@Pat M The people of Cuba doesn´t believe anymore in those tales about a "blockade" that DON´T EXIST. The regime of Cuba makes a lot of money exploiting doctors as cheap labor for other countries and they don´t invest in the Health Care System. You need to ask to a Cubans what´s really going on. I speak everyday with them and all are desperate to see the end of the Castrocommunist regime.

On the other hand, in the US, you can protest all you want, but police continue to shoot black people and Republican states go all out to restrict their votes. You can protest all you want, but corporations still control all political decisions. Universal health care in the US, has that happened yet? 69% of Americans want it, government ignores them because corporations dictate that governments ignore those needs. So tell me how is it better to be able to criticize your government and have your needs ignored and your people shot, than not have an ability to criticize the government and have universal health care and free education? Liberty means nothing if the government is not for the people. Do people in Cuba get pulled over by police for being Black? Do they? Most of the problems in Cuba can be solved by lifting the embargo. In time, like in China, you would then see loosening of restrictions on private business. What you won't see is the sell out of the country to US moneyed interests, and this is really what this is all about. Great musicians, who write their own music and stage huge theatrical shows, are not naive stupid people. Roger didn't spend his career writing stupid little love songs. He is a life long learner of the human condition and it shows in the songs he writes. I'm no fan of Putin, or China, but they are right. History has shown that regime change aided by, or carried out by, foreign interests rarely works out well. Muammar Gaddafi was not a great guy, but when he ran his country it was not a center for human trafficking and it had a functioning economy. I'm certain Libyans miss the days when he was in power.

I'm Venezuelan and I've been in Cuba. My country does have similar sanctions too. In reality embargoes are not blockades, they do not affect or prevent Cuba or Venezuela from trading with other countries. There's 170 nations with which Cuba and Venezuela are free to trade with. And such sanctions do not affect either the purchase of food or medicines. both countries pretty much trade with the US annually still www.census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/c2390.html It is just a well kept myth by these kind of regimes, they always blame others of the failed system and corruption.

The so called "embargo" is statutory only. It was an actual blockade (war ships) for a very short time in the 60s under the missile crisis and Kennedy. The blockade does not extend to food and medicine: "the U.S. placed an embargo on exports to Cuba except for food and medicine after Cuba nationalized American-owned Cuban oil refineries without compensation." Anyone is free to trade with Cuba. Please, educate yourself...
