On the politeness issue, I believe South Africans are “friendly” not “polite”. We are easy to talk to and get along with but we are not very polite people. We litter, our men don’t put women and children first (yooh I used to see it a lot during my taxi times) , and looking down on other African nationals is a thing here…. We are a lively and vibrant people, but not very polite if I’m being honest.

The algorithm brought me to one of your videos about two hours ago and I have watched quite a few since then. What is very stark though is Mitchell's negative attitude towards SA. So I have been wondering why she holds so much contempt for SA... until I found out from this video that, her roots are actually Zimbabwean. So yeah! now it all makes sense why you loathe SA so much

I don’t think I’ve ever said I loathe SA or given off that I do. I’ve had negative experiences yes which I’ve freely shared, but I don’t have a negative attitude towards SA. I grew up there. It was my home and I was never actively looking to move, the opportunity came to me and if my husband wasn’t up to it, we would’ve happily stayed. Not sure which videos of ours you watched that drove you to that conclusion.

Initially it was fascinating, but I think we quickly adjusted. They are there, Manchester is relatively diverse so they are not that few. I think the excitement has heightened when we’ve come across another South African because that’s rare.
