I'm Cuban too and came to the US at the age of 12. I remember walking for the first time into a Walmart and seeing the bicycle isle. My jaw dropped and I felt an undescribable feeling of elation and wonder. I don't think Americans will ever understand the amount of abundance they possess. It is just so normal to them that it becomes mundane. Over the years I've also come to see this abundance as so normal I don't even notice it, but once in a while I remember how that little kid felt in the Walmart, or at McDonald's, or the first time at Disney World. It really makes me appreciate how fortunate we are to live in this country.
I wish you were teaching these entitled socialist loving brainwashed brats in college instead of what passes as America hating, socialist college professors today.
@@ronronniemeyers To be fair, there is a lot to dislike about the United States as it is right now. We only ended up with abundance by looking around at what we had and saying, "you know, I think we can do better," so why stop now? In one hundred years I want my kids to think I am as backwards as I sometimes think my own grandparents can be. You truly know that you've won as a parent or grandparent when your kids are able to spend the energy to complain about BS instead of having to worry about the practicality of life. Admittedly, it doesn't *feel* like winning, but what can that be called if not utter luxury?
@@ronronniemeyers Absolutely. I often wonder why these people hate such a free country where we possess so much. What is their reason? And why don't they just move to another country? All of it makes zero sense and their way of thinking is twisted...
What would seem more interesting would be to take him to a classic car show to see cars he's used to seeing but in mind condition or highly customized.
I’m a 64 year old Irishman ☘️ and honestly this brought tears to my eyes, to see the joy on this man’s face because he was in a dealership 😮 is humbling. God bless you both.
If any advertising execs are watching this, Yoel just made a great commercial for Ford. He could write the script, "There are many Ford cars in my homeland that are still running after 60 years in service. That is why it will be my dream to one day own one for myself." Hire the guy, give him his dream car, the Mustang, film the presentation, and you're going to have people listen to him instead of hitting the TV remote mute button.
Yoel would be a FANTASTIC commercial for any place he has gone, so far! Imagine the sympathy it would generate for the people of Cuba to showcase the awe and wonder that we, as Americans, take for granted. I can only imagine Cuba being open, free, and brought into the modern age. Viva Cuba Libre!
What we need is Cubans that know automotive mechanics to keep 25-40+ year vehicles running. Bring them to 🇺🇸 and let them open their garage to fix cars. Mechanics nowadays know little about the art of hearing, seeing, an automatic defect. They depend too much on the computer systems to tell them what to fix.
@@ceciliaalvarez97 "Mechanics nowadays know little about the art of hearing, seeing, an automatic defect. They depend too much on the computer systems to tell them what to fix." Is that the fault of the mechanics? Or the changing world in which they live? Currents cars aren't built like the simple cars that Cubans keep running for 25-40 years. It's a completely different world now. As much as bringing a Cuban to the US to open a garage sounds great, they would be at a severe disadvantage dealing with modern cars. Being a specialist for older cars would be the way to go, but in the end, I think they'd need to get some schooling/training on how to deal with modern electronics - that's the world we live in.
I'm willing to bet in a couple of years Yoel will be able to buy that truck or mustang. People like him come to this country, work hard and succeed. Happens all the time.
If you want to know what makes this country special ask the people that have immigrated here. They do not take it for granted, and know how to make the most of the opportunity.
They could have succeeded in Cuba if capitalist pigs hadn't cut off trade plus confiscation of supplies but that's not what the pigs who raped the working class BEFORE THE REVOLUTION
I’m an automotive technician at a Ford dealership. I see these cars everyday, and it never crosses my mind that there are people out there that would love to see them. I love this video so much. Wish I could buy him a mustang!
I live in The Netherlands, and Mustangs are more rare than Ferraris. Mustangs were simply not sold at our Ford dealerships until 2015 ( 6th gen Mustang ). Everytime I see or hear one it turns my head, just because they're so rare. ( Also, they're REALLY expensive here, because of taxes. A stock Mustang GT costs around $ 116,000 after tax )
"Just the horse gives me the sensation of potential" Ford needs a 10 second ad for the mustang with just that quote. Just like Yoel said it. Then they owe him a mustang for all the sales.
Well actually potencia means both, potential and power, strength, the ability to do something effectively. I'm Mexican so to us that word can be used both ways. Spanish is my first language aswell.
@@darcandelaria No. Potencial is potential. With emphasis on the last syllable, cial. Pontencia has emphasis on the middle syllable, as Yoel pronounced it.

To this human being, Joel, was deprived of the privilege of owning a car by the ECONOMIC BLOCKADE. Now, read: The Economic Blockade that United States imposed on Cuba, and which has been uninterrupted for more than 60 years, is product of the revenge of Dulles brothers against Fidel Castro, as a result of Castro expropriating the United Fruit Company (UFCO), more than 100,000 hectares of cultivation (Sugar Cane). Allen Dulles (CIA Director), and his brother John Foster Dulles (US Secretery of State), were a shareholder in UFCO, and were on the payroll for more than 20 years. Both bros. demanded payment from Cuban gov’t for the land expropriated at ridiculously high amount, when United Fruit Co. had obtained these large estates for $7 dollars per hectare and demanded compensation for $6,800 dollars per hectare. Castro was also asked to pay the cost of hotels, houses and casinos owned by the New York mafia and other figures of high politics in the US. As Cuba does not pay, the Economic Blockade continues. “If we can't assassinate Castro, let's assassinate his economy”. Now, 12 Presidents have passed in the White House, and the Blockade continues. Castro, Dulles Bros., Kennedy, LBJ and all that generation have already died; they are no longer here. And the Economic Blockade continues. Why? Why, if Castro NEVER affected the interests of the US people? Castro affected the interests of the New York Mafia, the UFCO and the interests of the Dulles Brothers. The Castro Gov't affected the interests some companies (6 companies), that conspired to assassinate him, but not affected the US People. (It would be an example to say that Mexico imposed an Economic Block on the US, cuz the US Gov’t confiscated properties from “El Chapo”, or from the Mexican Drug Trafficking Cartels). Castro never seized property from US citizens. Castro only seized the property of the New York Mafia. So, why? If perhaps the reason for the Blockade was cuz Castro was an ally of USSR, well, USSR has not existed for 33 years either. Then why? What is the reason for continuing with this Economic Blockade against Cuba? The answer to these questions, in any case, would be: "Cuz a dark power within the US wants to impose itself in Cuba, violating its sovereignty, in the same way that it has done and continues to do so throughout the world with the weakest nations". No common citizen of the US has anything against the Cuban people, but a certain sector of the government's high politics does. Now, If you want to know about the atrocities and massacres of the UFCO and the CIA in Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, Cuba, all the Caribbean and Central America, consult Wikipedia: “Wars of the Banana Republics”. (From Stephen Kinzer book: “The Brothers”). Write the latter that appears in parentheses, and verify this information right here on RU-vid. Or, do the same and search for it on Google. (And In this way, you will understand why Cubans cannot have a car).
Love him! I wish Americans had the same gratitude of what this country offers instead of entitlement. Great commercial for Ford. Hey Ford execs, get this man a Mustang!
@@salvadorvizcarra769 Yeah Salvador, ive seen a few documentaries about the UFC and our involvement in not only Latin America but the Middle East as well. Both political parties have been involved so i do believe it’s deeper than that. The reason we always seem to be in the midst of a new “Red Scare” is it gives us a reason to invade foreign sovereign nations. Gotta stop the communists right? It’s sick what we’ve done over the last 60-70 years. I think the 80s were the worst. Training terrorists to fight communists in the Middle East, arming right wing rebels in Latin America, then opening the border to allow hundreds of thousands of refugees in because we created such a mess everywhere. That is, the Armed Forces of the US. Obviously, the Oil Companies also have the support of this same Army, which they pay for their services. US companies are "Armed", Interventionist and Invasive companies. Now, please check out these FACTS that are on the Web: In 250 years of existence as a nation, the US has fought against 29 sovereign countries. (In Fact, since 1785, we have been involved, for 219 years, in some kind of war. And this wars, against all varieties of sovereign nations. From going against the Sultan of Morocco, to invading the tiny island of Grenada. Well, this means that in our entire history, we have only had 17 years of peace, and even fewer, cuz here the almost 5 years (1861-1865), of our Civil War of Secession are not counted (Union/Confederates), since this war was not with another country, but against us. And the wars against the Native Nations of America are not counted too, for the same reason). Anyway: We fought against 29 countries. We have "grown" 711 times the size of our territory from the original 13 colonies. We have provoked with total impunity, Genocides, inside and outside our own borders, and assassinations of Gov’t. Leaders, Coups d'État and Economic Blockades in 6 UN member nations. (Between 1947 and 1989, the US tried to change other nations gov’ts. 73 times. It includes 66 covert Ops. And 7 overt ones. In Civil Wars: The US has taken advantage of and intervened without justification in the following Civil Wars: In Cuba (1898 and 1960). In Haiti (1813 and then 1915-1934). In Colombia (1899-1902). In Mexico (in 1847 and 1914 and again in 1916). In Russia (1918). In the "Republic Banana Wars" of Central America (1912-1934). In Venezuela (1945 and again in 1948). In China (1857 and 1945-1946). In Korea (1950-1953). In Viet Nam (1959-1975). In Panama (1964 an again 1989). In Central Africa (1969-1974). In Nicaragua (1933 and 1985). In Bosnia (1995)... In Libya, Lebanon, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Afghanistan, etc.). And more: We have almost 800 Military Bases scattered around the world; 93 of which are against China. On the other hand, China and Korea (The "Axis of Evil"), in 1,000 years of history have NEVER invaded anyone. These nations have fought their Civil Wars, defended themselves against foreign invasions, and secured their immediate borders, but they have never been meddling or aggressor countries. Do you know how many Military Bases China or Korea have outside their territory? None. Zero. Any. NADA! They do not have a single Base. These are verifiable Facts. Neither China nor Korea will invade the world; We do... that's DONE, as we do in the Middle East. Iran also does not have a SINGLE MILITARY BASE outside its national territory, and it is surrounded by 16 US Bases, and it is we who call the Iranians Terrorists.

God bless y'all and God bless all the less fortunate people of this world who dream of having a fraction of the freedoms we have and the desire to be treated like a human being.
Yes! To watch their videos and then watch q gender bs makes you sick that Americans are crying about utter nonsense. Like the ASU girls, send them to Cuba for 1 yr. See if they take offense to someone's sticker, hat, shirt & cup or will they just be happy they can have those things?!
Having lived in America my whole life, I keep thinking, “What else could they possible do for a first?” And then you do something so simple and lovely that I would never have thought was a big deal to anybody. Wow! Thank you for helping me rethink my freedom!
It's hard for us Americans to think about what would make a good video of "firsts" because we really don't understand how much we have that people from other countries simply don't. And it's not just that they don't have anything, it's that the system is set up that it's not even a possibility. "Remember: hope is a good thing. Oh man, an amusement park and a shooting range would be good firsts. On the shooting range if its a private club if you call up you can probably get a few people to bring out firearms to shoot.
The dream will get complicated when he has to deal with the dealership people bombarding him for 4 hours on what he should get and what not lol. But, it’ll probably be one he cherishes.
Kind of depresses me knowing that us Americans have such pleasures, while people in Cuba, Afghanistan, Venezuela, etc., are suffering. I pray to God for these people.
What he does not say, for obvious reasons given his audience, is that the reason Cuba does not have this is because of the continued embargo on Cuba. I get it, Castro is an asshole, communism is a failed system that we all should abhor, but Fidel is dead. Short of hosting Soviet missiles, Cuba was never a true threat to the USA, and I think we are all aware of that. There is no good reason for the continued embargo in 2021. Their lives would not become great, as they are still in a broken system, but lifting the embargo would allow the very basics. Trade with the US would allow them to have eggs for his daughters cake. It would allow them to have more in the stores, and American agricultural products. It would make life more bearable for a people who truly did not do anything wrong. We have to stop punishing them.

Yoel, I grew up in hunger and poverty right here in the U.S. And right now, just outside, is my brand new car......and I paid cash for it.....no financing. I never even had the dream that this could happen. I have owned a Mustang. This one is a Jeep. If I can do this, you can do this. It was a big challenge in my life to even have food. Now I have a brand new car that is completely paid for. Amazing.
Thank you for sharing all of Yoel’s firsts with us. As a Mexican American I forget how fortunate we are to live in this country. How privileged we are and how we are free to make our own choices. I pray for Cuba everyday.
I want to see his reaction when he sees the auction prices of classic cars that are everywhere in Cuba. Hundreds of thousands, millions. that would be another emotional shock to him. A reversal. Something that is so common over there is now rare, sought after, and so incredibly valuable over here.
Mari- You should go back to the dealership or call them and ask to speak to the Customer Service or the Sales Manager. Explain your previous visit to the dealership and some details about Yoel's life & journey to the U.S. Maybe explain some of the car culture of Cuba. Offer to provide your RU-vid channel info for them to take a look at his journey and his visit to their dealership. Definitely explain to them Yoels love of Ford vehicles. Ask if someone would be willing to take Yoel on a test drive while you film his reaction. Afterall, test drives with & without an employee happen all the time. If you have a drivers license you could actually do the test drive. I can't imagine Yoels reaction to riding shotgun in that red truck. You might just have to get one of those big Sparkletts water jugs so he can start saving all his change. A lot of American dreams started with filling those Sparklett bottles! I would also suggest to the employee that it might be good advertisment for the dealership once your video is posted. Either way, I would get someone to take that man of yours on a test drive, riding shotgun & you filming it. Get on the freeway, nothing better than being in a truck on the freeway! Being able to see over the tops of all the cars for miles down the road. Something he probably has never experienced. I hope you can make this happen for him. Good luck. We are all rooting for you, Yoel and Cuba!
My friend was lucky enough to visit Havana about 10 years ago. From everything that I've heard about it, it's like a time machine. It's a beautiful place of wonder and very colorful. I imagine many American's have a similar reaction to this man when they see Havana for the 1st time. It is so good for us all to share in each other's cultures with one another. I hope we can all find peaceful ways to co-exist and share more moments of appreciation between our distinctive cultures together.
Wow, thank you! Quiet or not we appreciate everyone who has been watching our journey. We never thought peopole would be interested but less engaged. It means the world to us.
You are sooo amazing for showing him all these things he's never known before!! God bless y'all!!! Y'all should go back & he could test drive a new Mustang!!!
I am looking forward to the day he has gotten his drivers license, and is able to test drive a new car. Don’t forget us on that day. To many Americans take for granted we we have as a nation.
