Culture, creativity and heritage play a key role in making the town centre a more attractive and vibrant place. Culturally Chard was initiated as a three year programme (2021 - 2024) celebrating the local character, culture, history and heritage of Chard, exploring what makes the evolving high street a special and unique place, relevant to current and future generations. Thank you to everyone who took part in Culturally Chard projects, activities and events.
Through a range of activities and events the programme brought to life the town centre’s unique story, its past and present. We hope to continue this good work going into the future, beyond the initial 3 year programme. culturallychard.org

Part of the High Streets Heritage Action Zones’ Cultural Programme, led by Historic England, in partnership with Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The Cultural Programme aims to make our high streets more attractive, engaging and vibrant places for people to live, work and spend time.
Creative and community organisations in Chard worked together to develop and deliver Culturally Chard. The Culturally Chard Consortium 2021 - 2024: Chard Town Council, Somerset Art Works, Somerset Council, Chard Museum, Chard Carnival Committee, Holyrood Academy, Chard One Team and Chard Town Team.
‘Culturally Chard’ is the Chard High Street Heritage Action Zone cultural programme, funded by Historic England, Arts Council England and the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
