On a picture perfect December 15th 2019, I spent a majority of the day shooting CSX & Amtrak trains in thee northern portion of North Carolina. Most of these trains are travelling in ex Seaboard Coast Line (SCL) territory, and some of the SCL characteristics are still very much visible today.
Our day started by chasing CSX Q136 all the way down the A-Line before finally intercepting him on the Portsmouth sub, in Margarettesville NC. We made our way down to Sharpsburg to see a couple of freights (Q401 & V669), before chasing F733 down to Wilson NC, with CSX 4300, a GP39-2 trailing. Stops in Enfield, Wilson, Battle, and Bricks NC all produced nice shots.
