He should not be played in test matches along with few more. They carry bad decision making and rash play from the shorter version into test matches. Too much long rope had been given to them already costing india crucial matches.

Just amuses me the fact that a batsman of Pujara's class was dropped in tours of West Indies, South Africa and England because team management felt he lacked 'intent' in the test side and they brought Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in his place !!
You are wrong. Dravid have had a great foot movement. He was great back-foot as well as front-foot player. Whereas KL stays steady in crease and throw the bat at the ball.

White ball cricket ruined test cricket . Pujara only concentrate on tests so he is successful. Kohli plays both white ball cricket and tests but he's concentration level is very high so he is successful. Today was his rare failure. Rest all are confused between how to play in white ball cricket and red ball cricket.
Well said. I believe having more specialist players in cricket might help the squad - i.e., those devoted exclusively to one genre of cricket, no more - rather than having most of every team selected for all 3 formats.
No doubt pant's dismissal was a good delivery but look where his front foot is.. His foot is nowhere near the ball and then there is a big gap between his bat and frontfoot.
How fast people tend to forget and downplay the achievements, of the true batting stalwarts of Indian Cricket: Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly and Sehwag. They had to face the likes off-- Glenn Mcgrath, Brett Lee, Jason Gillespie, Mitchell Johnson and the incomparable Shane Warne... in their prime. Imagine the current Indian batting lineup vs. those bowlers...would have been a bloodbath. Pujara though has proved to be a worthy successor to Dravid and in the same mold. The true batting contenders vs the pretenders (flat track bullies and IPL heroes) will always be exposed exclusively in away Test matches; especially in bouncy/seaming/swinging conditions vs. a quality attack and fielding prowess to boot.
Johnson's "prime" included plenty of lows in between..His crazy run during that Ashes and a few series made his overall career numbers look better..Brett Lee was a very good ODI bowler but nothing amazing in tests.Starc could be even better than Brett Lee..Your point is well taken but a few questionable examples
Everyone is talking about KL Rahul cause he was flopped in England too but Rahane was 2nd highest run scorer in England after kohli... Also Rahul is playing since 2015 so he is not a young player anymore :)
@@heyysan2 Though Rahul hasn't played all test, he has a century. Pant also has a ton. Rahane, being so experienced hasn't a single century. Show the stats of the home series. His performance is very poor for the last year.

+robin singh I was actually a bit hesitant of Channel 7 taking over the cricket but i actually quite enjoyed the telecast and the new commentators. Apart from Brayshaw, bloke just isn't built for commentary.

Rohit sharma looked like he would score a hundred today. What a six that was over cover as if it was nothing such a class player. He should have settled a little more before turning it on. Pujara really showed that there is a batsman if virat fails. Rohit needs to step it up a little then it will be a different game altogether.
Rohit still has potential in test cricket. In ODI he's justifying his talent since a year but not yet in tests. Not just his sixes, his defence was rock solid too. He got too excited and try to smash and got caught. Should learn from pujara.
Nobody can blame Kohli, He made most runs in England and South Africa none of the other supported him that time...today was a different story, A rare failure of Kohli, Other Batsman were still very shameless.

Replace KL Rahul , Vijay & Rahane and include 3 more bowlers . At least they will try to hit and contribute 40-50 additional runs to the score board as leg byes or edges or whatever ways .. :)

If you see snickometer, spike was at toe end of bat from side angle but from front view ball was nowhere near the toe end of bat. That was not conclusive enough to say it was out.
