You and Matt live on the edge of sketchy tactics! Love the channel, just came over from Matt's channel. You two could be brothers from another mother!!😅
I don't know just why after watching you on Diesel Creek Matt, I thought that I had subscribed but me being seventy three and hospice... old brains don't work as well or kinda like the wiring in this Mack... tired but usable/LOL. I am definitely having fun watching this series since I drove old gas pots like this and owned a B52 Mack... remember a thermadyne engine... also drove for a fellow in Darrington washington a (help me on this one) long nose with the Triplex transmission... looked fun but thats where the fun stopped. It was the Lowboy truck and me .... well I just had more guts than brains.... more than one run away backwards down steep hills and over embankments. I usually just got out and dusted myself off but did break a few bones. Please finish soon as I don't know when they are going to attach a toe tag to this old retro bate failed kidneys and hospice for pain... lived in alaska after coming home from Nam. So the lower forty eight is kinda nice to visit with ya all. I am impressed with your talents to trace stuff. I started making my living as a "wrench" starting around early seventies but dad had me in the seats and wrenching before old enough to argue. Worked me like a rented mule and give me a nic name off little giant.. (size fifty six shirt or five X) and could button a size thirty two pair of britches... thirty four was more comfortable tho... hard finding pants sized like that with the twenty eight legs
Id definitely do a cab off restoration on that truck its way too easy to do for one plus pulling that engine is best you know nothing about it great time to pull it out clean it good check the gaskets and everything plus you can power wash the frame and paint it run new brake lines or whatever wires etc
I had to subscribe the second you said you were ditching the Allison. I see so many people convert to automatics and it’s disheartening. Finally someone that does the right thing when it comes to saving these legendary beasts.
Through time. All wire oxidizes, corrodes. All crimp connections, also. This causes resistance and loss of current carrying capacity. That is why old vehicles will have what looks like yellow headlights, when chasing wiring problems with old wires, that have increased resistance and lower voltage. keep that in mind.
Bit sketchy but you got the job done i think it will be soooo much better with the mack transmission you’re arm will be like a fiddlers elbow 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍👌🏻👍👌🏻👍👌🏻👍👌🏻👍🏴☠️🙈👨🌾✊😎😜💯😂🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Please, please, please make changing those blue silicon hoses for black ones a priority as they are so wrong for this machine. I have no issue with silicone just make it black.
It would be easier to hear you if you had a mic on your person rather than using the mic on the camera. You are coming through muffled and hard to make out what you are saying.
I feel your pain for transmissions falling off floor jacks, when I put the transmission and transfer case back in the 42 Ford GPW military jeep it fell off three times. If It fell off a fourth time I was hoping it would just hit me and take me outta my misery 😅 I ended up ratchet strapping it to the tranny jack, supporting it with a bottle jack and several other jacks involved. Just so awkward to handle.
On those torque converter bolts, I would have drilled a hole and machined the hole out to fit a socket onto those bolts. There is plenty of meat on that housing.
Any new videos of this old girl coming soon? Id love to this finished! Thank you for taking that allison out of it, she deserves better than that pile of bolts lol
some advise . stop wasting time trying to figure out old decrepid wiring , rip it all out and install brand new and updated wiring harness from painless wiring ,you will thank yourself later on
