Just what I needed when I needed it. My Cuisinart has been boxed for a few years while I moved around the state. Now that I'm in my forever home, I'm ready to use it. I love that I can buy a block of Tillamook cheese and grate it myself - no cellulose! Ditto for chopped onions. Now, I can prep my veggies all at once and enjoy making my week's worth of recipes with ease.

Very helpful. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to get the pusher off the lid! I really wish the pusher assembly came apart. Super annoying that it doesn’t
I would like to know where is the part that holds the large pusher that I see the illustrator using to guide the food to the blade. I have watched this video and the one that came with my food processor that I purchased in 2013 for three hours. This is actually my first attempt to use the appliance. It works well with the smaller feeder tube. Thanks for any clarity anyone could provide. And yes I found out tonight after visiting Cuisinart website that there is a recall on the chopping/mixing blade for model DLC8S and a lot others.
This was excellent. My processor is old. I got a new bowl . It is so difficult to line up the work bowl with the spot in the back ( sometimes I have succeeded mostly not)& place the cover on so that it lines up & will work. The pusher will not work if not lined up. Then, I couldn’t get the bowl off.my arm & wrist hurt from all the work. It would have been faster & easier to cut all by hand. I have it this new bowl, etc. For a year.
I just cannot detach the sleeve from the tube. I badly need to shred some cabbage and I am going to it manually. I have the machine for a couple of months and tried to call Amanda who asked me to send the photos to her. I did not hear back. That machine should be wonderful if we know how to use it. The video is very useful is all the parts are the right ones.
still cannot get the food processor to turn on - I have followed the attachment process carefully several times and it will not turn on. I find the base bowl very stiff to get on and off lined up properly

your video is very helpful and professional and much bette than the previous one seen here. I tried to shred some cabbage and I did not succeed to do it in the large tube. I had to use the small one and it took me ages batch by batch. When placing large pieces of cabbage, i could not lock the cover with either small or large quantities. Any helpful tip please? Thanks.
To use the large feeder you have to cut the cabbage into pieces about the size of a small apple so that you can put it deep enough into the feeder so that when you put on the pusher, the pusher can engage with the release mechanism.
Has anyone had any concern with their chopping blade (the S-shaped one)? There was a recall for Cuisinart blades with rivets, but I've never heard of any actual damages from those types. Just wondered if it's safe to use since there was a recall. Something like 8 million were replaced. Thanks.
I’ve been researching food processors and a few days ago I came to a decision. Cuisinart Food Processor, Pro Custom 11 Cup 👍🏼👍🏼 Unfortunately, the dough blade now has to be purchased separately 😢
The smaller feed is stuck in the sleeve. I tried to unlock it but did not succeed. I will call the customer service to find out how to remove it. Good that I have a spare one. It took me months and months to find out how that appliance works. Just today I found out that the sleever should be removed and place back each time we wish to place big amounts of food.
I should add that the dvd never came in the box as you mentioned it. I watch yours which is very good since the old was removed but I still do not know to operate the appliance for shredding. The top part of the sleeve cannot be detached in order to place the food.

I have the Custom 14, and the large pusher just pulls straight up out of the feed tube. (The machine won't run without the pusher being in place, as a safety measure.) On some models there's a locking slider near the top that you have to slide to one side to unlock the pusher, as shown here at 6:04. Then you need to squeeze the bottom of the clear tab on the back as you lift the pusher. You can see that clear tab engaging when she shows the close-up at 5:48.
By the way, to shred cabbage, don't use the shredding disk, use the slicing disk. Since cabbage is a layered vegetable, the "slicing" disk will give you shreds. (The shredding disk will give you mush.)
Thank goodness for this. I didn’t get a “how to use” dvd and the link to the ‘’/videos/how-to” only links to the product page. This is my first ever food processor and I definitely needed some guidance.
I still cannot tell how you separate the medium feeder from the large food feeder. Mine came in the box already together and I've never been able to separate them despite watching multiple videos. Can anyone help?
I have the 11 cup food processor. It did not come with a apparatus for kneading bread dough . On the box it specifically said kneading in the list of what it could do but there was no picture of the specific apparatus for kneading on the other side of the box which showed the blades included. I received this two weeks ago and when planning to make bread I discovered the omission. I had bought the 11 cup specifically because it said on the box 'kneading'.

In-depth testing showed that the chopping blade actually worked better for blending dry ingredients and later kneading dough than the dough blade, so the dough blade was phased out as redundant.
You miss spoke ! When you install the stem onto the bottom of the disk , line up the arrows and with light downward pressure, turn it CLOCKWISE until it clicks into place ! Then to release the stem from the disk , pull back on the button and turn the stem COUNTER CLOCKWISE, O.K .? And the disks should ALWAYS be facing upside down on a flat surface until the stem has been installed , and only handle the disks by the outer rim !
So, Cuisinart just told me on the phone that it no longer has a dough blade. They also said it comes with 2 lids. One with a feeder and one without. But nothing I've seen on RU-vid shows the second lid...
the Cuisinart I had for 7 years (DLC 2011started to shake and the stems of the motor and the blade both broke, making the entire processor move across the counter. It cut my finger from the impact ! there was no reason for this. my sister thinking she did me a favor, bought me another Cuisinart and it doesn't have a dough blade. the handles on the Cuisinart are cheaply made, while the Kitchen aide brand has a sturdy handle. what is the warranty on the DLC 8s model ? It's a week old and I see it's already discontinued. I'm disappointed- Also, when you refer tot he small feed tube, you should not use the same term for the actual tube and the pusher.
Did you ever get a reply? I was SO frustrated by the same thing, until my husband just grabbed it, accidentally squeezing the magic clear lever on the back of the feed tube.
@@allegrahinkle9066 Thanks for sharing. I did get the feeding tube out (and like your husband, it was just by accident), but then I found that I had also removed the part that turns the motor on.
always get an extra bowl. cuisinart is no longer made in japan, and the cheap chinese plastic bowl tend to break. if you dont get an extra one, it will be very hard to find later on when the company stops making it in a few months, if they havent already.
Good advice. I had an older one that broke because it fell on the floor so often (just the bowl). I taped it together with Gorilla Tape which worked very well.
Yes! My grandma gave me her 11 cup processor, but I can’t get it to start! The button lights up so I know it’s not shorted out, but idk how to get it going and can’t find videos on it 😢
First of all, why do I need a Chef to tell me how to cook or prepare a dish in a food processor? Ridiculous, and there was no DVD, so what is the point?
Just tell me how to turn it on. This is an overly complicated machine that does not work unless everything is exactly aligned. There is no intuitive use, everything must be perfectly aligned and done in the correct order. The locking mechanism on the handle is complicated and fussy.
