So.. . The Ungulates, animals with hooves, come in two variants. The one hoof and the two hoof. The Equus, horses, donkeys and zebras, have one hoof. Goats and cows have 2 hoofs. Or hooves as they are known. They seem to be built on very different design philosophies. The Equus being sassy runners, cows and goats being trudging eaters.

Goats are not trudging eaters, I can tell you that. Cows and their relatives maybe. Goats climb trees and sheer vertical cliff faces for fun.

the difference is if the hoof is evolved from the tip of the digit, horse; or if it's evolved from two adjacent "finger" knuckles. Nothing to do with speed etc

Lamas... goats... are from opposite ends of the world... and are build completely different, the former being a camel, the latter flashing hooves... what I weird tangent that was, Splat!

@@Freestylar equestrian is horse jumping sports like steeplechase, equine is the correct term for a horse and not equestrian.

Absolutely expecting there to be some dark twist at the end of this, like you becoming the greater evil, slaughtering all of your devoted followers, or needing to be sacrificed again to bring back The One Who Waits. The gameplay looks awesome, though.

I prefer it if it creepy good instead, like this nameless formless creature with a hundred maws and eyes just gives the main character a hug for doing such good work.

Judging from where this game picks its inspiration from (I'm looking at you Isaac), I'm betting the fallen god will be the final boss once we free him. But we'll wait and see

There is no twist then if the forgotten is as he is portrayed. That would be playing the contract to the letter. The twist I hope for is it being allusion to early christian cult and old testament god vs pagan pantheon of roman empire. Very unlikely, but who knows\/(-_-)\/

Looked it up and yes, donkeys are equine. They are part of the equidae family and equus genus. Same family and genus as domestic horses.

Devolver is the best publisher in the industry right now. Straight up. Every game doesn't need to be a gigantic AAA effort that makes all the money. Small streamlined AA good auteur games are some of the best and most memorable.

I think it would have been more badass if you got an axe upon resurrecting instead of a sword. Firstly because it seems weird that you just have a sword randomly, but secondly because the implication would be that you're now using the axe you were just murdered with to take revenge on the people that murdered you. And that's hardcore.

The crown that's on top of the lamb's head can morph into weapons. (You can unlock the axe during runs, the full game will have more weapons.)

i can’t wait i find the psychology of cults interesting, i adore all things cute, and i’ve never played a roguelike but i like the town building aspects so i’m really excited! plus the tarot card aspect

Domestic donkeys are in the family genus Equidae, same as horses and zebras. Goats, sheep, cattle, bison, antelope, etc are cloven-hoofed ruminants in the Bovidae family.

Strong inspiration of Curse of the Dead Gods, Don't Starve, a bit of Hades? Top notch animations, beautiful art-style, exciting game! As usual, I worry about combat and hope that long-term it's going to get challenging and not hack'n'slashy, as what we've seen so far has been fairly simple.

Zebras and Donkeys are more closely related to each other than horses, which are in the sister clade. Basically horses and the common ancestor between zebras and donkeys branched off and then zebras and donkeys split off from each other later.

the difference between horses and donkeys, and for that matter zebras, is that horses have a hierarchy in their herds like dog packs while donkeys/zebras just gather for protection like cat clowders.

The Art style immediately ticked for me, and after seeing the gameplay I'm really hyped for this game. I'm still curious to see how it holds in the long term both for dungeons and colony management.

It can be valuable to cement into the mind of the viewer the name of the game being showcased. You could have the name written in 10 different places, but at the end of the video anyone who has in their mind, "I want this game... what was the name again?" You come at them with, "You've been watching splat, this is ." It's like that last yank on the line that hooks the fish. "I want to buy this game." turns into "I want to buy ."

It looks promising, the real question is whether or not the game is going to be 16 levels of progressively longer and harder dungeons or just grinding endlessly to level up your base so you can get the resources needed to not get one-shotted by base level grunts every few levels.
