be the perspective of the footage. Observers have said the angle is okay, but the sinker was indeed losing lots of momentum by the time I started turning.
