@CCRider5312 The cubs have one of the better lineups, in my opinion, that we have seen lately. Elder really struggled with this lineup. Real good chance of seeing them again. We'll pull it together as long as our batd stay hot and our lineup stays healthy.

@raulramirez1711 if we put up runs like that, we need to do a better job of shutting them down and take them out of the game. Morton needs to stop being a bitch and get back in rotation. Need to buckle down and take care of business and the postseason won't be as difficult.

Notes From the Game: - The Braves MIGHT have to re-evaluate Bryce Elder's Role as part of this Postseason Rotation. He's unable to finish the 4th, and allows 5 Runs on 7 Hits, Walking 4 and Striking Out 2. Mercifully, he gets a No Decision on this, keeping him at 12-4, but his ERA is now at 3.81. It's now a Split-Decision between Elder or Wright for the 3rd Starting Slot... and I'm leaning towards the Latter. + Credit to the Bullpen for another EXCELLENT Performance tonight! Stephens, Johnson, Hand, and Iglesias all combined to FINISH the Final 5 1/3 Innings, Allowing Just 1 Run on 4 Hits, Walking None and Striking Out 5. Brad Hand gets the Win in relief, Pitching a FLAWLESS 8th Inning, and improves to 5-2, though his ERA remains at a High 5.13. Iglesias gets his 31st Save, Allowing Just 1 Hit, but Striking Out 2. His ERA stands at 2.85. ROTATION TOTAL; 9 Innings, 6 Runs, 13 Hits, 4 Walks, 7 Strike Outs, NO Home Runs Allowed. 2-10 with Runners in Scoring Position, and Five Men Left on Base.... YET WE OVERCAME A SIX-RUN DEFICIT? IS THIS REAL? + HOW ABOUT SUPERMAN KP TO GET THE SHOW STARTED! 1-2 with a SOLO SUPER MISSILE TO LEFT-CENTER! AND THAT WAS THE BRAVES' 300TH SUPER MISSILE THIS SEASON AS A TEAM! Pillar stands in with a .230/.250/.678 Line with 9 Home Runs and 31 RBIs in 78 Games! + MATT OLSON DOIN' THE BASICS! 1-3 with a Walk, Single, and an RBI! Olson Holds Onto a .281/.389/.993 Line with 53 Home Runs and 134 RBIs through 157 Games! + OZUNA KEEPS ON GRINDING! 1-4 with an RBI Double in the 6th! Ozuna stands firm with a .268(~.000)/.340(-.001)/.872(-.002) Line through 139 Games! + ACUNA DOIN' MVP THINGS! 1-4 with a TWO-RUN SUPER MISSILE THAT JUUUSSSTTT CLEARED THE CHOP HOUSE WALL IN RIGHT! Acuna holds firm with a .335/.414/1.012 Line with 41 Home Runs, 103 RBIs, and 68 Stolen Bases in 154 Games! + SAY IT AIN'T SO, SEAN! Despite an 0-3 Night, HE DRIVES IN THE GAME-DECISIVE RUNS ON A FATAL FAILURE BY SEIYA SUZUKI, WHO MISJUDGED A LINER COMING AT HIM! Murphy clings onto a .255/.367/.853 Line with 21 Homers and 68 RBIs in 106 Games! Truth be told though, I was shouting to the TV 'HE MISSED THAT? SEIYA MISSED THAT?!'. + OTHER NOTABLES: Ozzie Albies and Michael Harris II had 2-4 Nights; Murphy, Riley, Olson, and Arcia Recoded 1 Walk Each, Meaning Every Braves' Starter Reached Base at some point tonight. Harris and Riley had the Most Strikeouts though, with 2 Each. + NO QUIT IN THIS CHOPPIN' GREAT TEAM! DOWN 6-0, THEY DID NOT FLINCH! Elder had another Rough Night, but an EXCELLENT Performance from the Bullpen, combined with a Solid Defensive Performance and a RELENTLESS Offense, and the Braves' Pull off another Comeback to be Remembered! The Pitching Rotation's gonna have to Move Mountains, but with an Offense like this? Perhaps it may not be as challenging as we think! - So My Fears are Realized: The Philadelphia Phillies have CLINCHED a Wild Card Slot, and are looking to lock up the Top-Slot in the WC, which means it's VERY LIKELY WE'LL SEE THEM AGAIN IN THE NLDS. - However, with the Braves' Comeback Victory over the Cubs, that accomplishes THREE THINGS: (1) The Milwaukee Brewers are the 2023 NL CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPIONS. (2) San Diego and San Francisco Live to Fight Another Day in the Wild Card Race. (3) The Miami Marlins are now within Reach of Stealing the FINAL Wild Card Slot from Chicago. How fun would it be to DENY a Team a Postseason Spot and have THREE NL East Teams in the Postseason? - Lastly, The Dodgers SPLIT their Doubleheader against the Rockies, while the Orioles Won 1-0 over the Nationals, Meaning the Braves still have a 3 Game Lead on Home-Field Advantage with 5 to Play. Just have to keep Winning! TOMORROW: ROUND 2 OF 3 Between the Cubs and Braves will take place Under the Evening Skies of Truist Park. Jameson Taillon will step to the rubber for the Cubbies, who had a Very Disappointing Year on the Northside, Going 8-10 with an ERA of 5.05, and his September hasn't been much better, going 1-1 with an ERA of 3.18. Meanwhile, DARIUS VINES will take up Battle Stations for the Braves, Who's Mainly been doing Bullpen Appearances for the Braves in his last 3 Starts, but has been inconclusive so far in September, allowing 5 Runs on 7 Hits in 8 1/3 Innings so far. Perhaps a Decent Starting Appearance may change that? Can VINES and the Braves Keep the Winning Ways Going during this CRITICAL FINAL HOMESTAND? Or will Taillon give the Cubs some hope in clinching that FINAL WILD CARD SLOT? We will find out at 7:20 P.M. EDT / 6:20 P.M. CDT on Marquee Sports Network (Cubs), Bally Sports South (Braves), and MLB Network (Out-Of-Market ONLY)! This Game will also be available for FREE to watch on MLB.TV for Out-Of-Market Customers! Braves also feast on bullpen. The offensive stats jump up real quick against bullpen pitching for some reason. And Steele is the best pitcher Chicago has.

This team just find ways to win. Despite all the records they’ve set this year, quite a few of their wins were nights where they were just more resilient and just clawed their victory by any means. I’m pretty sure we are going to have at least a game or two in the postseason where it’s down the wire and we need some Braves magic in the 9th or extra innings. Everybody is looking at the pitching and hoping that doesn’t become our kryptonite in the postseason. I have confidence this rotation and our bullpen will be ready when it’s time. With the depth of this team and all they’ve accomplished so far, I have a hard time seeing them S the bed. Worst case scenario, we may have a few moments where they have us on pins and needles but ultimately confident they get us to the finish line. #ForTheA #4Life

The bullpen did a good job holding the Cubs in check and the Braves offense was able to comeback. I felt bad for Suzuki he literally cost the Cubs the game dropping the ball in the 9th inning...not sure how he lost the ball but I wonder does he wear contact lens because he was messing with his eyes after that. The starting pitching is going to be worrisome in the Postseason...Strider is good and hopefully Fried and Morton will be ready to go and Bryce Elder can keep it together.
