What up fellas and ladies 😉, I am here to bring you another video for you to consume and enjoy (hopefully)! The time has come! I'll be installing my CTS Turbo Downpipe with a High-Flow Catalytic Converter that I ordered couple of weeks ago and also that O2 spacer! I also had to take my car 7Days Mufflers in Santa Ana, CA because I needed the 3" downpipe be welded on to 2.5" MagnaFlow Resonator in order to avoid exhaust leaks and nasty vibration noise. Wow this is more or less the same exact setup Im going for this upcoming Friday. I didn't get a magnaflow resonator but did get a regular off the shelf res and high 400 cell dp with some o2 bungs.

Appreciate this post. Mine is a 6 speed manual and I NEED some exhaust noise to cancel out my 500ft/lb stage 2 clutch. It sounds like a diesel but MAN does it bite. I'm going full stage 2 come July. AWE tune, intake, exhaust, the whole thing. I'll upload the entire process in video and notes bro. My car is ready for these sounds man, appreciate the upload my G!

No problem brotha and thank you! I wish my car was a manual. It’s a lot of fun driving manual! I’m planning to put stage 2 on my car as well but I’m still deciding if I should get apr or unitronic. For sure bro I’ll be in the look out for your video!

My car drones at 5500 rpm sometimes but I don’t usually step on it all the time. For me it’s ok for now. Imma need to get a muffler for sure since this piece of art screams when I step on it lol 😂

What tune are What tune are you running?. I live in utah I don't have 93 octane higher elevation,, and I need a tune to run the 3" catted dp and air intake and dump valve. So I need some knowledge to run which tune so I can use 91 octane

The mic cut out because of the loudness of the sound. It does that sound doesn't sound distorted when you upload a video

Have you had to worry about smog yet? I am looking at a full turbo back system with cats & am weighing pros & cons

Since I live in California I don't have to worry about the smog check until 2025. My GLI is a 2017 model. This is what California DMV states: "Starting January 1, 2019, if your vehicle is less than 4 model years old, you can pay a smog abatement fee instead of getting a smog inspection for the first 8 years that your vehicle is registered." Hope that helps!

I recommend you to get the AWE Tuning Cat-Back exhaust systems! They have two versions of it! One is Track Edition which is very loud and Touring Edition is more muffled but gives very nice tone and its not so loud! The Intake would be up to you to be honest. There's CTS Turbo, Unitronic, APR, IE, and Neuspeed intakes. To me they all do the same thing and perform as similar as a good ass cold air intake! APR is more fancy and more expensive because it is made out of carbon fiber.

Solo quita los 2 silenciadores e instalas un resonador magnaflow #10416 y una punta de escape y listo. Pero si quieres un sonido más deportivo es necesario que instales el downpipe para que tenga más flujo de aire el escape.

Nice set up. Are these legal in California? I have a stock 2015 Jetta tsi 1.8 that I’m looking to upgrade to stage 1. Any tips are appreciated, thanks.

Thank you smith 🙏🏼! Aftermarket downpipes in CA are not legal because they are not clean emissions complaint. I suggest to add at least a high-flow catalytic converter just for the environment and also to keep maximum performance. Stage 1 is good but it will trigger a check engine light (CEL). I suggest a stage 2 since it will fix the CEL issue. But, if you still want stage 1, then get a O2 sensor spacer to avoid your CEL to be triggered.

Crazy bro, you went at it by yourself. I was like shit that gap is gonna be trouble, but nice that the weld did the fix. What kind of lowering kit did you put on? I just put some wheels on my MK6 19x8.5x135. The rear is rubbing once in a while so I need to lower it.

I couldn't believe that I did the downpipe install myself! I'm running some ECS Tuning Street Coilover System. My wheels are 18x8.5 offset 35 and my tires are 225/40/18. I had to get someone to roll my fenders because my fenders were literally sitting on the tires. After my fenders were rolled, my car sat properly and gave a nice fitment. To this day my rear wheels still rub on my fenders sometimes.

What is the o2 spacer for? I just bought this downpipe and wanna try installing it myself but idk if I can

It gives an extra space to the sensor to not fully read the exhaust gases coming out from the downpipe. In other words, It’s just to prevent the CEL (check engine light) to turn on. Aftermarket downpipes have a bigger opening and does not have a secondary catalytic converter to convert the harmful gases. Those harmful gases is what causes the O2 sensor to trigger the CEL.

you could also get apr stage 2 which adjusts for more flow through the exhaust, eliminating the mil and not requiring a spacer

Maybe. I'm still thinking about it but it seems I should be leaning towards APR since they're the only ones that offer Stage 2 Tune using 91 octane gasoline! Here in California the 93 octane gasoline is nonexistent.
