How can we better support our introverted students and colleagues in spaces typically designed for extroverts? Introverts are often overlooked in a society that values "tooting your own horn", "jumping in" during group conversations, and thinking aloud. Yet, research studies show that introverts have a lot to offer in roles of leadership and as quieter contributors to classroom and workplace discussions, often offering insights born from thoughtful consideration over time. This video, presented by ARC Psychology professor Natasha Fratello, will offer information about how our typically extroverted spaces can increase stress for our introverted colleagues; offer an overview of these personality types and their needs; and provide opportunities for (quietly) considering ideas to incorporate into the classroom and office to better support our diverse populations.
