Ghana does not really have a pidgin culture, it is generally frowned upon. In secondary school we may speak some but the general public does not really speak pidgin. Because it is considered gramtically incorrect and not a language to use if you are "proper"

I’m a British Ghanaian. It’s interesting to hear you share your experiences living in Ghana. In regards to pidgin, both Ghanaian and Nigerian Pidgin are similar but it has many differences. The common words I hear that we both use like sabi, dey, dem etc. I listen to a lot of Nigerian music so I understand their pidgin a little bit. Maybe because you haven’t experienced our pidgin so you can’t understand Ghanaian pidgin and you can’t come compare the two.

so in Ghana the funeral cloth is mostly determined by the family of the deceased. but i general black is worn when the dead was quiet young or still had a lot of life to live .. or was a great shock to everyone or was sudden... and black with red patches or bands will mostly mean the persons death was suspicious / foul play or lacks understanding ... white is worn if person is older like 70 + or lived an exemplary life . mostly its not even a funeral but a celebration of life. hope this helps

So regarding the pidgin! The ghanaian pidgin is kinda a direct translation of our twi or fanti language( l mean most our pidgin words) so like the example that u gave regarding 'mouth' The direct translation of mouth in twi/fanti is 'Ano' which means mouth and it also mean 'Front' So front and mouth have the same meaning! The difference is the context in which they are used! So e dey my gate e mouth(front) in pidgin english, is = saying he's standing at the front my gate! So u don't understand twi/fante, our pidgin will not make sense or meaning to you!

It’s not I don’t go it’s “I don go” which means I’m going or I’m gone.

I remember the shock on Steve Harvey’s face when a Ghanaian family came on his Family Feud show. And he asked one of them if he’s married and he the guy answered by saying "No Please" 😂😂😂

Ghanaian pidgin is not easily spoken since it's not encouraged in schools. You start dey hear pidgin for secondary schools and even that when found you go be penalized. I start dey speak pidgin the time I go Uni and one must also be well versed in the English language b4 he or she go fit speak. Wanna pidgin dey sweet pass 😂😅

Kinah, You are so hilarious. I can't stop laughing listening to your presentation. You are as funny as sister Adeola in the state of TX. I learnt from your earlier video that you attended High School in Ghana. Did you lose/drop the "wedding band" in the pool.....lol? How long do you plan to be in Ghana? Are you taken or still on the market? Drop me a line sweetheart.
