@@thescorbunny9511 I know it but getting another buff to become better, is always welcomed. Still like the fact that now he fires magic, not caster balls.
@@coilingeat5602 Yes i very much agree that his animation looks nice now. On the buffing part, Idk about you but I would rather have that Geronimo buff the next time I'm seeing a silver caster on strengthening events
@@kokojin1116 With the theory that Odin is using Caster Cú as a vessel of sorts, that can very easily be interpreted as Gungnir as it literally misses then comes back around to hit the enemy
Finally, out of all the other servants in the story, Caster Cu was the first servant to ever help us in battle, not counting Mash or Da Vinci, as ally, comrade and friend, yet it took him this long to get an update, his E luck really hits him hard at times. Well good for him now. his animation is badass!
Oh, that's interesting, I don't know about Lugh myself, so me, and most others, reached the conclusion that he was throwing Odin's Lance, Gungnir, given the... honestly overwhelming amount of foreshadowing that Odin is related to Cú's Caster form somehow. XD Helps that it uses the exact same sprite as the Valkyrie's copy of it as well. Especially with how it soars past the enemy only to home in on it afterwards, reinforcing the "never misses" aspect Gungnir had which Cú later used as the basis for Gae Bolg's reverse causality.
@@eonnexus As far as I can tell, Gungnir being a prototype for Gae Bolg is a bullshit idea that stems from a decade old mistranslation that never appears anywhere else (the idea that EMIYA said "the original, Gungnir" and not "the original Gungnir", as is the case in basically every translation of that scene in FSN). Furthermore, Gungnir even having a sure hit effect is a bit questionable, since that could be something unique to the replicas of the Valkyries (which they also never use properly).
@@thejudge1728 It wasn't a translation error, as Gea Bolgs weapon screen in the Visual Novel goes into explicit detail about Gungnir being Gea Bolgs "Prototype" I want to say I read something somewhere about Lugh and Odin being connected somehow, but I am NOT sure enough to take that memory as fact. But if it WAS something that was written by someone, Nasu possibly could've drawn inspiration from it in making Gungnir Gea Bolgs Prototype, seeing as Altera mistakes Cú for being related to the Norse gods in as recent as Extella in 2016, with Cú thinking she's talking about Lugh, and since Grand Order came out a year beforehand, I wouldn't count out them playing the long game for Odin being connected to Caster Cú.
@@eonnexus Can you give me a link to an image or something? I've found a gallery on imgur with the weapon screens, but Gae Bolg is not there (like, seemingly not even in the menu), and the wiki only links to the section in FCM3 with the quote from EMIYA. It's also never restated in any of the materials connected to Gae Bolg, EVER. Nasu has been playing the long game about CasCu secretly being part Odin, it's been set up ever since Singularity F. That said, I don't think Gae Bolg has anything to do with it.
Did you know that there's a theory going around that CasCu isn't actually Cu _at all_ but in reality Odin in disguise? For example - He _never_ gives his true name. He somehow remembers you when he is summoned. One of his ascensions gives him two wolves. (Odin has two wolves named Geri and Freki) In the KnK event, he says "There is no Cu Chulainn here." Sure, it was played for comedic effect, but it can't be ignored. His second Noble Phantasm is Ochd Deug Odin. Odd for an Irish Servant to have, no? His CE is _Yggdrasil Tree._ Adding on to how he knows you when summoned, he also has a ton of knowledge that he most definitely _shouldn't_ know - For example, in his Valentine's cutscene, he mentions both Human Order Incineration (Singularities) and the _Human Order Reorganization._ (The Lostbelts.) It's implied he's known about the Lostbelts for a while. He turns up in LB6. Scathach notes that CasCu's rune magic is slightly different than what she taught him. Sigurd seemingly does a double-take when meeting him. It's also stated in his Mats profile that he's confused by CasCu. It must be noted that Sigurd has met Odin multiple times in his legend. It is impossible for Cu Chulainn to be summoned without either Gae Bolg or the skill "Martial Arts Disciplining in the Shadow Country." CasCu has neither. Lancer Cu was seemingly unaware that he could be summoned as a Caster _He introduces himself in LB6 as Grimnir._
Honestly, the fact that he stayed alive until the end of Singularity F should've been a dead giveaway that Caster Cu Chulainn is not, in fact, Cu Chulainn...
Me and another guy wrote a pretty damn lengthy analysis about all the weird shit that's going on with him here: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/WMG/FateGrandOrder (bottom of the page). And on that page there's also a link to an old Reddit thread where most of these were taken from and excessively discussed.
Actually, Everyone should have a Caster Cu, since he's the Fuyuki free Servant. So he is actually the most common Caster possible. When it comes to higher np levels, well...thats a slightly different matter.
@@raphaelpulmano2212 yeah, I also have more SSRs than I do Caster Cus. Mostly because I havent rolled on banners with him for whatever reason. Still have him tho
@@jackb450 yea he's definitly odin/cu mix. In the buster attack he throws the staff like a spear and it goes past the enemy and then comes back and hits em. Almost like gungnir the spear that never misses
Who would've thought that this day would even come -Many people actually, but bear with me now- Heck, they even predicted him using his staff as a pseudo-Gae Bolg, like when he fought Archer, and him using Wicker Man in his Extra
YEAAAAAAAA He's even cooler now! *^* I love that he summoned doggos to help him fight too, as well as the big upgrade to Wicker Man! Including his theme from First Order is also super cool :D
his art cards only make magic type attack his buster make a fire direct strike his quick moves faster than the others and his NP is the definition of a True Caster This guy is one of the best servants design in the game
I was waiting for this since forever. My NA lvl 100 Caster Cú is waiting for his animation update. Meanwhile just grailed the jp account Cascu to 80. Needed to give him the golden border. 😍😍👏👏😭😭
Happy for my boy, Caster Cu for this animation, and hopefully for his skill upgrades in the future. Also Proto Cu, Cu Alter and other Servants with outdated launch animation update when? Time to max grail him in JP just like in my NA server account, and levelling Fairy Knight Tristan.
So, you guys see the Odin and Cu news that basically almost outright says he's got Odin him? His young self, Setanta from the arcade even says that Cu Chulainn is always suppose to be summoned with Gae Bolg which Caster Cu doesn't have. He even has special lines with Sigurd and Brynhildr now, along with lines for Scathachi and Skadi. Cu (Caster) -> Scathach: Hmm? "It feels somewhat different from the Rune Casting I've lessoned you?" You say? Haha! There's no way that can be, master/teacher! Have you finally become senile? ...No, that was a joke I was just kidding! Don't kick the spear!! Cu (Caster) -> Skadi: Oh? Skadi of the LostBelt. (To You)... No, it's nothing. Too late (to sat anything) Cu (Caster) -> Bryn: Brynhildr... Karma因果 it is. Cu (Caster) -> Sigurd: What is it? Sigurd. Tsk. Well~ About that. Don't look at me too hard with those glasses on.
He's pretty simple, but still cheers to the only caster I'd ever consider dropping a grail on. Ty for the vidya. Interested to see how his hoodie ascension looks.
