@@johnm840 what you say is true, pretty sure I remember him saying he grew up a Giants fan so I could see it. I will be a fan of his no matter where he plays regardless. But I also remember people saying what you said about Madison Bumgarner. Look what happened there.
@@Pliskin2894 In Giants broadcast area, so I get all the games , and talking heads on Tv and Radio talk about them all the time. A's don't get such a saturated coverage. Madison getting dealt sucked , but player movements is part of it. I try to watch his games in AZ still when I can. I like to watch the best players when I can. so KB here is a huge bonus. Not only is he a great player but a good person too... Not like some of these players like Lebron, all of his anti-American talk too much for me. I digress. Javy, now he's a fun player to watch, wish he got traded with KB to SF.
I'll never forget the smile on Kris Bryant's face as he threw to first for the last out of the WS and I think many cubs fans feel the same way. Part of the franchise forever. It's really nice to see that his time with the Cubs was meaningful to him.
I would 'like' your comment, but you already have 17 thumbs-up, so I would only spoil things.👍 KB's first season in Arizona was a lost year, but he's off to a good start in 2023. A genuinely good guy.
How appropriate it was for Bryant to Rizzo to be the out that finally wins the World Series for the Cubs. He WAS a part of Cubs history! Thank you, Kris 😢
@@claydouglas2526 most people are. No big deal. I’ve been a bulls fan since the 90s, and it’s been tough the past few years watching the games until this year. Most fans don’t enjoy watching their teams lose. I feel sorry for lions and jets fans. Lol
I'm a Phillies fan with no connection to Bryant at all but this got me emotional. Can only imagine how much he meant to Cubs fans after ending the drought and making the final out. That was one of the best World Series I ever watched.
As a life long White Sox fan, I was very sad to see Kris leave the Cubs but I have a feeling he will return one day as a Cub. Thank you for everything you did for the game and for Chicago.
I’m a life long White Sox fan as well but when I heard that Rizzo, Baez, and Bryant I was really sad because they bring a World Series to Chicago but now who knows what will happen with both teams now.
@@Hunter-qv5pc Cubs fan and I felt the same joy when Konerko and those boys brought a WS to Chitown in 06… well at least Konerko was able to finish out his career as a White Sox. Seeing the core pieces go hurts but I guess it had to be done. We weren’t winning with the old core anymore 🤷🏽♂️
Kris Bryant said he would never close the door to make a return to Chicago I hope he comes back we really really miss him that’s one of the players that left a mark in the cubs team and fans
It's a shame that the Cubs showed no interest in him, starting in 2017. It feels so odd that they want to shell out the big bucks to rebuild now, but not when they had all their franchise players still. We'll miss you guys, thank you for some of the best years in Cubs history.
A real catch-22! Cubs honor Bryant at this one game..but dishonored him by not re-signing him with the team in which he began his career with...and won a World Series with. Applause 👏 to you K.B. for you are forever a Cub in the eyes of Chicago fans! 😎
It's a business and it's a sport. Decisions have to make sense for winning and for profit. Looking at what Bryant has done since, it was a good decision. The "biggest fan" is one that wants their team to be successful, not one that gets overly attached to certain players to the detriment of the team.
Such a shame what injuries did to his career, but he will forever be an absolute legend in Cubs history, and one of the most handsome players in MLB history lol
My son and Kris were in the same conference in college. they are the same age. My son, lefty pitcher, got him out once, gave up a double to Kris and intentionally walked him 4 times. Kris was a beast in college.
Im a life long Cubs fan and was so happy to have Kris apart of the team for all those years and the Championship. Awesome tribute and ovation. Real class by the Cubs. Always wishing former Cubs the best on their new teams. GO CUBS!!! Got a new subscriber. Was fun to watch. Great video
I like the Cubs because they had a few players I favored. Kris, Anthony, Javy, and Wilson Contreras who is still there. Really nice of them to honor him, but not trading him would have been better. He has been getting his hit on in a Giants uniform.
We had to trade him, he would have been a free agent and we don’t have the money to pay him. So we Either had to trade him or let him walk away at the end of the season with no return whatsoever.
@@Chillydall02 Thank you Josh. I did think it was the money that kept him from a renewed contract. Some players, even if they are worth the money, may not be signed because of budget constraints, but I was so used to these guys being a part of the Cubs team. I wish them all continued success. Have a wonderful day.
@@copp214 yeah definitely, even though I knew we were gonna most likely trade him, it just doesn’t feel right. I thought he was gonna be in a Cubs uniform for his whole career. You have a good day as well.
I know this was a year ago, but please come back Kris. I’m a diehard Cubs fan and the 2016 World Series was truly not winnable without you❤ I miss you Kris, I hope you come back
Always my favorite. They won that World Series on my birthday. I no longer celebrate my birthday, it is the anniversary of the day that the Cubs won the World Series❤️ #17 #alwaysaCubtome
I'm not even a Cubs fan, but Bryant is, without a doubt, a rare breed of player. I'd be very shocked if he doesn't make it into the Hall of Fame. Would've loved to seen him suit up Southside.
I was so depressed watching KB tear up during this tribute. I’m going to be equally depressed later this year when Baez and Rizzo each make their returns for the first time
An historic player in Cubs history. No question about it. Now playing for an historic Giants team. A team doing things that have never been done. KB has become a part of this Giants team. Will he ever return to the Cubs? Impossible to know. But personally, I hope he signs with the Giants. Because I truly believe that they need each other.
I hope he gets his jersey retired. I know there were a lot of Cubs better all time but he brought happiness to the field of darkness after 108 years. Not the best, but the most important cub of all time in my opinion.
His peak was with the cubs. check his stats since leaving, he’s hardly played for the rockies due to injuries. Hasn’t been the same since that helmet hit years ago
What a legendary team of the Cubs in 2016 with Kris Bryant Anthony Rizzo Ben Zobrist Addison Russell Jon Lester Wilson Contreras Javier Baez And much more great player that will lived forever in the memories of Cubs fans and that world series championship
@@thedude3065 Yup,for Reggie Jackson. Even though I'm a Yankee fan,I've always had a spot in my heart for the Cubbies. It doesn't feel right for Rizzo being anywhere else but Chicago. Aaron Judge also wears 99 because he couldn't get 44 or 9,which Reggie wore in Oakland
I'm thankful for the things he did for my Giants, but he did so much more for the Cubs organization. He should retire as a Cub when he finally hangs up the cleats.
it would've been ideal but not real if we didn't let him go we'd waste an opportunity to boltser our futures and free up financial room for any free agents we might not have signed Marcus Stroman if Bryant had stayed, though despite all of that Kris has total autonomy over where he goes next
