I find it strange that people who come to these islands feel the need to complain about the weather. Usually it is Americans that find the weather in Britain a challenge. It is as if no one ever looks at a map before they come here. It would be better if they looked at a globe just to see how high up the world that this country is. We are on the same latitude as Moscow and Quebec, and everyone knows what the winters are like there. The only reason we don’t have winters of -20 to -70 here is because the Gulf Stream runs up the Channel and Irish Sea. But look at the east coast on a map and you will see above us is the Arctic Ocean and when it gets to off the north of Scotland it goes through a name change and is then called the North Sea. Still just the Arctic Ocean by another name. In winter the temperature of the North Sea is 0 c to 4 c in summer it is 13 c to 18 c. You don't last long in these waters, but it’s good for fish. Because we are so far north that is the reason why in the summer dawn is around 0300 hrs in the morning and dark comes around 22 00 hrs at night. Of course the reverse is true in winter, night fall is around 1600 hrs and dawn is about 0900 hrs in the morning. As for the rain, the prevailing wind comes off the Atlantic accompanied by the Jet Stream and brings with it the storms and hurricanes from America. Yes it would be nice to see a bit more sun, but hey - such is life; it is what it is!
I was born in the UK and lived here my whole life and even I complain about the bad weather. Most people in the UK don’t like the weather here so people travelling from other countries would definitely find it challenging.
Most people don’t drink tap water. I don’t know anyone who does, I definitely buy bottled water. Yes, in the UK everyone is isolated and you can go for days without seeing any neighbours.
All your points are 💯 👌🏾.. Travelled to the UK for a short period earlier this year. 1. I loved how I could plan my trip/transport around town with Google maps. It told me which train to take, where to stop, which platform to go to & the time the train will depart & arrive. That was cool. Hope we'd have this in Nigeria & Ghana someday. 2. I didn't like how the only food that was OK for us to eat was burger & fries. Like almost all the restaurants around offered burger, fries, coffee, hot chocolate 🤦♂️ But fruits were really affordable so I ate more apples. 3. The water tasted weird to me as well. 4. I currently live in Ghana & even here I ALWAYS ADVISE against converting money when you want to buy something. DON'T CONVERT! lol. We don't know how affordable life is in Nigeria. 😜😀 Well done 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
Unbelievable, the tap water is clean it is a developed country why would someone not know that, do you not do any research before arriving? You don’t have best before dates on foods, I find that inconceivable, and why this would be perplexing it is the same everywhere else in Europe. If these things are surprising the more you discover of the country it is going to blow your mind.
The money prt hmm my husband will tell me, baby thats 3 pounds is 1500 naira oo lol..e be things oo but when you start making money in pounds it wont be so difficult anymore
