Dear Swami Revati, dear Shyam, you brilliantly structured, perfectly balanced and complemented this extraordinary conversation. I wished everybody sceptical incl. gentlemen Fry and Dawkins took the time to listen to this! Every word you said has so much meaning and intelligent inquiry. A heartfelt thank you! ❤
Jai Gurudev Swami ji, I'm sure that many are inpatiently waiting for your podcast with Mayuran and it doesn't matter to which topic😃. But then you both have definitely to slow down in your speech speed😜. I like the both first podcasts very much, they give much what one can think about and use in conversations with interested or sceptical people.
Thank you for this project, so necessary in these days of overthinking, unfounded judgments and conceptual confusion. Swami Revatikaanta, you are the one to carry out this task. My best energies to the team. I sincerely wish that everything flows in the grace of Guru.
Yoga is based on the principle that the guru, the yogi, discplay certain (uncommon or supernatural) characteristics, someone see the yogi, and go to the guru asking to be taught how to come to the same stage. A proper guru is able to teach the disciple to attain the same. In Gaudiya Vaisnavism it is the symptoms of bhava, and including being able to display the ecstasies (sattvika bhavas). That actually implies the same as astanga yoga, but implicit. Gaudiya Vaisnavism today has been containated by the muslim and christian concepts that it is enough to just believe, and today practically no "guru" can show the supernatural qualities. It is not a matter of believer in God, or Krishna. Self-realisation means to attain God, attain the consciousness of Vaikuntha, and as I say - to touch God. It is a sublime experience that changes you totally, the attainment of transcendental consciousness. It is experience, deep life changing experience that has nothing to do with belief. Belief is only for the initial stages, you have to believe that guru is able to teach you to attain his state, and you have to believe in the process guru gives. When attaining realisation, it is beyond belief. It is knowing, sibce you see the truth yourself. Everything yoga, when it comes to the west gets extremely very watered down, and even what yoga is really about. It is possible to attain the goal of yoga even in the west. It is not bound to India. But it is rare, extremely rare.
Thank you so much for these contradictory and complementary "deconstructions, dismantlings", edifying in the sense of building, inviting us to go deeper in our reflections, choices and determination, for Clarity as to our True Purpose out of the comfort zones" Thank you again and really Swami ... if you could parlet even just a tiny bit slower
Here’s a thought: why can’t science and rational thought or healthy skepticism of reality and open mindedness to the metaphysical realm be a religion/cult in and of itself? Why completely devote urself to one movement, person or religion when as Plato himself said (in his Analogy of the Sun) that Knowledge itself is the greatest good - a kind of all-encompassing spirituality.. Personally, I believe the best system of spiritual checks and balances is to stay well-rounded: to not adhere to any one movement or institution but to explore all available group knowledge whilst pursuing a tangible trade within society as well.
Well, this is what most spiritual seekers do. They stay searching and searching and just go from one path, guru to the other and are doing spiritual shopping. There is no trust and relationship. It is like trying to find water, digging many holes but never finding the source of water because we give up at the middle of the path due to doubt, non-motivation, expectations etc. Truly succesful are the ones who fully commit oneself to one path. I don't know any saint in the history who was going from one guru to the other and has been succesful. Spirituality in itself is very simple, take what you received by the teacher and apply it and have trust in it.
I'm so happy to see such an honest and thought provoking conversation, leading you to decide for yourself and leaving room for investigation and interrogation, salutations unending to you both and Bhakti Marga! I admire this kind of accountability from your side! Thank you so much. 🙏🌹
Sorry Swami , would it be possible to speak a little slower, please ... even with a translator it's so fast. ( i imagine so that would be difficult for you ) Thanks
