They won this game despite of Vogt. I've never understood why you take out a reliever (Avila) who went 7 up, 7 down, in 29 pitches, and he's your long man out of the bullpen. Predictably, he brings in Herrin, and the implosion occurs. Vogt's handling of the bullpen has been crap for the last month. They're winning despite him.
I would have to agree with every point there expect the last one. Interestingly, the juggernauts of NYY, BAL, PHI and LAD have all seen similar, if not exact same regression.
On a night......that did not start out good for the Guards and SP Ben Lively. Lively had command issues and didn't last long and put him and teammates down 3-0. Thankfully, the Guards offense was eventually able to start collecting clutch hits off cubs SP Imanaga and rally back into the game. Jhonkensy "Big Christmas" Noel powerfully delivers not one but two clutch HRs to take the lead only to have the overworked bullpen squanders the lead ☹ I am glad, the resilient Guardians manufactured a go ahead run and with the help of All-star Closer Emmanuel Clase, gained the W. 😏
Sandlin is one of our weaker arms and Barlow has been having weird stretches where he's hot and cold. The top 3 guys in the bullpen have been pitching on limited innings since the Allstar break. It seems like Vogt is trying to preserve arms but he needs to balance that with winning games because we don't want to lose the division.
@@tyranttracergaming that’s not true… Sandlin is proven to be reliable all relief pitchers have these types of ups and downs he needs to get his confidence back and Barlow will be fine
I hadn't been to a Guardians game in 2 years. It sure wasn't boring. Quick shout out to Susan Tedeschi who sang a great America, the Beautiful (7th inning stretch). I sure wish the bullpen (Barlow and Sandlin are in struggle mode) hadn't blown a 5 run lead but great to see J Naylor just give the fans what we all needed: just shorten the swing and get a basehit. Guards up 9-8. Bring in Clase ... Ballgame!

Not happy with Guardians in this game. 1st base coach needs to do better. Sending runners and being thrown out by a mile. And various other things. Blew a big lead.
How? lol. I think u guys got very lucky to even have a chance! Our idiot bullpen guys who have sucked all year almost blew the game. Shouldn’t have been that close in my opinion.
