I called my ailing, aging father this morning. He has waited his entire life for this moment. He cant remember where I live anymore, but he was singing Go Cubs Go at 330 this morning. I was so happy, I wept myself.
Mr R 100%, I know I'll react the exact same way if I ever witness my Knicks win a championship. that guy probably thought he never would see a Cubs championship in his lifetime. had to be so surreal for him.
I've cried already. You see the adrenaline go through the elderly. they're absolutely drained of energy and then after seeing that last out they jump around and scream as if they were a teenager again. warms my heart, a game truly to rememeber.
@MANCHESTER UNITED Of course Football (soccer) is way bigger... But don't take this from them man... This is historical for and amazing for their fans. ;)
@MANCHESTER UNITED of course soccer is bigger. Half the world can't afford ac. All you need is a half inflated ball in your 3rd world country. It's not even big in America in poor areas. Too much equipment
Thought my dad had a heart attack when they won. He sat there without moving for a few seconds before he just jumped up and hugged be before running around the house.
OK M A D D I E Y do u say that?? With the tema the cubs have, i don’t think it’ll last another 100+ years to win another one!! They are one of the most talented teams in baseball I’d say top 5 (this is not in order but the top 5 teams is Yankees cubs dodgers Astros redsoxs
@@josiahquincy2744 This was the greatest game and greatest series in history - you could NOT have scripted a more perfect movie than this. Holy Crap - Rest Easy, Harry.
It SHOULD’VE been at Wrigley Field but they had such a stupid rule in place at that time. The Cubs were the better team by record. The rule was the winner of the all star game would have home field advantage in the World Series. They got rid of that stupid rule the next season.
108 years in the making. My grandpa was less than 1 year old the last time the Cubs won the World Series. He died at the age of 99 almost 10 years ago. Congrats to all the Cubs fans. Those who got to see this moment and those who never got that chance.
As a New York Yankees fan, I cant imagine what the people of Chicago was feeling after waiting all this time. Congradulations to the Chicago Cubs a well earn Victory.
I couldn't care less about baseball (or any other sport to be fair), but this was legitimately touching. Great to see so many people so happy. Congrats, Cubs.
To this day, i dont know how anyone can watch this and not tear up. It gets me everytime. Especially since our big three is gone now glad we were able to get one ring.
Frank Soos yo me too bro im crying and im a mets fan . i can feel their pain in a way . and relate also just the joy of baseball is great and human emotion
I'm a Sox fan so trust me, we were familiar with 'The Curse of the Bambino' before we've won 3 WS titles and how great it's felt too! Congrats to ALL Cubs fans on this one last night!! After 107 years, you REALLY deserved this!! :-)
Thank you. I still feel like I’m going to wake up from a dream. Easily the greatest sports night in my life. I jumped and screamed for joy. I cried like a baby. I was able to celebrate this with my dad.
@@thelastboyscott I definitely cried knowing how badly the fans had wanted it for so long. I don't think I'll ever be as emotional for sports as I was after the 2004 Series. I know the Cubs waited longer but it's great when any team breaks such a long streak.
Cried for an hour straight! Watched the game with my Mom and Dad, Brother, and 5 of our friends... My Father and Mother had waited their entire lives for this! I am just so thankful my Father got to witness this before he would pass on 5 years later. This is, and will forever be, one of my fondest memories. I love my Cubbies! Thank you, boys!
@wongtimefunguy The 1982 Brewers are the team that made me a life long Baseball fan. I was only 6, but I remember so much from that season, and those Playoffs are forever burned into my memory! Of course, living in Chicago, things changed the following season thanks to the 1983 "Winning Ugly" White Sox. So, then I was a White Sox fan... for about 8 months, and that is because of... The 1984 Chicago Cubs! THAT team captured my heart forever, and I have bled Cubbie Blue ever since! However, if not for the awesome1982 Brewers, I might not have ever become a baseball fan.
SteffieM seriously! I became so superstitious throughout the entire game. When the Cubs were up for bat, I felt they did better when I didn't watch. Indians up for bad I would watch n hoped they would do bad lol. Stupid I know! But when they won...my first reaction was "Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!" Then tears of pure happiness! I was exhausted after all the games. Completely worth it!
NarwhalBagel Same here... especially when you see the older folks... made me miss my dad... wish you were here dad to see your favorite team of all time win it all
actually in 1945 they kicked out a man by the name of billy sianis because he had brought his smelly goat Murphy to the game after they threw him out he shouted "them cubs ain't gonna win no more" and from 1945-2016 they would not appear in the world series and they didn't win one from 1908-2016
Tomas Pena I'm a Red Sox fan, and I was just as emotional over the Cubs winning than I was when the Sox reversed their own curse in '04. There's nothing like the euphoria of the impossible dream coming true, and to get to share in that again was a phenomenal experience.
I am a diehard Giants fan. But I am SOOOO happy Chicago took it! I didn't know your suffering, I can't imagine your joy, but even I'm crying for an epic win! Yay Chicago!!!
As a Red Sox fan who of all fanbases might understand the feelings of Cubs fans today -- CONGRATULATIONS. The long wait is finally over. And even better -- the way the Cubs are built there's plenty of hope for another one. Cursebreaker Theo does it right. Enjoy Cubs fans! Tearing up a little myself remembering the magic of '04.
I would go so far to say that Theo Epstein is the Nick Saban of Baseball. That man brings you world championships. And he can win more since he is still got a long career ahead of him.
Seriously though, watching this gives me that feeling I had back in 04, so glad the Cubs won this and were able to overcome their curse. The amount of success that followed the breaking of that curse has been awesome for the Red Sox, and this Cubs team looks like they're built to do something very similar.
You have no idea what it's like for this to happen for us. I cried this day. I'll never forget it. I'm so glad I got to spend it with my dad. He molded me into the cub fan I am today. I love the Cubs. I'll never forget this. I hope I can have memories like this with my kids.
Epic win! I wish my grandfather and dad could've lived to see the Cubs win! They always hoped it would happen. Congrats to the Cubs, Chi-town and the fans around the world! So deserved!!!
If you're a Cubs fan know that watching the Cubs is never going to be the same again. I'm a Red Sox fan and noticed this after 2004. Before our curse was broken you always hoped and prayed that this might be the year. There was always a certain emotional reaction to everything because of all the history of losing. You always had this nervous feeling in your gut that it was going to get away again. But after it finally happens and you've got your first World Series win all that goes away. Now it's more like: "Okay, so they didn't win it this year, but they did before". I'm not saying its bad, its just very different.
Yeah, but we still got Wrigley and you got Fenway. We should be fine! Not to mention, didn't you guys win like, 4 more times after winning it all in 2004?!? LOL! Anyway, you are kinda right. There is no more talk of curses or Billy Goats, no talk of black cats or Bartmann... Now, we just want to see another winner! NOW! haha
Exactly!! There's no stress if they lose in the playoffs anymore. I got an ulcer from the '84 Cubs just trying to win the division. Now it's kinda of expected.
All of the circumstances of this World Series run and championship will literally never happen again. For an organization with such loyal fans to go through so many ups and devastating downs throughout more than a century. Amazing. Go Cubs go!
As a Red Sox fan, I remember '04 like it was yesterday. To see the reaction of Cub fans after their winning it after their drought is freakin awesome. Takes me back. Congrats Cubbies. Enjoy it!!
My boyfriend and his family are long suffering Cubs fans. They lost their shit last night and I couldn't help getting swept up in it too. Congrats Cubies and to all you fans who've supported them all theses years. Your happiness was beautiful and touching.
Every reality show ever made combined fails to provide a 1 millionth of the real emotion this video shows in 4 minutes. Awesome editing, music and presentation. Congrats to all Cubs fans, yall deserve it!!!!
As a Yankees fan I tear up every time I watch this video because the Cubs and their fans went through a century and then some of suffering. And to come back from 3-1 down in the series to win it all was incredible. And they just tore the whole team down this year. They definitely should’ve won at least two titles with that team they had. Even at the start of 2016 I thought they had the best shot to win the World Series and they did.
This has been a great sports year. First the Cavs and then the Cubs. It is nice seeing teams that never win finally get their due. Everyone gets sick of the same team winning all the time.
From a die hard Bostonian Red Sox fan, congrats to the Cubs! So happy for all the loyal Cubs fans that got to experience one of the most amazing feelings of their lives!
From an Indians (Guardians) fan, born into the Tribe and will die with it, hats off to the Chicago Cubs and their fan base y’all deserve this and good fight! Such videos as this bring me to tears as I can only imagine a day where I will experience such joy as this❤
Indians fan here. Much respect to the Cubs. That was a heck of a series. And if we had to loose, I'm glad it was to a team that deserved this. What do you guys say to a rematch next year?
You''ll get your chance next year. Believe that! At least the Cleveland sports curse had been broken thanks to LeBron. Thank God 2016 is the year of breaking curses. And I truly hope 2017 will be the year that will end The Curse of Rocky Colavito.
Jarrod Schrunk Hey look at it this way, one team had to lose. If either team won, I would have been happy! Both teams deserved the win, luckily there is always next year. Good luck, Indians.
@ Jarrod Schrunk First and foremost...thanks for the class Jarrod! You know one thing, being a life-long Cubs fan since the first grade('90) and from Texas, I was literally saying the same thing during game 7. I was like, "If my Cubs lose, it's gonna hurt...bad!" Not nessisarly hurting for myself, but for the players who would've come so damn close. "But if the Indians do take it, I would be very happy for club and fanbase as well!" Since it too, had been a longtime coming of losing seasons for the Indians franchise. In my opinion, neither teams deserved to lose. They both were so damn good and hungry. Had the Cubs lost, I too would have been grateful that it would be to a well deserved club like the Indians! Which is why they turned in one of the, if not the best, 7 game World Series event of all time! If the Indians get back to the Big Show, I'll be pulling immensely for the Tribe, for y'all deserve y'alls time as well!
- I'm a Blue Jays fan & I gotta just say, as much as I would've loved for the Jays to win it this year, seeing all of the reactions to the Cubs winning the World Series is really kinda neat! I don't feel all that bad now. I know that when the Red Sox finally snapped the Curse of the Bambino in 2004 that was a big deal too, but the CUBS winning the World Series? The fashion in which they won it? WAY more dramatic & memorable. Down 3-1 in the Series & having to win the last 2 games on the road to complete the comeback? Remarkable! Shouldn't be that suprising though, the Cubbies had the best record in baseball this year & were heavy favorites going in to the playoffs, but to be tested hard in all 3 of their playoff series & still able to wind up winning the World Series, to have to go through 3 grinding rounds of playoff baseball to finally break that 'Billy Goat' curse? Well worth it! I know I just HAD to tune in to see if the Cubs really were actually going to finally win a World Series because you knew it would be kind of like a moment in time, the Cubbies winning a WS title on LIVE TV & in color for the 1st time EVER. And the 1st time many of us here actually can say we saw the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. Pretty special. To all you long-suffering Cub fans who endured so many years of frustration & disappointment...Congratulations! You guys deserve to cheer for a winner at long last. And the Cubs earned EVERY bit of their WS title even if they had to really be pushed hard vs the Giants, Dodgers, & Cleveland Indians. The BEST championships are the ones that you had to really battle all the way through to get there. Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs & to ALL you Cubs fans everywhere. Way to go folks!! :)
I was born and raised a Toronto fan. I still remember jumping up and down and screaming in 92/93. At the end of the day, though, I think I enjoyed seeing this win even more. The Jays didn't have to wait 108 years between championships.
That is awesome, my dad missed this by four years. Wish he could have seen this. He used to take me to games when I was a kid back in the late 60s early 70s. Got to see Banks, Williams, Santo, Jenkins. This is amazing! I still can't believe it!!!
@ Progressive Blues Guitar First and foremost...terribly sorry for your loss my man! I lost my father in 2012, who was also a Cubs fan like myself. I had no idea he was a Cubs fan due to him being imprisoned since I was 3 years old, and did time straight until I was 21. Didn't find out he was a Cubs fan until the same year he passed. Odd! 😊 You were very lucky to have a father who took you to see those legends. Wow! I'd like to think that God had your pops in the best seat up there in that house, embraced with Ernie Banks and Ron Santo going absolutely berserk as they won!
Cubs winning the world series brings hope for all teams to win a major championship. If the Cubs can win the world series after not winning one in over 108 years then there is hope for other teams. Like My San Diego Chargers. Yeah they aren't good now. But seeing cubs winning has brought me hope that they will win one day. It may not be this year or next year or in 5 years. But I know there is hope. and Teams of all sports should be inspired by the Cubs. Curse or no Curse this team fought their asses off to win the world series,
+ for american I am Korean. I want you to change the ID photo right away. The photo shows a war criminal who killed and oppressed many Asians and committed acts that even humans could not do. It's a flag like the Hickenreuz of the flag of the Nazis. Change it right now.
Even though my team the LA Dodgers lost to the cubs I gotta give it to them they deserved it. Was rooting for the cubs in all of their games against Cleveland.
For all those who waited for years to see this team finally win a title is an absolute once in a lifetime greatest moment the nation will never forget. PS I love the music.
This video is my emotions 30hrs ago times 100! Every single one of those reactions had me crying again and again. Love my Cubbies and my fellow true Cubbie fans!
Masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations the curse is finally over, I want to see Steve Bartman that poor guy finally gets back a normal life.
yoda8802 I've looked at that inning a few time recently (because espn is the only thing I watch) and no one seems to remember that routine ground ball that would've ended the inning that what's his face booted right after the bartman thing happened. also I don't think it was dusty's fault entirely.
***** I can agree with that. Like I blame Bruce bochy for bringing in Santiago casilla every night to blow yet another three run lead in the ninth. But overall it's casilla's fault for not making good pitches.
This is coming from a Yankees fan. I just want to congratulate all you Cubs fans. You guys have been waiting so long for this moment and you deserve it so much. Since my Yankees didn't make the playoffs I was rooting for you guys throughout the whole postseason. You guys are now World Series Champions and I am so happy for you guys. Party on Cubs Nation. Raise that W!!!! Go Cubs Go!!
happy for the Cubs and all its fans. 108 years. there are old dudes out there at wrigley. 70,80yrs old 90 yrs old. just waiting for this moment. year in and year out they always say this is our year. and now it happened. congrats to all the die hard fans. go Cubs go
I'm all tears still crying I cannot believe it but it's true.. My cubbies did it and what a year, what a team what a dream came true... #GoCubsGo #IamflyingtheWlikecrazy
I gotta tell ya, I have watched a lot of these kinds of videos, but yours is, by far, the absolute best. The music choice, the clips....wow. As a life long Cubs fan, this brought tears to my eyes. From the young to the old, we have endured many years of hardships and heartbreaks. This seemed like an impossible mountain to climb at times, a truly out of reach milestone. But the sheer joy, the wild cheers, and the many tears, our beloved Cubs let us see history being. My mon is 87 years old.....a die-hard baseball fan. She got to see this game, the greatest World Series game ever played. I am sure that Jack Brickhouse and Harry Carey danced in the streets that night.....along with the other countless, die-hard Cubs fans!
I'm a Tigers fan too, but the Cubs definitely have a special place in my heart, especially right now. They've waited WAY too long for this. I was pulling for them all the way. 108 years of curse and agony are over!!!
Luk 99 holy shit this will be my reaction x10 if the Lions win it all; we were at this level when they finally made the play-offs a few years back :') Congrats to all the Cubbies in Chi-Town and across the world! - love from northern MI :)
i felt the same way everyone else feels on here, this finally happened!!! to all of us cubs faithful , to those whose family, friends, significant others who didn't make it this far in their lives to witness this....that win was for us that witnessed it and for them. GO CUBS GO!!!!! #flytheW
As a fan from New England I know how it feels to win. But seeing the Cubs win put the biggest smile I ever had for a team that wins a championship. 108 years. It was the longest drought in history. Ever I. The World, now that they win. Chicago can now know how it feels to win a World Series
I've watched this at least 20 times in the past few weeks and I cry every time. Each time I watch it, I still can't believe the Cubs finally did it until the end. I just can't get over it.
I'm a diehard Red Sox fan and I still remember how it felt to finally win the World Series again. I've never been a Cubs fan, but I definitely had tears watching this. Your team fought through a hell of a series. You guys deserve all of this!
I watch this video whenever I need a cry. My Grandmother was a Cubs fan all her life from the time the club had a minor league team in Goldsboro NC where she grew up. She never got to see the Cubs win the series. That win wasn't for the people watching. It was for her and all those like her who never got to see the dream come true.
And to think of how many Cubs fans went to their graves without ever seeing a moment like this--it makes this moment all the more beautiful, meaningful, and special to the world of sports, especially for the Cubs fans among us today.
One of the first things I thought of after they won was how sad it was that team legends like Santo, Banks, and Harry Caray never saw this day during their lifetimes. :(
this is awesome!!! i;m not a baseball fan my sport is football, but i'm wholeheartedly very happy for cubs fans everywhere way to go cubs!!! truly amazing and awesome!! i love to see people crazy happy!!! this is by far the best video, thanks for sharing
I still get tears watching the events of 11-2-2016. I'll never forget that day. Even if our glory was short lived, we were the top of the world for that time. Go Cubs Go!
Beautifull! Absolute uninhibated elation! I cried last night when they finally won it and I started again while watching this. The shared collective joy is indescribable. High five to all my fellow Cubs fans! The Chicago Cubs are World Series Champions! BEST. NIGHT. EVER!
THIS IS WHY I LOVE SPORTS 😃😁😭. I have never rooted for another team besides "my teams," GO ANGELS, but to see history like this is well deserved. So for the sake of history I do say... go Cubs gooo! :) #108gone
I have seen this video many times, it never gets old and Everytime I see it again it brings me to tears. I'm so grateful and thankful I have witnessed this in my life, many people have lived and died and never got to see this. Here's to them.
Watching this from Norway. Have close to zero knowledge about baseball. Amazing to see what sports can do for people. Love all sports. All the emotions it brings. Safe to say im a Cubs fan now. WAY TO GO CUBS!!!! THE WAIT IS OVER!
Its been just over 4 yrs and i still get emotional. Watching the Cubs win the World Series was the greatest sports event I have ever seen. I LOVE Baseball. This was a HUGE thrill in my lifetime. Something neither of my grandfathers saw in their lifetimes. I am not even from Chicago. It makes me cry every time I watch a video of the Cubs winning the World Series. I watched every single inning of that Series, and the NLCS and NLDS as well. It is just something I will always remember.
I'd be lying to you if I said I didn't cry watching this. I'm so fucking happy right now, this is all I could've asked for in my lifetime. Thank you Theo, Maddon and the entire team! #FlyTheW
What a great upload putting this together. I grew up in the west suburbs of Chicago. So many great memories of Harry Caray and Steve Stone broadcasting the games...truly legendary. The Cubs deserved this and so do the lifelong Cubs fans. They are worthy title holders indeed and have EARNED it. So exciting and fun to watch Cub fans reactions to the win. Made my day :)
Congratulations Cubs Fans, you've waited so long for this moment for joy and tears and finally that moment has come. I could not more prouder than I am for all of you on The Notth Side because I've been there and I have felt what you're feeling now as those tears are rolling down my cheeks now watching this video of your celebration. Enjoy, and savor, this moment for as long as you can. Red Sox Fan
36 year old Toronto Maple Leaf fan here.....I'd like to think there would be a similar reaction to a Stanley Cup in Toronto. 54 years is a LONG TIME.......exactly half of the 108 years the Cubbies had to wait. I couldn't even imagine.
