The particularly wide-ratio Shimano derailleur gear allows you to choose from 30 switching options for every riding situation. For the rear derailleur and crankset, Cube used the Shimano XT high-end series for the Kathmandu EXC. The fine switching maneuvers, the high-quality workmanship and the low weight are impressive. In combination with shifters and front derailleurs from the Deore series, the Kathmandu EXC provides you with excellent shifting performance.
The models in the Cube Kathmandu trekking bike series are made on the basis of a particularly light aluminum frame. The Cube system luggage rack, which is firmly welded to the frame, also offers high loads and special rigidity. Plus, he just looks really great.
On dirt roads and poor bike paths, the Cube Kathmandu EXC scores points with an easily adjustable air chamber suspension fork from SR Suntour. Thanks to the lockout function, you can easily determine the 63 mm travel. This means you don't lose any power to the suspension fork on fast rides or steeper climbs and you gain a slightly more direct driving experience. Also an advantage if the road gets a little worse or the speed gets too high: the hydraulic Shimano disc brake system can be used in a well-controlled manner with little effort.
